    What are hid headlight bulbs

HID headlights are relatively new, especially to the United States market, and use a more efficient light bulb than conventional headlights. In the following article I will discuss a brief history of these headlights and some other interesting facts and misconceptions about them. I will also take a look at some of the advantages of using HID headlights. HID headlights were first used by BMW in 1991 in their BMW 7 series. HID headlights quickly became the preferred headlights used in European and Japanese automobiles but this change has been much slower in the United States. In 1996, Lincoln was the first US automaker to use HID headlights which they used in their Lincoln Mark VIII automobiles. So what exactly is HID lighting? HID bulbs use arc lamp technology. Arc lamp technology uses higher voltage electricity to create an arc between 2 electrodes. This technology has been used for many years but for industrial applications. In contrast, conventional lights pass electricity through a thin wire filament. There are some common misconceptions associated with HID lighting and headlights. Many people believe that the higher the color temperature (indicated by ‘K’ or known as the Kelvin Temperature Chart), the brighter the bulb. However, this is not true. XD7, a HID headlight manufacturer, is renowned for its range in color temperatures. Their range goes from 4000K all the way up to 12000K. As you will see, the temperature does not affect the brightness but it does affect the color of the light. For example, XD7 recommends that you go with a 6000K HID headlight if you want a natural looking light. Otherwise if you want white with tinges of yellow, then you’ll want the 5000K HID headlight or if you want white with tinges of blue, you’ll want the 8000K HID headlight. In addition to yellow and blue you can get white with tinges of green with the 10000K HID headlight or a bluish purple light with the 12000K HID headlight. In addition to the misconceptions about the color of the lights, some people believe that HID headlights are not as durable as conventional headlights. However, this is untrue. In fact, HID headlights are often more durable and can be used for off-road purposes unlike many filament headlights. There are several advantages to using HID headlights over conventional headlights. First off, HID headlights can last up to 10 times longer than conventional headlights. Also, as I already mentioned HID headlights are often times more durable than filament headlights. However, perhaps the most important thing for many people is the distance you are able to see with HID headlights. This improvement in sight is often quite significant and could be the reason a potential auto accident is avoided.

What are the advantages of using the hybrid vehicles

Many people claim to worry about the environment, but continue to drive their exhaust polluting vehicles through a thick layer of smog. Our energy resources are suffering a terrible blow and so few people are actually willing to do anything about it. One solution to consider is the use of a hybrid vehicle. They emit less pollution that a standard oil burning type and offer less gas used per mile! Imagine the savings. But that's not the only reason you should consider a hybrid. The EPA or Environmental Protection Agency, when doing a comparison between a hybrid and regular vehicle, finds some very interesting facts. Vehicles are tested to determine what type of emissions they are polluting into the air we breathe, then they are rated by those conclusions. Among their choice vehicles, the hybrid along with SUV’s and eventually minivan's are the pick of the liter! The Toyota Camry puts out more than half of what its hybrid counterpart, the Toyota Prius hybrid does, in carbon dioxide. Nitrogen oxide and hydrocarbons are diminished by two-thirds and halves supported by their green house emission rating for pollutants. With the exception of trucks, hybrid vehicles have the more favorable of ratings and top their categories over and over. When faced with the fact that hybrids put 97% less pollutants and toxins into the air when compared with gas-burning vehicles, it becomes harder to justify why we continue to drive the latter. Hybrids are the better choice for so many reasons, including the evidence that they emit fewer pollutants and the fact that they get phenomenally better mpg, between 20 and 30 for larger engine models likes trucks or SUV’s and well into the 60 range for cars! Manuals traditionally get better mpg than automatics, which is evident by the Honda Insight whose automatic gets 50mpg and middle 60's for it's manual. Aside from being more efficient, the greenhouse effect and fossil fuel debate would be null and void by the use of hybrid only vehicles. It's unfortunate that our vehicles only allow for 15 to 18mpg, but can that argument really justify the damage they are doing to our environment? Society as a whole needs to get serious about conserving our fuel, and hybrid vehicles are definitely a step in the right direction. Have you ever been stuck in traffic on a hot day, in a busy city? How was the air quality around you? Could you take a deep breath and exhale on a smile? Probably not. It's not just the environment we need to concern ourselves with. Our bodies and health suffer from the effects of carbon monoxide and methane, being emitted into the air by our vehicles. We are doing damage to our lungs everyday. Did you know that one third of all air pollution in America is in direct relation to that which our vehicles output? Researchers are studying the effects these pollutants have on the human body as we speak and direct links to cancer are being found. Sounds scary doesn't it? Yet another reason why hybrid cars are the better, more health conscious choice. If you could reduce the amount of carbon dioxide being polluted into the air by 10 tons, would you? The fact of the matter is, 1 vehicle getting 25mpg instead of 20mpg, would do exactly that. The EPA measures the effects these pollutants have on all living things and reports its findings on every industry. Today, with the advance in our technology, there is no reason for the continued desecration of our environment by the use of these inefficient, toxic vehicles. Yes, it's true there is much left to learn and the EPA is continually breaking ground and finding new solutions to old problems. How we put the information they provide us with, to use, is up to us. We are responsible for our world and our bodies and in the long run, it is the population as a whole who will undoubtedly have to answer for our actions or lack thereof.

