    The history of pai gow

Tracing its roots to ancient Chinese gaming, Pai Gow is literally translated as “make nine”. Pai Gow is a Chinese game, believed to be thousands of years old, and played with Chinese domino tile sets. The beauty of Pai Gow has attracted the curiosity of gaming audiences in cities such as Nevada and California. In ancient Chinese, the translation of p’ai is a term designated both for cards and dominoes. The reason for the use on both objects is that there is no main difference between dominoes and cards in China. During the early Chinese dynasties, dominoes are precisely used as cards. Dominoes are packed and treated the same way as cards. Prior to the birth of Pai Gow, there were already two old Chinese gambling games that may have been the reason for the development of Pai Gow. They are yu-p’u and yeh-tza. Some players consider the two games as card games. There are others, however, who consider that the game of yu-p’u to be similar to a modern poker dice or something similar to it. Only the game of yeh-tza might be considered as a card game since it literally means leaves. Many authors believe that the possibility of using leaves as cards is very apparent. The movement of time and the availability of new materials paved the way for the formation Ku P’ai, which curiously resembles a game using dominoes. It is further believed that yu-p’u, the ancient form of gambling considered as poker dice game, is the root of Chinese domino games. A domino, after all, is nothing but a pair of dice placed side by side. Chinese dominoes, which could be traced from the writings during Song Dynasty (1120 AD), have developed since then. They are used in several tile-based games, namely, Pai Gow, Tien Gow, Gwat Pai, Che Deng, Tiu U, Kap Tai Shap. Pai Gow today is played very similar to many existing card games. The only main difference is that domino tiles are used instead of cards. The similarities to card games such as poker could make Pai Gow something to be enjoyed as a recreational card game. There is no doubt about it; those who begin to learn Pai Gow often end up becoming more than enthusiastic about the game. After all, it only takes a very short time to realize the beauty and ease in playing this popular Chinese game. The popularity of Pai Gow has ushered into the development of Pai Gow Poker, an American version of the popular Chinese Pai Gow. It is a game played using cards, instead of the traditional dominoes, and is growing in popularity in various casinos as a source of amusement and fun.

    The history of poker

Poker is a card game with many theories about its history and many debates about its origins. Poker may have been around for more than ten centuries in the form of other card games. It is believed that the word 'poker' was derived from an underworld slang word 'poke' - this was a term used for pickpockets. When card-sharks cheated somebody out of their money they boasted about having 'poked' that person. An 'r' was added to the term 'poke' so that the sharks could refer to what they were doing in front of their victims, who would be none the wiser! While there seems to be no clear ancestor to the game, for the United States at least, Poker has a definite history. Poker began in New Orleans when the French settlers introduced poque in the 18th century. This was a card game which involved betting and bluffing and there are many game historians who believe that this is where poker originates. There have been many modifications to the game, including 'stud poker', the 'draw' and the 'straight' which became popular during the Civil War. Slowly 'poker', as the game became known, spread to other states via steamboats, wagons and trains. Poker initially began with a deck of 20 cards, and eventually evolved into a deck of 32 cards. During the 1830s a 52 card deck became the norm. In 1875 the joker was introduced as a wild card. At the end of the Civil War poker reached the towns of the Old West. It wasn't long before they realized that easy money could be made from playing (or perhaps cheating at) poker. Legends were created involving the potent mixture of saloons, poker and guns. Brave gamblers in the old west towns of Dodge City and Deadwood could be found taking their chances with their backs to the walls and their guns at the ready. By the end of the 19th century, gambling and poker had spread throughout both the United States and the world. American states and cities began to see an opportunity for raising money. They taxed the gambling dens to raise money for their communities. Nowadays casinos have taken over from the saloons and the game is strictly regulated by gambling laws. It is played more than any other card game in the world and has even become a sporting event, offering very rich pickings for the serious player. Finally, there is no doubt that poker has a rich and interesting history.

