How to choose an ebook compiler

There are many different compilers to chose from, but first, you need to know exactly what an ebook Compiler does. Here is the simple explanation: An ebook compiler is a software program that converts either text pages or HTML text into a single executable file or an ebook. If you or someone you hired has created a file with graphics in HTML, you will need an HTML ebook Compiler. This type of compiler requires a working knowledge of the HTML tag language. You can also use software to do this for you, such as Microsoft FrontPage or Macromedia Dreamweaver. How do you choose an eBook Compiler? There are a large number of ebook Compilers available on the market, all with glowing sales copy and tekkie language. It can get very confusing and overwhelming very fast without some simple guidelines to help you figure out which compiler is right for you. Choosing an ebook Compiler depends on a number of factors: 1. How did you create your pages? Did you use HTML or PDF format? There are many more compilers available for HTML, but you can find some very good compilers that will covert your PDF files into an ebook. 2. Consider how easy the program is to use and the thoroughness of the software's instruction manual. It is absolutely necessary that the compiler you buy have an instructional manual, documentation, or online "wizards." If it doesn't, your chances of figuring out how to correctly use the program are compromised, and the time required doing so is going to be significant. Many manufacturers of compilers offer a free trial version so you can play around with it and see if it suits your needs. Download the trial version and ascertain that it actually does what it claims to do. 3. Security features. If you plan to sell your ebook, check out the security features of the compiler software carefully. Security features should include: prevention of the reader from modifying text, access only to the pages you assign or by entering a password, different ways of generating passwords such as secure passwords, user-friendly, and open passwords. 4. Supported scripting. Find out what scripts the software supports. Scripting allows you to create special effects, customize menus, and create and modify other user interactivity. Choose a compiler that permits you to include graphics, search windows, hyperlinks, forms, surveys, etc. 5. Pricing. This is a factor that is not always easy to gauge. The highest priced compilers are not automatically your best choice. Choose your compiler based on the necessary requirements for your Ebook. That means you need to know exactly how you plan to use your Ebook and what functions you require. Let's look at some of these factors in more detail. First of all, make sure you have the correct browser to run the compiler. The majority of HTML compilers use Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape. Check out the version that the compiler supportspilers that require a browser will not run on a computer that does not have the required browser installed. However, there are ebook HTML compilers that don't require you to have any browser installed on your computer. These compilers run on any Windows system. If you choose a compiler that requires a browser, check to ascertain that the browser is installed correctly and that it is properly configured to the specifications of the compiler. Check to see if certain functions are turned off or on, and make any adjustments according to the compiler instructions. Security is an essential element of any compiler, regardless of whether you plan to sell or give away your ebook. One of the main reasons for using a compiler is to prevent the reader from modifying the contents. A secure compiler allows access only to the pages you want the user to access unless they enter a correct password. To find out how secure an ebook HTML compiler is, open an ebook on it. While it is open, check the temporary directory of your computer. This can usually be accessed by typing in C:Windowstemp. If you see a bunch of files when your ebook is open or running, it means that your computer is decompressing the secure data from your ebook before showing the ebook to the viewer. This method is not secure! It means that anyone with the knowledge of how to access these temporary files can steal the secure data and then they can fiddle with your ebook to their evil heart's desire. Remember, one of the main purposes of buying and using an HTML compiler is to protect your property. Next, let's discuss passwords. When trying to choose an ebook Compiler, check out the type of passwords that the compiler supports. Almost all compilers offer some kind of password protection that insures that the user can only access the contents they have purchased from you. However, the best compilers offer varied ways to generate different types of passwords. Choose a compiler that gives you the options of secure, user-friendly, and open password generation. Another important factor when it comes to passwords is how the compiler generates them. A compiler that has internal password protection generation built into the software is more secure than compilers that link to live Internet password control systems. Find out if the compiler generates passwords online. If it has this option, it allows you to choose any payment processing system you want or to do the payment processing yourself. Next, look into the size of ebook the compiler supports. The best compilers can create ebooks up to 2 GB in size without decompressing the HTML pages or images to your hard disk. Usually, ebooks that are 2 GB in size can easily support 6 GB of compressed data. The catch here is that only text files will generally be compressible. You do not want a compiler that decompresses this amount of data when the user attempts to open your ebook. This would mean that anyone who purchases your ebook will have to wait for all the data to decompress before they can access your ebook right after downloading it. So look for compilers that only decompress temporarily files that are NOT HTML to the local hardisk. Non-HTML files include Flash, Word, and Acrobat files. This type of compiler is more secure and certainly faster. Make sure the compiler you choose is compatible with your system software. Check out what version of Windows it requires, and make sure you have that version before buying your compiler. Support issues are extremely important. Choose a compiler that includes an installation program. This program allows your user to choose a number of different places on their computer to install the ebook, to place a shortcut on their desktop, and to add the ebook, if they choose, to the Start Programs menu. You also want excellent and accessible vendor support. Make sure you can access quick technical support! At three o'clock in the morning, this factor will be VERY important. Also, check to see the terms of free technical support offered. Unlimited technical support is obviously the best option. Check to see if the company that puts out the compiler software offers a service level agreement. This agreement is to assure you of their quality response to your questions or problems. A good thing to consider is how long the compiler has been on the market. Usually, the version number will give you an idea. The longer the program is on the market, the higher the version number, the more bugs have been worked out. When choosing an ebook compiler, do not be swayed by incredible promises and dazzling sales copy. Do your homework first, and then consider all the above issues and factors before choosing an ebook compiler.