What are the two different forms of hybrid cars

Currently, there is a lot of interest in hybrid cars due to the gas prices of recent years. There are two forms of hybrid cars. The first is a parallel hybrid, where there is both a gas and electric supply attached to the transmission of the car and the car is able to use both sources when running. The second is a series hybrid, where the gas portion powers a generator and the generator supplies electricity for the motor to run. These both improve the efficiency of the car, which is why hybrids are favored today. The only drawback for some consumers is the size. The reason for this is that smaller cars help maintain the efficiency of the car. With a big car the engine is heavier and so when speeding or traveling up an incline, more energy is needed. Further more, because of the size, the hybrid car has an engine that requires less energy to perform its tasks. Then there is the cylinder displacement, which in a large vehicle takes more power. And in terms of cylinders, the smaller hybrid car doesn’t need as many to perform. The Honda Insight is one of the smallest hybrid cars on the market. It was designed to carry two people. There is hardly any space for cargo or luggage. This design improves the fuel efficiency considerably, but the lack of space is a drawback. The Toyota Prius has more space than the Insight. It can fit more than four people and the hatchback trunk can carry more cargo or luggage. This design has won Toyota awards and honors but for a family car, today’s consumers are used to having much more room. Then there is the Honda Civic Hybrid. This car is the same size as a regular Honda Civic. The compartment spaces are maximized as much as possible in this model. Again, for the consumer who is used to driving an SUV or a minivan, this may still be not enough. And for those consumers, there are some SUV and minivan hybrids available, however they don’t perform well. The efficiency has been compromised by the size. The price tag of these cars is a couple of thousands of dollars more than the regular models so in the end it may not be worth it in terms of gas mileage. So if you are buying a hybrid, it is best to go for the smaller cars and if you are looking for something larger, a hybrid may not be worth it.

What do you do if your car acts up

You can actually never predict what will happen to you and to your car each time you drive around the vehicle. Sometimes, despite regular maintenance and repair of your Jaguar, there still are times when problems decide to act up just as when you are in the middle of the highway or in the middle of a deserted road. However, keeping your calm and keeping yourself cool would give you the chance to be in control of the situation. If you do encounter car trouble or an accident, try to pull over. Stay on the side of the road. Make sure that you are out of traffic’s way. However, also make sure that you are easily seen by other motorists once you have brought your vehicle to safety. As much as possible, do it quickly. Dallying could just make traffic situations worse especially if you are trying to move over the side of the road very slowly. Automobile experts and traffic authorities suggest that you should avoid stopping on the left should if that is very much possible. That is plainly because you surely would not want to run across traffic if you need to go somewhere else – like to look for gas or a payphone. And once you stop on the side of the road, try not to get out. Remember that it is safer for you to stay inside rather than stand outside with the cars rushing by you. If your car acts up during a night drive, try to stop underneath a street lamp. That way, you are very much visible to all who passes by. That would give you more safety and security and the chances of people seeing you stranded could also increase your chances of getting help. And in any time that this happens to you, do not forget to turn on your car’s hazard lights. Meanwhile, for any Jaguar parts needs, you can simply access Jaguar Parts and Jaguar Auto Parts. It has in its stock a wide range of specially crafted Jaguar parts for Jaguar vehicles like Jaguar 340 parts among others

