    Two way radio batteries

Many fields use two-way radios for communication. It rural or remote areas, two way radios are still essential where there are not cell phone signals. There are some 2 way radios that have a range of up to ten miles. Two way radios depend on batteries to keep running. When shopping for two-way radio batteries, they can vary greatly by brand. There are many different brands of two way radios. Some popular brands are Motorola, Uniden, Cobra, just to name a few. Many of these manufacturers have dozens of models of two way radios. Two way radios are not just walkie talkies any more. They have many features that allow them to serve as emergency rescue devices. Equipped with things like NOAA weather stations, flash light, hands-free voice activated capabilities, the new two way radios are far more powerful than any cordless home phone. Two way radios typically use NiMH batteries or NiCad batteries. These types of batteries are best for cordless communication devices like two way radios and cordless phones. They are long lasting and respond well to short boosts in power. Some two way radios continue to use traditional AA Alkaline batteries, though these have much less capacity that NiCad or NiMH. A newer battery on the market is the Lithium Ion battery, which has much more capacity and charges much faster. Two way radios come with a cradle that charges the batteries when engaged. It can be a double cradle for both two way radios, or a single cradle for each that can be used when the radios are apart. Chargers are also very brand specific, so if a replacement charger is needed, it is important to select the proper make and model. Two way radios are essential for many in any outdoor fields. Their capabilities make them an extremely powerful communication tool. Buying quality two-way radio batteries is an essential method to stay in touch. Being stuck with dead batteries 8 miles out is never a good thing. Stock up and stay connected.

    Understanding the basics of gps

The GPS (Global Positioning System) has been fully functional for nearly two decades. GPS consists of 27 satellites positioned in a medium earth orbit. A satellite is considered to be in medium earth orbit when it is 35,000 kilometers above the Earth's surface, roughly 22,000 miles. The first experimental satellite was launched in 1972. It was not until 1995, 23 years after the launch of the first experimental satellite, that GPS bore fruit as a fully function satellite tracking system. Even then the system was restricted to military and airline industry use. Once GPS was fully functional both the military and civilian implications were quickly recognized. In 1996, then President, Bill Clinton, opened the system to civilian uses as well as military uses. Due to limitations early civilian GPS was not very reliable and so its wide spread use had been severely limited. In 1998 and again in 2004 extra civilian signals were added to GPS. The net affect of the added civilian signals was that the quality and accuracy of the data were raised to a level that civilian GPS has now become a marketable product and service. Since 2004 GPS as a market technology has realized a boom in demand with no end in potential growth in site. How GPS Technology Works The 27 satellites that are collectively known as the Global Positioning System have flight patterns that make four satellites available to a GPS receiver at any time any where in the world. A GPS receiver must be able to contact and communicate with a minimum of 4 satellites to be able to calculate minimally qualified location data. The larger the number of satellites a GPS receiver can contact the better it will be able to calculate a location. In order to triangulate a geographic position a GPS receiver calculates the time that it takes for the signal of the GPS satellite to reach the GPS receiver. From this data the GPS unit is able to calculate the distance to each satellite. The time distance information is then used by the mapping software on the GPS receiver unit to determine an exact location on earth. Satellite signal degradation from both natural and man made obstructions can affect how accurate a GPS unit is. This is why GPS units will try to contact as many GPS satellites as possible. The more satellites the GPS unit is able to contact the more accurate the location. Uses Of GPS The purpose of GPS technology has not changed much over the last 30 years. Its primary purpose is still to as precisely as possible pinpoint a location anywhere on Earth. How GPS technology is used has not truly changed either. It is used for two primary functions tracking and navigation. Growth in GPS technology has not come because of changes in use but because of an increase in signal quality, decrease in component costs of a GPS unit, increase in the quality and sophistication of mapping software, the bundling of GPS units with other services, and more sophisticated marketing to a broader segment of the population. Today GPS units large and small can be found in airplanes, cars, attached to motorcycles, in cell phones, PDAs and hidden in freight to protect from theft. The shrinking of GPS unit component sizes has enabled the use of GPS to be limited only by your imagination.