How to create your own info product

In the last article we talked about why informational products are the best type of products to sell online. An informational product can be a digital book (known as an e-book), a digital report or a white paper, a piece of software, audio or video files, a web site, an ezine (electronic magazine), or a newsletter. Any product that's informational, instructional, or educational in nature can be considered an info product. If you missed last week's column you might want to un-line your birdcage long enough to read it first so that you have a thorough understanding of what we'll be discussing this week, which is how to create your own info product. As covered in detail last chapter, here are a few of the reasons why information is the best product to sell online: * It's fast to create, fast to market * There's no inventory to stock * The startup costs are low * You can automate the sales and delivery process * There are no shipping and handling charges One of the best things about information products is that you don't need a product designer or a manufacturing plant to crank out the goods. You also don't have to spend months and months doing product development. If you have a computer and a word processing program you have everything you need to create a best-selling info product in a very short amount of time. Great, you say, but I'm no writer. How the heck can I get into the information business? The good news is you don't have to be a great writer to create a great info product. If you don't have the ability to create the product yourself there are several avenues you can take to info product success. Co-author with a writer In my opinion, expert knowledge is much harder to come by than great writing skills. If you are an expert on a subject that people will pay to learn about, you just need a good writer to take your expert knowledge and put it in a saleable form. I know many subject matter experts who can't write their names in the snow and many excellent writers who don't have the expert knowledge required to create an informational product that will sell. Co-authoring can be a match made in Heaven if an equitable co-authoring arrangement can be made. Co-authoring means that you both get credit for creating the product and share in the revenues. If you are an expert on a topic, but not a writer, find a writer to co-author the project with you. Conversely, if you're a writer without specific knowledge, find a subject matter expert and partner with them to create the product. Hire a ghost writer A ghost writer is someone who will write the ebook for you anonymously, with the writing credits going solely to you. You supply the expertise and guidance and the ghost writer puts it in a readable format. You can hire ghost writers on an hourly basis or for a flat fee, depending on the scope of the project. There is no shame in using a ghost writer to put your thoughts to digital paper. You don't really think all those pro athletes and Hollywood actresses can write 300 page books now, do you? Publish a directory Can't think of a subject that you're qualified to write about? Try compiling a directory. A directory is nothing more than a listing of specialized information that you target market to a particular segment of the buying public. For example, my company publishes a dropship and wholesale industry directory that is a listing of company names, addresses, phone numbers, and website addresses. I simply have someone research the industry and compile their findings in a directory format, package it nicely, and sell it online for $27. Sign on with an affiliate program and sell their info products There are thousands of companies that sell informational products and most have affiliate programs that you can sign on with. Becoming an affiliate basically means you become a reseller of the company's products. You promote the product, you make the sale, the company delivers the product, and you earn a commission. The key to creating a successful info product is this: the information must be worth far more than the price of the ebook itself. If you're charging $27 for your product, it must give the buyer many times that price in perceived value. I asked info product expert Jim Edwards, co-Author of "How To Write and Publish Your Own eBook in as little a 7 Days" for his advice on how to create a killer info product. Here are Jim's Top 5 Tips: * Niche It - Make sure you are targeting a highly defined niche audience... don't try to sell to everyone. You can get a lot more money showing life insurance agents how to find more customers to buy $250,000 policies than you can trying to sell a product on generic sales skills improvement. * Hit Their Pain - Make sure your info product hits a painful problem that members of your target audience will do just about ANYTHING to solve. The more intense the pain, the more they're willing to pay to get rid of it. * Give Them A Taste - Give people a taste of what you offer in your info-product by giving them a sample. Just like the wholesale clubs get you to buy tater-tots in a 50 lb. bag by giving you one to try, you can induce people to buy your information by letting them read the first chapter or listen to the first few minutes of an audio. * Entertain Them - People hate to be bored. Increase the power of your product by adding humor, drama and other entertainment elements that make them want more and more. This will not only help with future sales to satisfied customers, it will also keep your refunds down and increase word of mouth advertising. * Keep it Evergreen - Don't make the mistake of creating a product that hits a fad or a fleeting market. Create info-products that can be updated with very little effort. This allows you to create a product once and keep the sales rolling in for years (literally) to come!