What do you need when you drive

If you think that driving is as simple as breathing could be, think again. Driving takes much more than the knowledge to drive and much more than the attitude towards driving. Driving actually means more on preparation and being ready and prepared in case there are some untoward incidents happening on the road. Of course, being prepared is something that would give you a level ahead from someone who does not even have anything useful in handy. In fact, if you have the proper equipment and instruments on hand and you meet an emergency, chances are, you could be very well be back on the road faster than you would have to wait for roadside assistance. Bringing your cellular phone with you is one of the most useful things you can have during emergencies. You can dial 911 if there is an accident. You can also call for assistance if you are not that knowledgeable on car breakdowns. The only problem that you may encounter, though, would be if you get stuck in an area where there is no cellular phone coverage. Having a flashlight in your vehicle is good. In fact, it could not be only used during stormy or dark nights but you can also use it to check for your car’s parts underneath. However, bringing a flashlight also has its responsibilities. Make sure that you have good batteries inside. You may need it for an emergency however what you did not know was that your batteries are already dead. An owner’s manual is a good thing to have around your car. It provides you the right amount of information regarding how your car works and assists you in knowing why your car may be acting up. Aside from this, your accident and insurance information would also be of great help if there are accidents on the road. Other important things that you may want to stock up inside your car include a tire pressure gauge, a toolkit (which could include a screwdriver and a wrench), tire sealant, flares, a warning triangle, a jack, a tire iron, extra oil, extra coolant, and jumper cables. For all of your needs with regards to Volvo parts, Volvo Parts and Used Volvo Parts stand unique among the rest. This is where you can get specially crafted parts like Volvo 122 parts and other parts for any Volvo vehicle. Keeping your car in good condition increases your chances of driving worry-free.

    What does the vin mean

The acronym VIN actually stands for Vehicle Identification Number. They are actually utilized so as to identify motor vehicles. Each one is unique so it stands as the vehicle’s identity. At present, the usual VIN is made up of some 17 characters. What is quite fascinating is that they do not include the letters I, O, and Q. The VIN is usually found at the upper left side of your vehicle’s dashboard. If you found it, you would see all 17 characters on it. The first character represents the nation of origin of your vehicle, although it could also stand for the final point of assembly. For example, J is for Japan, W is for Germany, 1 is for the US, and 2 is for Canada. The next character is actually the code of the manufacturer. A is for Audi, B is for BMW, L is for Lincoln, and N is for Nissan. These are just a few. Of course, there are various characters for each one. The characters number four to eight are actually information or codes about the vehicle’s series, body type, restraint system, and engine code. As per the ninth character, it is the so-called check digit. It could be a number from 0 to 9 or it could also be the letter X. This is called such for officers and experts in this field could actually know if you have tampered with your vehicle through this character. The 10th character’s position actually indicates the model year. A is for 1980, B is for 1981, C is for 1982, D is for 1983, E is for 1984, F is for 1985, G is for 1986, H is for 1987, J is for 1988, K is for 1989, L is for 1990, M is for 1991, N is for 1992, P is for 1993, R is for 1994, S is for 1995, T is for 1996, V is for 1997, W is for 1998, X is for 1999, Y is for 2000, 1 is for 2001, 2 is for 2002, 3 is for 2003, 4 is for 2004, 5 is for 2005, 6 is for 2006, 7 is for 2007, 8 is for 2008, and 9 is for 2009. The 11th character shows the place where the vehicle is assembled. If you see the number 9 in that position, it would mean that the vehicle has been assembled in Detroit, Michigan. The characters from the 12th to the 17th positions are the production sequence numbers. It is important for you to be able to understand the VIN. After all, it contains various pieces of information about your vehicle. It is also your vehicle’s unique identifier. Jaguar Parts and Jaguar Auto Parts are also unique when it comes to producing and dealing their Jaguar 420 parts and other Jaguar parts. In their comprehensive line up, they do also have brakes, service tools, and climate control parts.