    The history of poker games

Poker has a mysterious past and cannot be definitely traced to a certain point in the history of card playing. It resembles a Persian game, which went by the name of NAS and may have been brought to the states via sailing ships the anchored in New Orleans. French Canadians who came down to New Orleans and helped to settle the city may have also brought poker to New Orleans. From the city of New Orleans, the game traveled up river on the Mississippi as the gambling game of choice on paddle wheelers. The steamboat game that was played at the time was 5-card stud. This game grew in popularity and was taken to heart by the soldiers and frontiersmen that came into contact with it in the saloons that were located on the river. From there it moved west and east, as travelers liked the game as a game to gamble on among friends. The game really moved west during the outbreak of the gold rush and then grew in popularity during the Civil War. Between the soldiers playing the game and the fact that every saloon offered the game to its patrons, the country became hooked on poker. After the Civil War, the game changed to 5-card draw as you could get more bets in on a single hand and it brought the art of bluffing to a new height since a player was not showing any of their cards. 7-card stud then replaced this game and then the game of Texas Holdem came into being and is now the most popular game of poker of all time. Poker is played by all classes of people and is one of the most popular games played in Washington DC by the politicians and even the President in the time of Truman. With this acceptance by both high society and the common man, the game as we now see it on TV has a following that is hard to ignore The birth of the Internet and the addition to this service of poker has led to the astronomical numbers of people playing online on any given day. This one thing opened the floodgates of players from all over the world. Now days you can play in the local poker room or online at a time of your choosing. Your choice of game can be varied online as most online poker rooms offer a selection of games as well as limits for those games. You can also choose between a ring game or playing in a tournament. The prize money offered and the entry fees differentiate the tournament choices. There is a tournament for any player. The game has come along way from the early days on the Mississippi and no one could have predicted how this game would permeate the various classes of people the way it has in the last 25 years.

    The history of roulette

Roulette is a very common game of gambling that can be found in every casino, whether online or land based. The variety of betting opportunities and play in roulette has helped to make it one of the most popular and abundant forms of gaming available to players of chance. Roulette is played by having gamblers bet their money on the odds of a ball in a large wheel landing in a pocket. There are 37 or 38 pockets, depending on the version of roulette the gambler is playing. Pockets are numbered 1 to 36 (with one zero or double zeroes constituting the final pockets) and are alternately colored red or black. Players who make a winning bet receive odds of 35 to win, and also recover their original bet. Bets can be placed in a variety of ways, on individual numbers, colors, or combinations, ranges, odds, or evens. Blaise Pascal invented the first roulette wheel. Pascal was a mathematician, and the invention has been attributed to his fascination with perpetual motion devices. Originally, the roulette wheel did not include the number 0, but it was added by the Blanc brothers (Louis and Francois) in 1842 in order to increase the house odds. Roulette spread quickly throughout Europe and North America. In the United States, American Roulette was invented when the double zero was added to the wheel, sometimes substituted with the American Eagle. Roulette was among the first casino games, as it was Blanc himself who established the first casino in the famous Monte Carlo resort area. Roulette is also invariably tied in to the portrayal of gambling as evil, as the addition of all the numbers on the roulette wheel (1 to 36) the number is that of the Beast of Revelation story, 666. Keep in mind while you are gambling that it was a mathematician who invented the roulette wheel, and that he knew that in order to gain a profit the house would have to take the majority of the money. Another, perhaps more famous, mathematician is known to have decried the game of roulette; Albert Einstein has been quoted as saying “You cannot beat a roulette table unless you steal money from it." Despite detractors, many gamblers continue to hope that they odds will favor them when it comes to the wheel. Many try variations on the Martingale Betting Strategy, wherein a losing bet is doubled in the next round in order that the original amount is recouped while the original bet is still gained. This strategy can potentially lead to a disastrous financial loss. Regardless of the chances an individual has at winning in roulette, there are always at least a few payouts and the game has so many variations that it can be a fun experience. As in any game of chance, the key to roulette is knowing when to draw the line and get up from the table.