How to get your product offered on over 80 000 for free

Any marketer knows that nothing beats word of mouth advertising. It is simply the most powerful and cost effective advertising ever known. Even before the days of the Internet. Word of mouth advertising got every business where it is today. I know many entrepreneurs that never have and never will spend money on advertising. Their entire business comes from people telling other people about their product or service. Could you imagine never spending money on advertising, but always having a steady stream of customers on your door step begging for your product or service. There is one catch to running a business only on word of mouth advertising. You must be selling an outstanding product or service. If you sell crap, the only word of mouth advertising you'll have is negative. I'm sure you've heard the expression before. A satisfied customer will tell three people about your product or service, an unsatisfied customer will tell ten. If your customers aren't happy you'll have to work ten times harder and spend more money on advertising to sell your product. Positive word of mouth advertising is unbeatable for two main reasons. 1. It's free advertising. This is self explanatory. The less you have to spend on advertising, the more money you can put in your pocket and back into your business. 2. People are endorsing your product or service. Having someone endorse your product puts you at a greater advantage. When someone tells their friend about the positive experience they've had with your product, there is instant trust. People trust their friends. If a friend says your product is it, they'll instantly trust you. Trust is a huge barrier to break down when it come to selling anything, online or off. To give you an idea of how powerful word of mouth advertising can be, take a look below. Your online business can grow exponentially without you ever even having to lift a finger. Let’s say you start out with 10 satisfied customers you got with paid advertising. If those ten people tell only 3 people each, you could get another 30 customers for free. But this is where it starts getting good because word of mouth advertising never stops once it gets going. If those 30 people tell 3 more people each you could have another 90 new customers for free! 90 X 3 = 270 270 X 3 = 810 810 X 3 = 2430 2430 X 3 = 7290 7290 X 3 = 21,870 21,870 X 3 = 65,610 65,610 X 3 = 196,830 etc... You get the idea. More and more people just keep learning about your business all threw friends and associates. And it's all free advertising! If you think the above numbers are a bit of an overstatement think again. Go to Google right now and do a search on Autoresponder Magic. Autoresponder Magic is an eBook that was written by Yanki Siler several years ago. More than 80,000 web sites advertise his Ebook on their sites right now for FREE! When Yanki started out several years ago he didn't even know what an eBook was. Today he has more traffic coming to his site in a day then most web sites do in a life time. Make no mistake, word of mouth advertising is the most powerful form of advertising ever known and handing out free Ebooks like Yanki are one way to take advantage of it. How to keep your visitor coming back

: Can you imagine how many times a person visits your website, leaves it and never come back again? You know how we behave impulsively on the Internet, clicking links, searching information and on. After few minutes on the Internet you can easily forget where you were 5 web pages ago. The main problem is that your visitor will not come back to your website again unless you do something. I can personally guarantee for you that it will happen. Let's say 500 visitors visit your website daily and never come back again. With the right tools is very easy to drive that amount of people to your website. You're loosing 15000 potential clients. People that would click your links, buy through your affiliates banners, link to your website and on. That's a lot of money going away everyday. Everywhere you see people saying that a creative unique content will keep some of the visitors coming back. I tell you that great content is essential to any website success but it's not the solution. What you need to do is convert your visitor into subscribers of your mailing list. As your visitor arrives on your website, you want to convert him into your subscriber via a simple opt-in to your mailing list. Just offer him something in exchange of his email. It could be a special report, an ezine or hints about a specific subject. After some visitors sign up to be on your mailing list, keep offering them good offers and increase dramatically your profits. Remember, when visitors leave your website you loose money, when they become subscribers you obtain the potential revenue you rightfully deserve. It's easy and fun.

How to make money selling ebooks

Many people have told me that they want to make money by selling ebooks, but they don't want to write an e-book. If this describes you, I have great news for you! You can still make money by selling e-books written by other people by using affiliate marketing. What is affiliate marketing? Affiliate Marketing is an agreement between a merchant (the person who wrote and owns the ebook) and you (an affiliate). You agree to use your web sites and blogs to promote the merchant's e-books and to link to the merchant's web site. In exchange for this, the merchant pays you a commission on all sales that were generated by the affiliate web site. A referral occurs when a customer clicks on your product link and makes a purchase. So now that you know what affiliate marketing is, start looking for a few affiliate products that you would like to sell. You might already know someone whose ebooks you would like to sell, and who has an affiliate program. In this case, just register for this person's affiliate program, get your affiliate links and start promoting the e-books. If you don't know of anyone who has e-books and an affiliate program that you can use to sell them, just use your favorite search engine to find them. For example, if you are looking for e-books on gardening that have an affiliate program, just type in gardening e-books affiliate program into search engines. Chances are, you will find what you are looking for. Once you find e-books that you would like to promote, start promoting them. Here is information to help you promote them: Create good web marketing copy for the e-books on your web site. It is not enough to list the e-books on your web site and then link to the seller’s web site. The people who come to your web site are not looking for links to other sites; rather, they are looking for useful information for themselves. Having useful information on your web site increases the changes of your web site visitors buying the e-book, and will generate affiliate commissions for you. Once you have good web site copy, start promoting your web site online and drive traffic to it. One way to do that is by optimizing the site for search engines. Search engine optimization is the process of modifying web page content and meta-information to improve the search engine ranking of the page. Successful search engine optimization will greatly increase the number of visitors that come to your web site. The more visitors to the web site you have, the more affiliate products you will be able to sell, and the more money you will make. Make sure you optimize every page of your web site for search engines, especially the ones that provide the information about the e-books and sell the e-books; that way you will get more web site visitors. Another way to drive more traffic to your web site is by creating a blog to promote it. A blog is your business diary, in which you share the information about your web site, as well as the e-books you are promoting. Your blog is an excellent tool to let the world know about the affiliate products and to connect with potential customers who would want to purchase them. In order to bring the most online traffic and make money with your blog, make sure that your blog consistently and create blog posts that are of interest to your past as well as potential customers. Regular posts that are interesting to read is what will keep your readers coming back and buying from you. Use the tips discussed above to make money selling e-books written by others. That is an excellent way to make money online.