    Vacuum cleaners a brief history

These days, vacuum cleaners are a familiar tool in any household cleaning arsenal, but this has not always been the case. In days gone by, cleaning was a job performed by using more primitive tools, like the trusty sweeping brush or broom. And while these tools were undoubtedly of enormous value to the house cleaner who had little else to work with, we have come a long way since then, and, in some ways, have come full circle. It was the Industrial Revolution that set the cleaning world alight. Before that time, the sweeping brush was king, and really, it was probably quite adequate. But though the presence of heavy dust and grime increased during the revolution, as the cities in which many people lived became covered in soot and other industrial by-products, the dirt that was created was really not sufficient reason for housewives to become the queens of cleanliness they did. Around this time, though, a huge propaganda campaign was born that alarmed people with its prophecies. Health and lives were in mortal danger if dirt was not tamed, and cleaning products of all sorts witnessed an enormous jump in sales. It was against this backdrop that the first vacuum cleaner came into being. Invented in Chicago in 1865, this hand pumped device lead the way in vacuum cleaner development. Followed by a range of similar devices, the design became more and more intricate as the years progressed, with the cleaners growing ever more ornate and multifunctional, being used as sideboards, among other things. However, requiring two people to operate it, this type of machine was less than user friendly. The democratization of electricity availability opened new door in vacuum cleaner development. Emerging just after the turn of the twentieth century, the electric vacuum cleaner, made by brands such as Hoover, made housework easier for millions. Using a fan motor and a pillowcase as a dust collector, a man named Spangler began a trend. Soon after, William H. Hoover came aboard, and the rest, as they say, is history. Today we are eager to eliminate dirt from our lives as were our Industrial Revolution forefathers, and the choice of vacuum cleaners available today reflects this trend. And while housework can be a tiresome chore, it was this enthusiasm for cleanliness that brought the vacuum cleaner into our world, so that now, after a hundred years or so of technological development, we can rid our homes of dust and dirt in minutes.

    Vacuum cleaners making housework healthy

For most of us, housework is a necessary evil. Not something we enjoy doing very much, rather a thing that brings pleasant results. But what if housework was something that we needed to do in order to maintain our health? For people who suffer from allergies, housework is just that, and so the right vacuum cleaner can be the difference between maintaining health and losing it. In our modern world, we are exposed to an increasing number of allergens, substances that can cause enormous irritation to those predisposed to sensitivity to them. While allergies might easily be included in the list on non-life threatening conditions, anyone who has endured an allergic reaction for any period of time can testify to the fact that nothing can rob you of your enthusiasm for life than what might, in the grand scheme of things, be inconsequential reactions. And, in fact, allergies can sometimes traverse boundaries, becoming potentially lethal, particularly to the elderly and infirm, or the very young. So any device that can help allergy sufferers fight the good fight is not to be taken lightly. The right vacuum cleaner can make the world of difference in the fight against allergens in your home. Whether it is pet hair or dust mites that generates an allergic reaction in you or one of your family members, choosing a vacuum cleaner with this in mind can help you gain control over your environment and ease the symptoms of the sufferer a great deal. The most effective allergy control vacuum cleaners employ a technology known as HEPA, or high efficiency particulate arresting. Developed by the government in the 1950s to help protect those in the services against radioactive particles, the proponents of this technology claim that it can remove 99.7 percent of particles from the air when used in air purifiers. Translated into the vacuum cleaner, this technology helps remove all of the allergy causing substances that find rest on your carpets and upholstery, creating a home environment that is safer for the allergy sufferer in your home. For those who suffer from upsetting allergies, an allergy fighting vacuum cleaner is just what the doctor ordered. So do some prescription housework – your family’s health will thank you for it.