The history of seven card stud poker

As it is with most popular card games, the origins of Poker and the history of 7 Card Stud Poker are shrouded in mystery. No one is entirely sure how or where the game began. Further, when considering the history of 7 Card Stud Poker, you should first know how Poker is thought to have come about. There are many theories about the history of Poker and the history of 7 Card Stud Poker. The most commonly held belief is the name Poker came from the French card game Poque (from the German word pochen, which means “to knock). However, the game itself more closely resembles a Persian game called Nas, which was played with a five-suit deck. Likely the game of Poker as we know it resulted from some combination of Poque and as Nas. The concept of bluffing in Poker came from still another source: the English game brag (first spelled Bragg), which is very similar to Poker but played using only three cards. The first recorded instance of Poker in the United States was an 1829 game in New Orleans, played with a 20-card deck consisting of all cards with values of 10 and higher (four tens, four jacks, four queens, four kings and four aces). The game was not named, but the object was to bet on whose five-card hand contained the highest cards. This game soon spread to Mississippi riverboats, where con artists used a 52-card variant to bilk unwary travelers and claim their “pokes,” or gambling money stashes. Author Jonathan H. Green described this “cheating card game” in one of his books, and some give Green credit for coining the final term of “Poker.” Stud Poker emerged during the American Civil War. Some attribute the invention of stud, or stud-horse as it was sometimes called, to cowboys around Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. 5 Card Stud was the first version played, appearing in The American Hoyle as an “official” Poker variant in 1864. Still, draw Poker was the favored variation until someone--no one is certain exactly whom--introduced 7 Card Stud in the early 20th century. The game remained the most popular form of professional and casino Poker until the 1980’s, when a slight twist on 7 Card Stud called Texas Hold ‘Em overtook the traditional version to become the favorite among gamblers and casual players alike. The majority of Poker tournaments are based on core games of 7 Card Stud or variations of it. Binions Casino, the founder of the largest professional Poker tournament in existence--the World Series of Poker--began a Poker Hall of Fame to commemorate the greatest Poker players in history. Among them are “Wild Bill” Hicock, who was shot and killed during a Poker game holding a two-pair hand of aces over eights (which is still known as a “dead man’s hand” among gamblers); and “Red” Hodges, considered the greatest 7 Card Stud Poker player to have ever lived. 7 Card Stud is still an immensely popular game in Vegas, home games and Internet casinos.

    The history of sic bo

The history of Sic Bo dates back to the game’s origins in ancient China, the term Sic Bo meaning literally “dice pair”, although to add an element of oriental intrigue into the equation the game is actually played with three dice! Sic Bo is, in essence, a simple dice game; historically it is thought that the game was played with bricks, tumbled between two plates and an overturned bowl, which over time was adapted to the dice and cage shaker variant common in today’s casino versions. The ancient game of Sic Bo is also as Tai Sai, “Lucky Dice” and as “Hi Lo” in the Philippines. In Macau the game is widely played under the name “Dai Siu”, meaning “Big Small”, referring to the most popular betting option. The game is also similar in concept to an English game called “Grand Hazard.” Throughout the history of Sic Bo the game has been throughout Southeast Asia, Korea, China and increasingly, due in part to the movement of populations from those countries to the west during the nineteenth century, it has gained popularity in the West and is now played in many Western casinos. The object is to bet on the outcome of a role of the three dice, to include combinations of any two or three of the dice, single numbers, two of a kind or three of a kind. Sic Bo payouts can be very large as the maximum odds are 180:1 for a specific triple (this requires all three of the dice to show the selected triple e. g. 3 x 2). At the lower end of the spectrum payouts of 1:1 are for betting on the value of just one dice. Similarly paying out 1:1 are “Small bets”, a wager that the total of the three dice will be between 4 and 10 (although this does not payout for triple 1, 2 or 3), and “Big Bets”, which require the total of the three dice to be between 11 and 17 (excluding triple 4 and 5). The game is played on a table that illustrates the 50 permissible bets in pictorial form, with their associated payout. Players place their bets on the appropriate section of the gaming table, much like in roulette. The dice are usually tumbled in a basket by the dealer, who will enter the results on the table, and the winning combinations are then lit up. Finally, the dealer will pay-out the lucky winners and remove the unsuccessful bets.