How to make your own pdf easily

If you are an internet marketer sooner or later you will need to learn how to make your own PDF. I have just learned how to do this for free and easily. First, you might ask why you need to make your own PDFs? There are different reasons. First, by writing and giving away your own e-book you can bring a lot of traffic to your website. Second, you can grow your list in this way. There are a lot of people who are looking for free information on the internet. E-books are more valued than web pages or other reports or articles. People will be happy to sign up to your list to get the free e-book. Third, by writing your own e-book and giving it away you can make people happy and more receptive to your future e-mails. Fourth, having your own e-book your website will look more authoritative and you can get better search engines ratings. Now you might think that it’s not easy to create your own e-book in PDF format or that you need to buy the expensive Adobe Acrobat. Below are simple steps how to do it for free and easily. There are other ways but I think this way is the easiest. First, download free but very good “Open Office” from openoffice. org/. Second, install it and open the Open Office writer program. Third, use the writer program to write your content. You might get scared and think that you don’t know what to write about. I presume that if you are an internet marketer, you have found your niche and know something about it. The easiest way to write an e-book about your niche is to buy and read other e-books about your niche. You should also read some articles and information on different forums about you niche. After that try to collect the best and most useful information from all those sources and write your own e-book. Of course don’t just copy. Don’t plagiarize! Write it using your own words. Try to add some extra valuable information. People will be happy to find the e-book which contains some new information, but they will also appreciate the e-book packed will the most valuable essence, even if it can be found in a few other, different e-books. Fourth, when your content is ready, click on the “file menu” in Open Office, and then click “export to pdf.” Next choose where you want to save your pdf and name it. Now your e-book in PDF format is ready. To learn many amazing techniques and to get your 100% FREE e-book, plus a lot of tips about internet marketing go to: internetgoldmethod

    How to market your ebook

Writing and marketing your own ebook is an excellent way to help build your online and/or home business. Being able to offer your own informative, quality ebook will establish you as someone who knows what they are talking about. This will earn you trust and respect and go a long way towards building your online presence. People will start coming to you and your site when they need products, advice, support, help, etc. thus bringing you many more customers and /or subscribers. There are many ways to market your ebook. Some of the best ways are listed below: Put your ebook in your sigtag along with a free bonus. The free bonus will attract more people and bring in more sales. Joint Ventures: Team up with other ebook authors or ezine publishers or webmasters to cross promote each other's products or services. Agree to send referrals to each other and recommend each other's products. Use an excerpt from your ebook as an article and submit it to as many directories as possible. Be sure to mention your ebook in your resource box. Search out quality targeted ezines and purchase solo or top sponsor ad spots. Submit your ebook to as many ebook directories as you can. The more links to your ebook, the better. Write a keyword rich sales page and optimize it for the search engines with meta tags and page title. Offer two or three free bonuses with your ebook. make and offer that is very hard or impossible to refuse. Ask a few people to write reviews for your ebook in exchange for a free copy. Post the reviews on your site. Offer a free report as a lead-in to your ebook. People love free information and if you offer a quality report that gets them interested they very well may want to buy your ebook. If you publish an ezine, ask other ezine publishers to swap solo or top sponsor ads. I prefer top sponsor ads but many marketers have said that solo ads get the most results. Start an affiliate program and offer people a percentage to sell your ebook. One of the best places to do this is Clickbank. For a small fee you can set up your affiliate program and increase your sales many times over. Offer the first chapter or two as a freebie. Be sure and leave them wanting more. Visit message boards or join discussion groups to learn marketing strategies that have worked for other publishers and authors. If it works for them, it can work for you as well. As with any marketing campaign, you have to stick with it. Be consistent. You cannot submit to a couple of directories and post to a couple message boards and then sit back and wait to get rich. Marketing is a daily commitment. The possibilities are endless as to ways to market your ebook. Be sure and combine many of the strategies for one successful marketing campaign. Be creative and come up with new innovative marketing ideas. Find out what works and get started marketing that new ebook!