What exactly is a hybrid car

We are all concerned about the environment and doing our part to take care of it. Of all the purchases we make, the purchase that will have the greatest impact on the environment will be the car we decide to buy. Hybrid cars are an affordable and innovative way to help protect our environment and benefit from the increased fuel mileage. Only a few years ago talk of hybrid cars had consumers stepping back unsure; but today hybrids offer a practical choice for consumers, and more and more consumers are jumping on board. A hybrid car has a small engine that is fuel efficient, which is combined with an electric motor that aids the engine when additional power is needed during acceleration. The electric motor gets its power from battery banks which continuously charge while you are driving. Energy is conserved when you stop because the engine is shut off automatically. Then, when you apply gas, it automatically restarts. The hybrid car also uses a more advanced aerodynamic lightweight body, and combines it with low roll resistant tires that are stiffer and narrower to help reduce drag. In 2004, out of the 17 million vehicles sold there were around 80,000 hybrid vehicles sold. By 2005 that number had increased by 1.2% to 200,000, and it’s estimated that by 2007 more than 400,000 hybrids will be sold. There are several hybrids currently available in North America. They include the Honda Civic, Honda Accord, Honda Insight, Toyota Prius, and the Mercury Mariner. There are also Hybrid SUVs available - the Ford Escape, the Lexas 400H and the Toyota Highlander. The Toyota Prius holds 52% of the hybrid market with just under 108,000 vehicles. The Honda Civic is the next most popular with 25,000 vehicles. Now that consumer support for the hybrids has arrived, auto manufacturers are increasing the pace at which they introduce hybrid models. In 2006, the Honda CR V SUV, Saturn Vue, Hyundai Accent, and Kia Rio are being introduced as hybrid models. In 2007 we will see the Toyota Camry, Honda Fit, Mazda Tribute, Chevrolet Malibu, and Nissan Altima; and 2008 will see the Ford Fusion and Mercury Millan available as hybrids. And as an added bonus in the United States, consumers that purchase a hybrid will get a tax break. Those purchasing fuel-cell vehicles will get up to $8000 in tax breaks, and those purchasing alternative fuel vehicles that weigh less than 8,500 pounds get a $2500 tax break. It’s a nice pleasant surprise! If we had a crystal ball that could see into the future, there’s a good chance that what we’d see 20 years down the road would be freeways, highways, and streets that were full of hybrid vehicles. In fact, it’s likely that our gas guzzling vehicles of today are about to go the way of the dinosaur as more hybrid cars make it to market. We are all concerned about the environment and doing our part to take care of it. What exactly is dealer invoice