    Warm mist home humidifier review

A home humidifier review is the best place to look for information before purchasing an appliance for your home. You have the choice between a whole house humidifier or a portable unit for use in the bedroom. Unless you live in a very dry climate, a single room humidifier should be sufficient. A review of humidifiers is the best source of information before you start shopping for a unit for your home. Most reviews are separated by type of humidifier. The most common are cool mist or warm mist types. There are benefits to each type. Read about both before you shop. Once you have decided on the type you want, read reviews of specific models. Reviews have a variety of sources from professional reviews, to consumer reviews. There are even some slick advertisers that are able to disguise their advertising to look like a review. Consumer sources are great for information about how a particular unit has worked for others. However, they generally don’t give a comparison to other products. A professional review should be unbiased and often will give comparisons between different models. Read from a variety of sources to give you a good picture of a particular model. Cool Mist Home Humidifier A cool mist humidifier uses cold water and vibration in creating the mist. Because these machines use only cold water, they are a great choice for the nursery or a younger child’s bedroom. There is no risk of scalding with hot water, like there is with warm mist humidifiers or a steam vaporizer. Because the water is not heated, these machines have a greater risk of releasing bacteria and mold spores into the air. The stagnant water inside the machine is a perfect breeding ground for microorganisms. Proper cleaning and disinfecting the machine can help prevent this problem. Empty the water after every use. Clean out the machine and use a disinfectant cleaner regularly. Make sure to dry the tank completely. Add fresh water before each use. A warm mist humidifier uses hot water to create steam in the room. Because the water is heated, there is less risk of bacteria and mold spores in the air. Proper cleaning and maintenance of the machine will eliminate the risk altogether. This includes cleaning and disinfecting the machine regularly and changing filters as needed. Warm mist machines are great for treating colds and congestion that are so common in the winter. Many allow you to add liquid medications to the water to help relieve symptoms. Because they use hot water, they are often not the best choice for use in a child’s bedroom. There is always the risk of burns if your child pulls the unit down. This is particularly dangerous with infants or young children.

    What is a plasma television

The popularity of the plasma television has widely increased since its first release to the general public. People are now seeing the benefits of having a plasma tv in their home. Before, plasma televisions were so expensive but now, since a lot of manufacturers are making them, the competition has grown and the cost of the plasma tv eventually decreased. Plasma televisions are often advertised in tv commercials and on the Internet. Great offers are always available. The advertisers often talk about the benefits of having a plasma television at home but what they do not usually mention is what a plasma tv really is and the technology behind it. A plasma television contains transistor electrodes. The pixel cells of this new technology have transistor electrodes that prevent the scan lines from appearing in the tv screen. The pixels are made up of three fluorescent lights that are colored green, red and blue. Scan lines are usually noticeable on the conventional tv screens because these screens use beams of electrons. Plasma television provides a higher resolution than any other type of tv monitors. It can display the high-definition signals of HDTelevision and DTelevision. Plasma tv's can also receive the computer signals XGA, SVGA and VGA. The most expensive and the most powerful plasma television can display over 16 million different colors. This means that the color of the pictures seen on the television is so much closer to its color in real life. Your old tv screen is not capable of displaying these kinds of colors. The design of the plasma television is also for a specific purpose. Plasma tv's are flat. The flat screen gives a wider viewing angle so wherever you are, you are sure to have a clearer view on the screen. You might have noticed that your ordinary tv has limited viewing angles because of its curved screen. It has a smaller viewing angle than the flat tv. The viewing angle of the plasma television is 160 degrees. Therefore, it is very suitable for group viewing. Unlike the usual tv screens, the plasma television screens are space savers. With ordinary tv's, you need a tv table or stand to hold your tv, occupying a lot of space. Since the screen is flat, only about 4 to 6 inches thick and approximately 50 inches wide, it can be hung on the wall or even on the ceiling if you want to view in a reclining position. Very thin materials are used to produce these wide but flat monitors. Since all the pixels are lit in the process, clear colors are produced. Everybody would surely want to have his or her very own plasma television at home. It is definitely becoming the most popular way to watch your favorite movies and tv shows.