How to overcome writer s block

Sound familiar? No! Oh, get real! We've all experienced this phenomenon when we absolutely have to write something, particularly on deadline. I'm talking about. . . ..uh, I can't think of what the word is .. . oh, yes, it's on the tip of my tongue . . . it's: WRITER'S BLOCK!!!! Whew! I feel better just getting that out of my head and onto the page! Writer's block is the patron demon of the blank page. You may think you know EXACTLY what you're going to write, but as soon as that evil white screen appears before you, your mind suddenly goes completely blank. I'm not talking about Zen meditation stare-at-the-wall-until-enlightenment-hits kind of blank. I'm talking about sweat trickling down the back of your neck, anguish and panic and suffering kind of blank. The tighter the deadline, the worse the anguish of writer's block gets. Having said that, let me say it again. "The tighter the deadline, the worse the anguish of writer's block gets." Now, can you figure out what might possibly be causing this horrible plunge into speechlessness? The answer is obvious: FEAR! You are terrified of that blank page. You are terrified you have absolutely nothing of value to say. You are afraid of the fear of writer's block itself! It doesn’t necessarily matter if you've done a decade of research and all you have to do is string sentences you can repeat in your sleep together into coherent paragraphs. Writer's block can strike anyone at any time. Based in fear, it raises our doubts about our own self-worth, but it's sneaky. It's writer's block, after all, so it doesn't just come and let you know that. No, it makes you feel like an idiot who just had your frontal lobes removed through your sinuses. If you dared to put forth words into the greater world, they would surely come out as gibberish! Let's try and be rational with this irrational demon. Let's make a list of what might possibly be beneath this terrible and terrifying condition. 1. Perfectionism. You must absolutely produce a masterpiece of literature straight off in the first draft. Otherwise, you qualify as a complete failure. 2. Editing instead of composing. There's your monkey-mind sitting on your shoulder, yelling as soon as you type "I was born?," no, not that, that's wrong! That's stupid! Correct, correct, correct, correct? 3. Self-consciousness. How can you think, let alone write, when all you can manage to do is pry the fingers of writer's block away from your throat enough so you can gasp in a few shallow breaths? You're not focusing on what you're trying to write, your focusing on those gnarly fingers around your windpipe. 4. Can't get started. It's always the first sentence that's the hardest. As writers, we all know how EXTREMELY important the first sentence is. It must be brilliant! It must be unique! It must hook your reader's from the start! There's no way we can get into writing the piece until we get past this impossible first sentence. 5. Shattered concentration. You're cat is sick. You suspect your mate is cheating on you. Your electricity might be turned off any second. You have a crush on the local UPS deliveryman. You have a dinner party planned for your in-laws. You . . . Need I say more. How can you possibly concentrate with all this mental clutter? 6. Procrastination. It's your favourite hobby. It's your soul mate. It’s the reason you've knitted 60 argyle sweaters or made 300 bookcases in your garage workshop. It's the reason you never run out of Brie. FACE IT? IT’S ONE OF THE REASONS YOU HAVE WRITER'S BLOCK! How to Overcome Writer's Block Okay. I can hear that herd of you running away from this article as fast as you can. Absurd! you huff. Never in a million years, you fume. Writer's block is absolutely, undeniably, scientifically proven to be impossible to overcome. Oh, just get over it! Well, I guess it's not that easy. So try to sit down for just a few minutes and listen. All you have to do is listen? You don't have to actually write a single word. Ah, there you all are again. I am beginning to make you out now that the cloud of dust is settling. I am here to tell you that WRITER'S BLOCK CAN BE OVERCOME. Please, remain seated. There are ways to trick this nasty demon. Pick one, pick several, and give them a try. Soon, before you even have a chance for your heartbeat to accelerate, guess what? You're writing. Here are some tried and true methods of overcoming writer's block: 1. Be prepared. The only thing to fear is fear itself. (I know, that's a clichй but as soon as you start writing, feel free to improve on it.) If you spend some time mulling over your project before you actually sit down to write, you may be able to circumvent the worst of the crippling panic. 2. Forget perfectionism. No one ever writes a masterpiece in the first draft. Don't put any expectations on your writing at all! In fact, tell yourself you're going to write absolute garbage, and then give yourself permission to happily stink up your writing room. 3pose instead of editing. Never, never write your first draft with your monkey-mind sitting on your shoulder, making snide editorial commentsposing is a magical process. It surpasses the conscious mind by galaxies. It's even incomprehensible to the conscious, editorial, monkey-mind. So prepare an ambush. Sit down at your computer or your desk. Take a deep breath and blow out all your thoughts. Let your finger hover over your keyboard or pick up your pen. And then pull a fake: appear to be about to begin to write, but instead, using your thumb and index finger of your dominant hand, flick that little annoying ugly monkey back into the barrel of laughs it came from. Then jump in ? quickly! Write, scribble, scream, howl, let everything loose, as long as you do it with a pen or your computer keyboard. 4. Forget the first sentence. You can sweat over that all-important one-liner when you've finished your piece. Skip it! Go for the middle or even the end. Start wherever you can. Chances are, when you read it over, the first line will be blinking its little neon lights right at you from the depths of your composition. 5. Concentration. This is a hard one. Life throws us so many curve balls. How about thinking about your writing time as a little vacation from all those annoying worries. Banish them! Create a space, perhaps even a physical one, where nothing exists except the single present moment. If one of those irritating worries gets by you, stomp on it like you would an ugly bug! 6. Stop procrastinating. Write an outline. Keep your research notes within sight. Use someone else's writing to get going. Babble incoherently on paper or on the computer if you have to. Just do it! (I know, I stole that line from somewhere?). Tack up anything that could possibly help you to get going: notes, outlines, pictures of your grandmother. Put the cookie you will be allowed to eat when you finish your first draft within sight, but out of reach. Then pick up the same type of writing that you need to write, and read it. Then read it again. Soon, trust me, the fear will slowly fade away. As soon as it does, grab your keyboard, and get writing!