My first answer to that would be… who really knows? It’s a very elusive term thrown around by about all the car manufacturers’ and car dealer’s marketing departments. You know after many years in the business, I’m not sure I could tell you precisely what true dealer invoice or what is termed ‘dead cost’ is on any particular vehicle. I’m sure the owner or the ownership group could somehow calculate this elusive dollar figure but most of us humans will continue to search for the ever elusive animal we refer to as dealer invoice. To say this term is a bit misunderstood is a rather large understatement. Maybe that’s why it works so good for the folks in the marketing department. Many potential car buyers assume that what they uncover on the internet is the car dealer’s invoice price. Well, not really. It’s certainly one heck of a lot closer than checking the MSRP of a give vehicle, but it probably isn’t going to be ‘dead cost’. You hear it all the time. In fact right here where I’m at there is a local dealer that says all you’ll ever pay is $50 over factory dealer cost; and they have been selling cars this way since day one oh so many years ago. I guess it shouldn’t, but it really baffles me how this works on the consumer. Just do the simple math; if this dealer sold 300 cars a month (about 10 cars a day!) times $50 over factory cost (the inference here is that you are paying $50 over what the dealer gets the car for) this dealer would be grossing $15,000 per month on new car sales. I can unequivocally tell you that this would never cut the mustard! Think about it $15,000 a month and this dealer hasn’t even paid rent, utilities, insurance, salaries, benefits, and on and on. So, $50 over factory invoice… not hardly. So what is it then… this thing car dealers call cost or invoice? Well, it’s a bunch of numbers being added – subtracted – multiplied – and divided before anyone knows the dead cost of the car for the dealer. What’s a consumer to do? Getting out on the internet and doing your homework is a very good start. The exercise of comparing the information you gather is a good one and is to your advantage if you want to start your negotiations at ‘invoice’ price. Which, by the way, you NEVER negotiate from the sticker price down. While doing your research on dealer invoice prices it’s important to make certain you are comparing exact features and option packages to one another. This will at least give you baseline comparisons with which to work. All car dealers receive different incentives from the manufacturer; factory to dealer – marketing incentives – dealer holdback, and on and on. The fact that much of this is not disclosed is why it is very difficult to come up with dead cost for the car dealer. For instance, in the case of dealer hold back; the dealer doesn’t even get this money until after the car is actually sold. There are other expenses that the dealer has that are applied to the overall cost of a particular car, including how long a particular car has been sitting on the lot. You see the dealership finances their inventory and as such pays interest on this financing so a car that has been sitting on the lot for some time has cost the dealer more than the ones that they are just unloading from the truck. As you can see, there are too many variables to any particular car at any particular dealership to know exactly what the dealer has put into a car in terms of cost. However, as we talked earlier, doing your research on the ‘invoice price’ is a good place to start. Just don’t stop there thinking you have all you need and don’t need to do any further negotiating on the selling price. Purchasing cars and negotiating is almost synonymous. Getting a good feel for the invoice price is just a starting point. Now it’s time to roll up your sleeves and work on getting the best possible price you can.

What is the difference between mud flaps splash or mud guards

Call them what you want, mud flaps, splash aprons, splash or mud guards, the piece of material that is attached to the wheel well and sole purpose is to defray and minimize the spray or splash of water, mud, snow, rocks. Pickup Trucks, Sport Utility Vehicles, Suburban, Jeep, Tahoe, Expedition, Explorer are examples of what type of vehicles commonly upgrade to aftermarket splash guards. The difference of names for the same product comes mainly from regional differences. In the West, mud flaps are most common. Splash or Mud Guards are terms used in the Midwest and Splash Aprons are common in the East . Everyday, dealers throughout the United States sell brand new pickup trucks, sport utility vehicles and vans that are not properly equipped with flaps. Driving in rain, snow, mud even dirt without protection can cause damage to your new vehicle or to those driving behind you. Many people view mud flaps to be unnecessary or may get in the way while 4x4ing. For many, this is just an excuse not to shop for them because of the confusion between the names for the product. More importantly than what you may call them, are the materials used between the different automotive manufacturers clearly defines the difference between the types of splash guards available today. Many mass produced and OEM mud flaps are typically made from a high tech plastic, contoured and cover a minimal area of the tire. This type of mud flap is subject to breakage in extreme temperatures and doesn't offer much anti-spray protection. All - rubber splash guards offer more flexibility but tend to sail up, defeating the purpose. All metal, usually stainless steel, are prone bending or being easily dented. What is your car trying to tell you