What makes lcd flat panels the right choice

When designing your home theater, there are many questions and decisions to be made regarding audio and visual elements. The type of television itself is usually one of the biggest of these decisions. Plasma, LCD, flat panel, rear-projection – these terms are thrown at us each day and many of us are just starting to understand the differences. The most common televisions being purchased in the United States are plasma televisions and LCD flat panels. There are several pros and cons to consider before choosing a LCD television. While the reduced footprint and the flat screen are nice they certainly aren’t for everyone. You should carefully consider the various advantages and disadvantages of this TV versus a plasma screen before making a purchase. The following is some of the basic information about the LCD and some advice to help you in making your decision. You should keep personal considerations in mind as well, and ask electronics and audio-visual professionals for their opinion if you still aren’t sure as to what you should buy. Advantages of LCD Flat Panel Television Sets LCD flat panel televisions have the most options available in regards to how they are installed. When including one in your home theater, installation can be as simple as placing it on a standard television stand or you can choose to mount it on the wall. Most LCD flat panel televisions are aesthetically pleasing because they are incredibly sleek and thin. They should fit in well with pretty much any home theater design, and they are relatively lightweight when compared to other televisions so that they can be moved easily. LCD televisions are also considered to be good long-term television investments because they will run for 50,000 – 60,000 viewing hours. Most modern LCD televisions also support higher picture resolutions and high-definition display options are becoming more available as well. And unlike some brands of plasma televisions, LCD video displays do not but an image into the screen after a long period of time. Disadvantages of LCD Flat Panel Television Sets Because of the nature of the liquid crystal display in their screens, they are much more likely to be damaged if something hits the screen. LCD screens should always be installed by a professional; an incorrectly-installed wall mount will pull away from the wall over time and could fall. The cost of an LCD television set is generally higher than plasma or rear-projection televisions, as well. You should consider that while high-definition display options may be available, not all LCD flat panel televisions are HD-ready and even if they are additional components are generally required to allow HD programming to display. These must be purchased as an additional cost. Additionally, early models of LCD screens did not display black and dark images as clearly as a plasma screen. This differentiation appears to have been improved upon in newer models. Deciding if LCD Is Right for You While some of the disadvantages listed above are worst-case scenarios, they should be considered simply because they add additional costs to your overall home theater system. Be sure to consider exactly how much you want to spend on a television that fits your home, especially if you’re still in the process of buying your system and want it to be included in the home theater installation. Decide whether you need a high-definition system now or not. With the transition to digital television in 2009, many are preparing their household for HD now. The decision to buy HD ready televisions and components now is one you will have to make based on your budget and household’s entertainment habits. This is a major decision to make, and you’re going to want to make sure that you’re happy with the final result when you make it. ~Ben Anton, 2008