How to sell more of your ebooks online

Have you written an e-book? An e-book is a digital document that can be sold online in a purely digital form. Thus, unlike with selling a physical product, the fulfillment of an e-book is done completely online. This is great for you, the author, since you can completely automate the order taking and fulfillment processes. Once you have the fulfillment process automated, the question becomes how to market the e-book online in order to get people to buy it. “How do I effectively market my e-books online?” is one of the most common questions I hear from my clients. Here are five tips that will help you sell more of your e-books and generate more revenue: - Find a target market to sell the e-book to. Many people think that everyone is their target market, and as a result try to sell their e-book to everyone. They usually end up chasing after potential customers who are not in their target market and are not likely to ever purchase the book. Their e-book sales suffer as a result. Instead of trying to sell your e-book to everyone, concentrate on a smaller group of people who comprise your target market. These people are much more likely to purchase what you have to offer, and as a result you will get many more sales. - Create an effective sales letter for your e-book. Since you cannot take a picture of your e-book and post it on your web site (unlike a piece of jewelry, for example), your need to use the sales letter to promote the e-book. Make sure that your sales letter effectively describes your e-book and focuses on the benefits your clients will get by purchasing your e-book. Highlighting the benefits will keep people reading the sales letter, and it will generate more e-book sales. - Give your customers just a few options on your web site. Sometimes clients tell me that their sales letters don’t sell. When I take a look at the sales letters, they are usually a big mess. Sales letters that do not sell contain too many distractions for the reader: they have links to other web pages and web sites, banners, and text ads for other products. Make sure that your sales letter provides only a few options to your customers – an option to buy the product and an option to subscribe to your newsletter, and that’s it. The fewer options you give to your web site visitors, the more likely they are to buy your product. - Have a newsletter subscription on your web site. Sometimes people who come to your web site and see your e-book are not ready to purchase the e-book. However, they are ready to subscribe to your newsletter and learn more about you and your products. These people will be ready to buy your e-book eventually, so make sure that you keep in touch with them through your newsletter. - Use online marketing techniques to promote your e-book further. Use search engine optimization, business blogging, article publishing and other online marketing techniques to promote your web site and e-book. These methods will bring more visitors to your web site, who are craving the information that you share in your e-book. You can only make money with your e-book if you sell it. Follow the five tips that we discussed to sell more e-book copies and make more money.

How to use ebooks and ebay to build your mailing list

Part 1: How to make money from affiliate ebooks without selling them Part 2: How to use ebooks and ebay to build your mailing list Part 3: How to use ebooks to drive more visitors to your site In this section we’ll look at a very easy to use and cost effective method of getting laser targeted prospects on your mailing list. First, let’s quickly re-cap part one; we learned there that we don’t need to make money from the initial sale of the ebook in order to profit from the ebook. Keep this in mind as we go through the following dialogue. ebay is a site that facilitates bringing buyers and sellers together in a secure and safe environment, in order to buy and sell a variety of goods and services, either through action or in a fixed price format. The preferred payment system used there is Paypal. Paypal is an extremely user friendly and highly secure service for transferring money over the internet. Here’s what we do: 1. List the ebook under several different categories, choose categories that have a specific connection to the topic and some that are more loosely connected. For example an ebook about Internet Marketing could be listed under the category of; books/internet information products/marketing; this would be a direct connection. A loosely connected category might be something like; Everything Else/Education & Learning/Adult & Career Education/Personal Development/Personal Finances. An easy way to find suitable categories is to use the search categories option as you are listing; it gives you recommendations that you can choose from. 2. We also need to play around with the Heading, using different headings for all of our listings, we should try to include the words and phrases that people will use when searching most often, and include them in the heading. 3. List the ebook as a 10 day auction and offer a ‘buy now’ option as well. Be sure to set the ‘buy now’ price at level that covers our fees if we wish to make this a free advertising campaign. 4. We need to create a html formatted sales letter. Do this by creating a page in html composer such as Mozilla or coffee cup, or any other composer. Outline all the details about the book and what’s in it etc. then at the end of the description add an Auto responder! That the customers can use to ask for more information about the product. We must ensure that the redirect page brings the customer back to ebay. This is vital because ebay has very strict policies regarding links that take people away from their site. 5. Now we can play around with the sales letter to make it more enticing for people to enter their details, some of the things we could use are; for a free report, to receive other offers and updates, for more information and the free edition, etc. we just need to become creative here. 6. If our ebook sells without getting any prospects, that’s great we have covered our costs and distributed our links. (see part one of this series) We can go ahead and re-list it, then start all over again! That’s all there is to it! It doesn’t take long to set up and once in place, we can easily tweak the listings and continue this strategy. It’s not limited only to ebay it’s also possible to use any of the other auction sites available online today.