Over all my years of driving the one thing that still causes me the most concern is when I hear a new noise. This drives me particularly crazy every spring. After months of having the windows rolled up it's very disconcerting when you first roll down the window to get a whiff of that fresh springtime air and you start hearing all those noises you car makes, and perhaps has been making all winter long. Then you start to think "what's that noise?", "how long has it been doing that?" You drive your car everyday. You know how it should handle. If you notice something amiss, and more than once, get it checked out. You may save yourself a lot of inconvenience and money in the long run. You and your mechanic need to be a team when it comes to the maintenance of your car. You however need to be the eyes and ears of the team. Every so often pay attention when you're pulling your car out of a parking space. Is there any fresh fluid? It's hard to tell sometimes due to the stains left from other cars. How about your driveway? Are you seeing new stains? If you are, what color is the fluid? Oil will be quite obvious, appearing black or dark brown. Antifreeze is fairly easy to recognize too with it's yellow green color. Also, antifreeze has an unmistakable odor. A reddish fluid could be transmission or power steering fluid. How is your car handling? It is pulling to one side when you stop? It may be time for a front end alignment. Keep a check on your tire pressure. Under inflated tires can cause lower gas mileage. Get your tires rotated on a regular basis to help prevent wear. Are you breaks squealing? Get to the mechanic as soon as possible, don't let this problem go on. If you do continue to drive you may find yourself replacing worn rotors along with break pads. Rotors can be very expensive. Is you car acting sluggish? It is not accelerating like it used to? It may be time for a tune up. Are you noticing a hesitation? May be the gas filter. Make sure you have your oil changed every 3,000 miles. This is a very good rule for any car, new or old. When I bought my new Toyota truck twenty years ago the first thing my mechanic said was that if I kept the oil changed I'd "get at least 200,000 miles out of the engine". Well, fifteen years later I had 189,000 and the engine was still going strong. Unfortunately the frame was rusting, which was her ultimate demise. Cars manufactured today are much better than they were 20 years ago and if you listen to what you car is trying to tell you, you should be able to have many worry free years with your car too.

What kind of car lover are you

Chuck and I got involved in our first car club when we lived in Rochester and had our Corvette. We had a blast. Met a great bunch of people, did a ton of events. In fact I can still remember our first event. It was a car rally and Chuck and I got the second place trophy. However, like any group, we had cliques. Now, don’t get mad at me for the monikers that are coming. They have been around a long time and I didn’t make them up. All of the following groups love their cars, just each in a different way. First there are the polishers. Their cars are pristine. They will use toothbrushes to get their batteries cleaned. I mean you could eat a meal off their engines. You won’t find a spec of dust on the outside, inside of their cars, and inside includes the engine and trunk. The racers, believe in a clean and polished car, however, their main concern is POWER. They want to get the most they can from their engines. It is all about having the fastest car! Funny aside, when Chuck and I went to the NCCC convention they were giving away a LT1 engine and when the polisher at our table won it, you had to hear the racers. We wished him the best, but told him we were jealous, and we were. Would have loved to put that baby in our Corvette. Then we have the groups who believe street rods, hot rods, muscle cars, or antiques are the way to go. There are also those who believe in all original, no changes. However, you also have another group that doesn’t worry about it, as long as the car is what they want. We love a nice clean and polished car, while we would like matching numbers and all original, if an aftermarket part is warranted we will use it. To Chuck and I it is about having fun with the car. We want to drive it, not trailer it. However, we always have believed in the motto “to each his own” and respect other people’s opinions. One thing we all have in common, is the love of cars and that is all that is important. So what group do you fall in? Drop us a line and let us know. DeFiore Enterprises, Copyright 2005