What you need to know before you shop for a microwave

The microwave oven is one of the most used appliances in most kitchens. Millions of people use them everyday to warm up leftovers, cook frozen dinners, and even make popcorn. As much as people use microwaves on a daily basis, most people only utilize a small percentage of a microwave ovens capabilities. Before you go out and purchase your next microwave oven, it is a good idea to have an understanding of everything a microwave can do for you as well as a knowledge of the types of microwaves that are available. Most microwave ovens see the majority of their use coming from simple tasks such as reheating leftovers or thawing frozen food, but they are able to do so much more. Microwaves can also be used to cook complete meals in very little time. Because microwave ovens cook food much faster than a conventional oven or stove, more nutrients are allowed to remain in your food, making the microwave a healthy cooking option. Microwave ovens are also an economical choice because they save a lot of money in energy costs. With such quick cooking times, they will be at full power for much less time than a conventional oven or stove, using less electricity and saving you money on your utilities. They also are a wonderful alternative to cooking with your oven on a hot day. There is nothing worse than heating up the kitchen when it is already sweltering outside. Try preparing your whole meal using the microwave instead of the oven and not only will your house remain at a much more comfortable temperature, you will save money by not having to run a fan or the air conditioner to compensate for the heat the oven or stove caused. There are several things to consider when buying a microwave oven. If you have an understanding of your cooking and reheating needs, you will be better equipped to choose exactly the right microwave oven for you. Capacity and power are the biggest differences in the microwave ovens on the market today. Before you shop around, it is best to determine what capacity and power your family needs. If you plan to use your microwave to cook a lot of food for a large number of people you need to buy a microwave oven that is a higher powered unit. Look for a microwave with a wattage of at least 1000 wattspact microwave ovens run between 500-800 watts, midsize microwave ovens tend to range from 800-1000 watts, and full size microwaves are over 1000 watts. The higher the wattage, the more power the microwave has, which means faster cooking times. The capacity of a microwave is almost as important as the wattage. You want to make sure that you get a microwave that is big enough to fit your favorite cookware. If you are planning to cook large casseroles in your microwave, you should consider buying a full size modelpact microwave ovens have a capacity that is less than .8 cubic feet. Midsize microwave ovens have a capacity that is .8 to 1.2 cubic feet and full size microwaves are always larger than 1.2 cubic feet. The last thing to consider when buying a microwave oven is storage. The size of the microwave will limit where you can place it, so it needs to be taken into account. If you have limited counter space, a full size microwave may be out of the question. If you are set on getting a high wattage microwave with the capacity to cook a roast, but your counter space is limited, there are a few alternatives. You can buy a microwave cart to set it on or invest in a microwave that fits over your existing range. You can also find microwaves that fit under cabinets or built in to your walls. If you are in the market for a new microwave, carefully consider how much capacity you need, how high a wattage system you require, and how much kitchen space you can allot to your new microwave. Once you have figured out the three basics, you can easily narrow down your choices based on your list of needs. Buy the microwave that best fits all three of your criteria.

    Wheelchair batteries

Batteries used in things like wheel chairs are essential for every day living and it is not convenient when they die. When you depend on a battery for mobility, it is crucial that the battery is a powerful one. Batteries designed specifically for electric motors are known as traction batteries. They are constructed is several ways. One is a gel-battery in which electrolyte gel packs are used to avoid spilling common in lead-acid batteries. A newer traction battery on the market is the AGM battery, or absorbed glass mat battery. In this battery, the electrolyte is embedded in between boron-silicate glass mats. Just like gel-batteries they will not spill if broken, but AGM batteries can take much more mechanical abuse from things like shock and vibration. AGM wheelchair batteries are also more ideal because of their charge and discharge rates. Charging an AGM battery is similar to most standard batteries, so there is no need for a special charger, and there are no problems with incompatible chargers. AGM batteries have a very low self-discharge rate which allows them to sit for periods of time without recharging. AGM batteries also charge quite rapidly. AGM batteries are a great and safe alternative to the hazardous lead-acid batteries. In cases of mobility, spillage can be a deadly issue. Wheelchair batteries can be quite expensive, but they are long lasting and crucial for those who need them to get around.