How to write a amazing ebook

The hardest part of writing is the first sentence. When you look at the whole project, it seems like an impossible task. That's why you have to break it down into manageable tasks. Think of climbing a mountain. You are standing at the foot of it and looking up at its summit vanishing into the clouds. How can you possibly scale such an immense and dangerous mountain? There is only one way to climb a mountain ? step by step. Now think of writing your ebook in the same light. You must create it step by step, and one day, you will take that last step and find yourself standing on the summit with your head in the clouds. The first thing you have to do, as if you actually were a mountain climber, is to get organized. Instead of climbing gear, however, you must organize your thoughts. There are some steps you should take before you begin. Once you've gone through the following list, you will be ready to actually begin writing your ebook. Beginning Steps to Writing an ebook First, figure out your ebook's working title. Jot down a few different titles, and eventually, you'll find that one that will grow on you. Titles help you to focus your writing on your topic; they guide you in anticipating and answering your reader's queries. Many non-fiction books also have subtitles. Aim for clarity in your titles, but cleverness always helps to sell books ? as long as it's not too cute. For example, Remedies for Insomnia: twenty different ways to count sheep. Or: Get off that couch: fifteen exercise plans to whip you into shape. Next, write out a thesis statement. Your thesis is a sentence or two stating exactly what problem you are addressing and how your book will solve that problem. All chapters spring forth from your thesis statement. Once you've got your thesis statement fine-tuned, you've built your foundation. From that foundation, your book will grow, chapter by chapter. Your thesis will keep you focused while you write your ebook. Remember: all chapters must support your thesis statement. If they don't, they don't belong in your book. For example, your thesis statement could read: We've all experienced insomnia at times in our lives, but there are twenty proven techniques and methods to give you back a good night's sleep. Once you have your thesis, before you start to write, make sure there is a good reason to write your book. Ask yourself some questions: * Does your book present useful information and is that information currently relevant? * Will you book positively affect the lives of your readers? * Is your book dynamic and will it keep the reader's attention? * Does you book answer questions that are meaningful and significant? If you can answer yes to these questions, you can feel confident about the potential of your ebook. Another important step is to figure out who your target audience is. It is this group of people you will be writing to, and this group will dictate many elements of your book, such as style, tone, diction, and even length. Figure out the age range of your readers, their general gender, what they are most interested in, and even the socio-economic group they primarily come from. Are they people who read fashion magazines or book reviews? Do they write letters in longhand or spend hours every day online. The more you can pin down your target audience, the easier it will be to write your book for them. Next, make a list of the reasons you are writing your ebook. Do you want to promote your business? Do you want to bring quality traffic to your website? Do you want to enhance your reputation? Then write down your goals in terms of publishing. Do you want to sell it as a product on your website, or do you want to offer it as a free gift for filling out a survey or for ordering a product? Do you want to use the chapters to create an e-course, or use your ebook to attract affiliates around the world? The more you know upfront, the easier the actual writing will be. Decide on the format of your chapters. In non-fiction, keep the format from chapter to chapter fairly consistent. Perhaps you plan to use an introduction to your chapter topic, and then divide it into four subhead topics. Or you may plan to divide it into five parts, each one beginning with a relevant anecdote. How to make your ebook "user friendly" You must figure out how to keep your writing engaging. Often anecdotes, testimonials, little stories, photos, graphs, advice, and tips will keep the reader turning the pages. Sidebars are useful for quick, accessible information, and they break up the density of the page. Write with a casual, conversational tone rather than a formal tone such as textbook diction. Reader's respond to the feeling that you are having a conversation with them. Break up the length and structure of your sentences so you don? t hypnotize your readers into sleep. Sentences that are all the same length and structure tend to be a good aid for insomnia! Good writing takes practice. It takes lots and lots of practice. Make a schedule to write at least a page a day. Read books and magazines about the process of writing, and jot down tips that jump out at you. The art of writing is a lifetime process; the more you write (and read), the better your writing will become. The better your writing becomes, the bigger your sales figures. In an ebook that is read on the screen, be aware that you must give your reader's eye a break. You can do this by utilizing white space. In art classes, white space is usually referred to as "negative space." Reader's eyes need to rest in the cool white oasises you create on your page. If your page is too dense, your reader will quit out of it as soon as their eyes begin to tear. Make use of lists, both bulleted and numbered. This makes your information easy to absorb, and gives the reader a mental break from dissecting your paragraphs one after the other. Finally, decide on an easy-to-read design. Find a font that's easy on the eyes, and stick to that font family. Using dozens of fonts will only tire your readers out before they've gotten past your introduction. Use at least one and a half line spacing, and text large enough to be read easily on the screen, but small enough so that the whole page can be seen on a computer screen. You will have to experiment with this to find the right combination. Of course, don't forget to run a spell and grammar check. You are judged by something as minor as correct punctuation, so don? t mess up a great book by tossing out semicolons randomly, or stringing sentences together with commas. (By the way, that's called a "comma splice.") Last of all, create an index and a bibliography. That's it! You've written a book! Now all you have to do is publish your ebook online, and wait for download request from your website visitors.