    What s new with isuzu

In 2006, when IntelliChoice, a California-based information company that specifically studies automobiles and the ongoing cost of vehicle ownership, recognized the 2006 Isuzu Ascender 7-Passenger, Ascender 5-Passenger, i-280 Pickup and i-350 Pickup as among the top in their class for low cost, no one at Isuzu was surprised. They were confident they were giving the public high-quality, safe vehicles at affordable prices. The list of IntelliChoice awards went on and on. The Ascender 5-Passenger (the 4WD version) was awarded the "Smart Choice" title in five distinct categories including operating, repair costs, ownership, depreciation, and fuel economy. The 2 Wheel Drive model was named "Top Winner" in two separate categories in which it competed against utility vehicles, winning for lowest ownership costs as well as lowest fuel costs. In addition to it's wins, it was also named a "Smart Choice" with regards to low depreciation, low ownership costs, and low repair costs. IntelliChoice, at that time, went on to recognize the Ascender 7-Passenger in several categories as well. The 4WD model was recognized for lowest repair costs, lowest maintenance and lowest operating cost while the 2WD model received kudos for lowest ownership and repair costs, lowest operating costs and lowest maintenance costs. But it wasn't just the SUV that received accolades. Isuzu's pickup line was recognized by IntelliChoice as well. The i-280 Extended Cab LS was named a "Smart Choice" for lowest operating and repair costs, as well as lowest costs associated with maintenance and fuel. The i-280 Extended Cab S was a "Top Winner" in the compact pickup category for lowest costs associated with repair and considered a "Smart Choice" for lowest maintenance, ownership, and operating costs. It was also named a "Smart Choice" for lowest depreciation. Why was owning an Isuzu vehicle in 2006 economically efficient? According to T. Jerry Maloney, Isuzu Motors America's president and COO, it's because the company pioneered the idea of value pricing. Isuzu doesn't see value as simply a low sticker price. They try to offer vehicles that are affordable off the lot, but that continue to be affordable every time the owner stops at a gas station or comes in for service. So what does this company that concentrates on value have in store for 2008? More of the same… except better. The automatic transmission 2008 Ascender 5-Passenger 2WD sports a 4.2-liter DOHC Inline 6-cylinder, 285 hp starts at $22,149, a competitive price for SUVs in its category. The 4WD model starts at only $24,149. As for Isuzu's pickup line, it's offering three. The i-290 Extended Cab 2WD has a 2.9-liter Inline 4-cylinder engine, 185 hp, and is a 5-speed Manual. It starts at $14,399. The 4WD version starts at $15,488. The i-290's bigger brother, the i-370, is available in Crew or Extended Cab. The Extended Cab model starts at $19,399. All the features that make Isuzu's vehicles valuable are still there: ample passive and active safety features, an impressive 7-year/75,000 mile roadside assistance program, and its incredible towing capacity. If you're looking for a "Smart Choice," starting with Isuzu might be just the way to go.

    What s your dream car

Remember when you were young and looking to get that first car. You looked around at the cars your friends had, you looked in the various car magazines and would put yourself behind the wheel of all the cars they featured. I do. In fact, I can remember my grandmother and father asking me what kind of car I wanted for my High School graduation. I really wanted to get a powder blue Corvette with white interior, or a white Corvette with powder blue interior. They thought the price for one back then was a bit more than they wanted to spend and didn’t feel it was a good “first” car. So I got my “Black Beauty” instead, a black, 2 door 1962 Chevy Belair with blue vinyl seats, which I fell in love with real quick. They were right, I am glad I got the car I did, but a girl has dreams and that Corvette was mine at the time. This is closest picture I could find as to what it would have looked like. matchingnumbersusa/articles/pix_vet_full_close. jpg Chuck and I were lucky enough to own a 1973 Corvette and had loads of fun with it. We joined a Corvette Club, met a great bunch of people and did a variety of events. Shows, rally’s, low and high speed events. Plus we went to the Corvette Convention in Michigan. We also had a blast driving it cross country and were very sad when we had to sell it because it wouldn’t pass smog here in California. The Bronco we got just didn’t cut it, so we started looking and got ourselves 1955 Chevy, and a 1963 Impala which we restored. Stupid us sold both when we moved. Should of kept them and sold the Bronco. If only we had a crystal ball back then to know what we know now. So, what is my dream car today, well take a look at the beauty below, a 1953 Chrysler Imperial. Though I will have to wait for a while until we finish with the 1977 Cougar we have right now. Along with the Imperial, we are also on the lookout for a 1976 Lincoln Town car, a Triumph TR6 or Spitfire, a MGA and possibly a Lotus for auto crossing or vintage racing. So many cars, so little time. matchingnumbersusa/articles/1953%20Chyrsler%20Imperial. jpg As you can see we have varied tastes. So what is your dream car? What the 2006 mercury mariner hybrid has to offer