Why i buy my computers and other electronics online

I must admit that I'd be absolutely lost without the growing number of desktop and laptop computers, printers, digital cameras and all the other assorted electronic equipment in my house and home office. I know I once got along without all this gear, but that was back in the olden days, in the last millennium. Today I absolutely depend on it. What this means is that I buy a lot of stuff, and I have formed some definite opinions about where I do my shopping and what places I avoid like the plague. I hate to say it, but #1 on my list of places to avoid are the big electronics chain stores. They are certainly convenient and their prices are usually in the ballpark. And all their glossy brochures have lured me more than once when I quickly needed some RAM, a disk, or a new inkjet printer. Problem is that their sales people are embarrassingly clueless and often only interested in selling extended service contracts. No thank you. When I build a new desktop computer I occasionally buy the parts from a local electronics superstore. Those places are a geek's paradise, or they could be if it weren't for a couple of really annoying deal breakers. First, half of the boards don't work after I bring them home. And second, I absolutely refuse to buy things that are only a good deal after a mail-in rebate or two. I've been burned too many times with rebates. No more. Office supply stores are stocking more and more electronic equipment. So when I go buy a ream of paper or some other small stuff I often end up looking at their laptops and digital cameras. And once I even bought a notebook computer there, something that I later regretted as there was, of course, no service or support. I actually like the office supply stores and have no problem buying things like laser printer cartridges there, but that's about it for computer stuff. Another bad practice that's taking over is luring customers with low prices, make them wade through several order screens, and then break the bad news, like some gargantuan shipping charge or that, sadly, the item is not in stock. Do that to me once and I won't be back. So where do I get most of my electronics gear? Online. I love being able to browse online stores at my leisure, without any sales pressure and usually with all the information I need. I like neat, clean just-the-facts stores that specialize in the kind of gear I want. I don't need useless "reviews" by folks who always seem to have an axe to grind or hate everything. And I don't need long lists of the 99 lowest prices on the web. All I want is information and a good selection. I do expect a degree of customer support in case I have questions, and most of the better online stores can handle that easily. Had someone told me 10 or 15 years ago that some day I'd buy things like laptops, digital cameras, printers or even desktop computers online from some website far away, I'd have laughed. But that's where I get most of my electronic equipment and gadgets from these days, and I've rarely ever had a bad experience. Those online stores seem to try a lot harder, and that's good news for guys like me.

Why is digital tv better than analog tv

To believe this one should watch both of them and feel the difference on their own. The quality of picture and sound are of high quality which gives you ultimate excitement and satisfaction while watching your favorite programs. Digital TV compresses images which help to broadcast multiple channels at a same band width. Whereas Analog which is generally called as SDTV uses magnetic waves to transmit and display pictures and sound which has been traditionally used. The special features available in Digital TV is surround sound, crystal clear pictures, sharper pictures which is all requires for the latest evolution of television the High Definition Television. Compared to the analog the SDTV is significant as it provides more channels from the same station. If you observe the analog broad casting you will find that it is a hassle the capacity to accommodate only a few stations. Where as with digital it contains more information than the analog. If you already have an analog set and wish to upgrade it to a digital one its possible by using digital tuner decoder though it will display the high quality pictures as provided by the original digital sets. In today’s market you find digital quality sets are available and the best news is that their prices have decreased. The cable providers always do not supply with digital cables which digital signals. As such cables do not meet the standards when a digital cable is connected to a digital TV it will receive only analog signal, thus eliminating the advantages of a digital television. A solution for this is the digital quality pictures provided by satellite service providers. Digital TV is used for the latest innovation in entertainment the HDTV. Here you get to watch pictures in a wider screen with more clarity than in analog sets. The picture quality and the audio clarity are far better as compared with the analog. If this revolution from analog to digital continues what about consumers who have analog system is a question which ponders the minds of many. For this a transition period has been set up and that is through the year 2006. If necessity requires then that can be extended too.