How to write a user friendly ebook

Right now, someone, somewhere will be embarking on the writing of an eBook. Why? Some do it to make some money; it’s one of the easiest ways to start an online business. Others do it to share information they may have for those in similar financial, social or medical situations; maybe you want to share how you beat cancer or how you got out of debt. Whatever your reason, there are some basic rules to consider that will make the final product more professional and. So, let look at some of them. Anyone that embarks on writing an eBook will undoubtedly have read many as well. You will know from this that you must write in an appealing way that maintains the reader’s attention. After all, you want them to read ALL your eBook don’t you? Plus, you’ll want them to come back for more if you are building an online business. There are many tricks you can use to keep your readers’ attention. Anecdotes give practical examples of what you are trying to explain. These give readers confidence that what you are saying really does work. They are also a great way of explaining complicated topics. Images are also a powerful tool. They can make topics clearer and they will stick in a reader’s mind longer than 5000 words of text. They also break the eBook up and give the reader “markers” to parts that interest them. Note-boxes or sidebars are also good for summarizing a point or providing additional information. Like images, they break the text up and make the reading experience more enjoyable. Write in a conversational style so the reader feels that you are talking just to them. This way they feel that they are the only one benefiting from your information and that makes it more valuable to them. Don’t write long sentences or paragraphs. They become difficult to read and detract from the experience. Your eBook is more likely to be put down and not picked up again. You should also change the length of your paragraphs and sentences so you don’t send your readers to sleep. Blocks of text that are all the same length will lose the reader’s attention and you’ll be lucky of they are awake by Page 10! We mentioned earlier the use of images as a way of breaking up text. It may be that you can’t use images to any great extent; but there are other tricks. A very powerful one is the use of numbered and bulleted lists. Even with the most basic of word-processing programs you can include different types of bullets and even use custom pictures as bullet icons. These make your topic easier for the reader to absorb and also to give them a mental break from blocks of text. Finally, think about the design of your eBook. Select a font that's easy to read, and stick to it. You may be tempted to change fonts as a way of trying to make it more interesting. Don’t. All it does is confuse your readers and they will switch-off. I recommend either one and a half or double line spacing. Spacing the lines too far apart make it difficult for the reader to track where they are. Too close makes it dull. Also, choose a font size that is in proportion to the line spacing you are using. You can get away with a larger font (say 14 point) with 1.5 line spacing but 8 point will look weird. Experiment with different combinations to find one that suits you but remember - what looks OK on the screen may look dreadful in print. Think about how your readers are probably going to read the final eBook (most print PDF eBooks – the idea of the paperless world is myth!). Lastly, add page numbers and a header to each page with the title of your eBook. I’ve lost count of the number of times I have been infuriated by the number of eBooks that don’t have page numbers. Also, adding a title in the header is a good way of reminding the reader what they are reading and who wrote it. Don’t overcrowd headers and footers but use them wisely to give branding to the eBook (your company name or web address if you sell online). Most importantly, don't forget to do a proper spelling and grammar check. You can even go to somewhere like elance and get someone to proof read it for you (for a fee). It’s worth it to end up with a credible eBook. Like it or not, you and your topic will be judged by the standard of spelling and punctuation. Don’t shortcut on quality for fear of some criticism. It’s better to find out before it is published. That's it! By following the simple steps above you have just written your eBook. All that is left for you to do is publish it online and get visitors to your website so they can read it. But those topics are a whole new ball-game and best left for another day.

How to write lightening fast ebooks

The quickest way the write you own eBooks is by using the expert interview process. What I mean by this is, approaching some experts in the field your writing the book on and asking them to agree to do an interview. If you approach these experts correctly, they will provide you with expert responses to all your questions. You will find these experts by checking search engines or related niche forums. The easiest way to contact these experts, is by email with a list of questions. Before you submit questions or contact your expert, do your research on him/her. You need to approach these experts correctly therefore you need to consider the following points. Keep your questions short and too the point: You will turn the person off if you are asking long winded questions, long questions lead to long answers and you don’t want your expert to spend too much time. Give a good introduction of yourself at the start of the email. You will have a better chance of reply because the respondent can evaluate you. Take care of spelling and grammar: One spelling/grammar mistake could destroy your chances of getting the interview. Have a deadline: You must have a deadline. This will help you plan your writing better and it will force your respondent to reply quicker. Object of the interview: You must let the respondent know what the interview is for. For example is it for an ebook to resell or a free bonus to give away. Appreciate the respondent: Let the expert know that you are a fan of his/her business or website etc. This helps get a much more positive response. Something in return: The responder has to get something in return. He/She is not going to give time to do the interview for nothing. An example of an offer would usually consist of offering to share the profits of the ebook. So believe me when I say this, if you approach these experts correctly you could get a huge volume of feedback and enough material to combine a best selling eboook