The Mercury Mariner Hybrid has been created by the Ford Motor Company so as to be able to “build a better world.” In fact, “build a better world” are the exact words used by the company upon describing the Mercury Mariner Hybrid. And one of the latest models for this vehicle has been refreshed especially for this year. A combination of gasoline power plus electric power is what makes the 2006 Mercury Mariner Hybrid run. In fact, this kind of technology is also used in the Ford Escape Hybrid which has already gained fame and fortune in the auto world. The platform from which the Mercury Mariner Hybrid was built on is the same as that of the Ford Escape Hybrid. Though there are some Mercury motor parts that could also be used on other vehicles, there are still specific auto parts made especially for this green and environment friendly vehicle. Sport utility vehicles are known to be gas guzzlers and also have been famous for being belchers. But not the Mercury Mariner Hybrid. This vehicle might be an SUV but it can run on the most inexpensive fuels and would also have less harmful emissions. The engine for this automobile is a 2.3 liter DOHC Duratec I4 gas engine which has been crafted using aluminum. Every part of it is made from this material. What is exciting and new for the Mercury Mariner Hybrid is that when it is just coasting, the engine will automatically shut down. This function also turns on during stoplights or when stuck in heavy and slow moving traffic jams. And with that, the results are great benefits for 2006 Mercury Mariner Hybrid owners. They are able to save much on fuel expenses. And the environment also benefits much from the cleaner emissions that the vehicle spews off.

What to bring on a family trip

Family trips are one of the ways for a family to spend time together and enjoy each other’s company while driving on the road. The journey could bring the family to a camp site, to a grand parents’ house, or to an amusement park. Or it could be anywhere else. Although there are various reactions from the children, most would often enjoy the whole trip no matter how long it may seem. Fun as it may seem, there still are a couple of things that parents should prepare for and be able to bring with them for the duration of the whole road trip for the family. Cellular phones should not be forgotten. This is very necessary especially if the car you are driving experiences an overheated engine, a blown tire, or if there is a need for some kind of medical assistance. However, do not also forget to bring the charger for the cellular phone – be it an A/C charger or a car charger. Both would help out a lot. Stopping to ask directions is okay, however, if you could bring a detailed map, you would be actually saving some timepared to stopping and asking for directions, you can have somebody read the map to you while you are driving. Also, these maps would be very useful in places where there seems to be a loss of population. Keeping the kids entertained is important especially if they have a very short attention span. If you are the type who gets tired easily by their seemingly endless stream of questions or their heated squabbles, it would be best to bring along books or activity packs that would get them busy during the trip. There are puzzles, connect-the-dots, coloring books, and other activities that could make them keep quiet for some time. Do not forget to pack in some food to munch on. No, this would not be those big meals which could get your vehicle’s interior pretty messy. Food on the trip could include bags of chips, crackers, water, juice boxes, bite-size fruits, granola bars, chocolate bars, and milk. Make sure that you put these in disposable containers or resealable plastic bags. As for your vehicle, do not forget to bring your own stash of emergency equipment and instruments. Spare tires are a must as well as flares, and a jack. It would be best to check your whole vehicle before you go on a trip. If there are parts that need replacement, do not hesitate to do so. Ford parts like Ford Escort parts can be easily ordered at Ford Parts and Ford Auto Parts. They are made from quality materials so that you would not have to worry about these replacement parts wearing down on your long journey.