Why use a compressed air regulator

If you purchase a "do-it-yourself" type air compressor, or if you purchase any type of air compressor for that matter, check to make sure that it comes with an Air Regulator. If not, purchase one. You will be glad you did! An air regulator is a device that lowers the downstream air pressure. Downstream air is the air that's moving from the regulator towards your application. Compressed air will flow from the compressor reservoir into the air regulator (this supply is called upstream air) and through a system of an internal diaphragm and springs, the regulator will maintain a constant downstream air pressure level, despite changes in the upstream supply pressure from the tank. Recognize that you can only use a compressed air regulator to increase the downstream air pressure up to the level of the upstream supply air pressure. An air regulator will not enable you to "dial up" the downstream air pressure higher than the upstream level. However, if you can figure out how to do that, do let me know, and we'll both get rich! ;-} You will want to set the downstream air pressure from your regulator at a pressure level that is below the lowest air pressure that will be incoming from your air compressor. Here's why. The compressor maximum pressure set point is the pressure level inside the compressor receiver at which the compressor shuts itself off. This is also known as the "cut out" pressure. When the cut out pressure is reached, the compressor stops compressing air. When you start to use compressed air from the compressor tank, the pressure inside starts to drop, and eventually the compressor will start again. This is the "cut in" pressure point. As a result, your application, be it an air tool or an air brush, will "see" varying pressures from the tank as the compressor cycles on and off between the two set points. For most applications, a varying air pressure supply isn't satisfactory and it is particularly problematical for folks that use compressed air to spray paint. Despite your best efforts with the air brush, if the supply air pressure is constantly changing, so too will the quality of your work. This brings us back to the why you will always want to have an air regulator installed in the line between the compressor and your application. If you set the downstream air pressure at a pressure level BELOW the cut in pressure level of the air compressor, in theory, the air pressure to your application should never change. As the air compressor goes through its normal cut-in and cut-out cycle your air regulator ensures that your downstream device will see a steady, non-fluctuating, supply of compressed air. This is theoretical only, unfortunately. If your application consumes more compressed air than your compressor can generate, even though you have set your air regulator at a "safe" level, eventually the air pressure from the tank will fall below the level your regulator is set for, and the downstream device will see a steadily diminishing air pressure supply too; this even though your compressor may have cut-in, and is trying desperately to build up a supply of compressed air inside the tank. This is why you really want to know how much air you need for your application to ensure that your air compressor has enough capacity to oversupply your needs. Check out details of this at ABOUT-air-compressors! Know that air pressure regulators come with different levels of accuracy with the least accurate being, as you might guess, the least expensive. Most general purpose compressed air regulators will have an accuracy of 3-5 PSI, meaning that the actual air pressure that your device is being supplied through the regulator will vary within that range, despite what it says on the gauge. If you need more accuracy, opt for a precision regulator, and depending on the manufacturer, you may be able to get a downstream air pressure within a .5 PSI accuracy of the pressure reading on the gauge. General purpose air pressure regulators normally have an operating range in the area of of 0 - 120 PSI. Others will be rated for pressures of 0-100 or 0-150 PSI. You can also get air regulators with a narrower and more specialty oriented range of pressures such as: 0-10 PSI, 0-20, 20-60 PSI and so on. At the other end of the scale, you can purchase regulators that can safely handle many thousands of PSI. For most do-it-yourself types, a general compressed air regulator with a range of 0-100 PSI will do just fine.

    Women are major electronics consumers

Women are taking a greater interest in, and have a more sophisticated understanding of electronics than ever before. Women actually spent more on technology last year than men, according to the Consumer Electronics Association. It says women accounted for $55 billion of the $96 billion spent on electronics gear (statistic from a January 6 CEA press release). Women are increasingly interested in gadgets, from DVD players to digital cameras, for themselves or birthday gifts for their families. Almost a third of women consider themselves early adopters willing to buy cutting-edge consumer technology. CEA reported that women in the United States are becoming more likely to use consumer electronics. CEA's study provides detailed information about the attitudes, purchase considerations, decision influences, purchase channels, current product ownership, and future purchase intent. Here are some of the findings: • Women are involved in 89 percent of all consumer electronics purchase decisions. • 84% of women believe that new technologies can improve their lives. • 48% of women age 18–34 own a digital camera. The CEA survey noted that women have very positive reactions to specific technology areas, like HDTV, cell phones, and digital photography. Women have more buying power and they increasingly use technology to manage their busy schedules. Women's comfort level with technology is at an all-time high. Women want products that make it easy to connect and make it easy to operate; limited wiring or no wires at all; slim, well-designed products; making electronics available in different colors is not very important; low on setup and high on usability. Usability often is an important factor to women when they buy technology; At CES, organizers hung big pink banners saying "Technology is a Girl's Best Friend," even though the group's own research found a third of women surveyed don't like products with girlie colors. Nearly three-quarters of women surveyed complained about being ignored or patronized by sales people when shopping for electronics. A growing number of companies are starting to target their wares toward female buyers. Sony is outfitting its electronics with features that many women seek and is designing Sony Style retail stores to appeal to women’s preferences by creating an environment where women feel comfortable. Many of Sony’s efforts are focused on functionality. Women are becoming informed and involved in technology areas where they once had little or no presence.