The history of texas holdem poker

Texas Holdem is a variety of Poker, a card game which originated in the 19th century. The origins of Poker are still disputed to this day, with a number of conflicting accounts about where it came from, and who first played it; similar games exist back to the Renaissance period. The word ‘Poker’ actually comes from the German word ‘pochen’, which means “to knock”. However, most accounts generally agree that it was French settlers who first played Poker in New Orleans around 1830. It may have been introduced to them by Persian traders, as it bears strong similarities with the 16th century Persian card game As Nas. The popularity of Poker meant that it quickly spread throughout the USA, along the transport routes of rivers and railroads. It became especially popular when played amongst cowboys in the Old West. Texas Holdem, or Hold’em as it is also known, is today one of the most popular versions of Poker in the world. Although nobody is really sure where this version was first played, it seems clear that Texas was the state of origin! Some reports say that the first ever game was played in Robstown in the 1900s and it spread to Dallas in 1925. Texas Holdem has enjoyed widespread recognition ever since. The popularity of Texas Holdem was widely increased in 1970. In this year, the Horseshoe Hotel and Casino was opened in Las Vegas by Benny Binion. Binion decided to take over a small invitational Poker tournament from Riverside Casino’s Tom Morehead. What as the name of the tournament? The World Series of Poker and the game of choice was Texas Holdem. Binion focused on the gambling element of the game by devising the idea of rapidly increasing antes and blinds, so that a winner could be produced within a relatively short space of time. In 1972, 8 players took part in the World Series of Poker tournament; thirty years later, the 8 had increased to 800! This annual tournament is now recognised as the most important in the world. In the last five years, the increasing popularity of televised tournaments means that Texas Holdem has become a part of mainstream television. Additionally, through modern innovations in technology, Texas Holdem Poker has branched off in new directions. Games can now be played directly through the internet, or even on a cell phone! The game’s simplicity and huge entertainment value have contributed to its popularity, which shows no sign of decrease. Texas Holdem is clearly the most famous Poker game in the world.

The history of the bingo game

The bingo game is one of the most popular games in the world today. Most people are familiar with bingo games in town halls. Now there is a relatively new trend – the online bingo game. Have you ever wondered where it all started? The modern day bingo game was originally a form of lottery. When Italy was united in 1530, the government instituted the Italian National Lottery. The Lottery has been held almost every week since then. Today the Lottery is absolutely indispensable to the Italian government - earning more than $75 million yearly! In 1778 Lotto caught the attention of the intellectuals. The classic Lotto game consisted out of a card that was divided into three horizontal and nine vertical rows. Each horizontal row had five numbered and four blank squares in a random arrangement. The vertical rows contained numbers from 1 to 10, the second numbers from 11 to 20, continuing up to 90. All the Lotto cards were unique. Players would be dealt a single lotto card, whilst someone would draw chips, marked from 1 to 90, from a bag and read the number aloud. Players covered the numbers on their cards if it were read. The first player to cover a complete horizontal row was the winner. In the 1800’s educational games became popular. Lotto games were adapted to teach children spelling, multiplication tables, animals and history. Even today, in the very competitive toy and game market, similar games are popular. One evening in December 1929, toy salesman Edwin S. Lowe stopped at a carnival a few miles outside Jacksonville. Everything was closed except for one booth. The booth was packed with people. Someone would draw numbers from a bag and read it aloud. The players would all check their cards to see whether they got the number. The winner was the first person who filled a horizontal, vertical or diagonal row of numbers and yelled “Beano”. The winner would than receive a small Kewpie doll as price. As you can guess, this game was called Beano. Lowe, who has owned his own toy store for about a year, saw the potential of the game immediately. Back home he bought some card and a rubber number stamp and produced his own beano game. Testing it on his friends he soon realized that the game was almost addictive and lots of fun. When one of his friends yelled Bingo instead of beano he knew he had found the name of his new game! The first Lowe bingo game had two variations – a 12 card set for one dollar and a 24 card set for two dollar. The game was an instant success and soon became popular. Of course he was not the only one to recognize the potential of the bingo game. Many imitators soon tried to market the game. Lowe could not patent the game, but offered to pay his competitors $1 if they would call it Bingo. A few months later Lowe was approached by a priest from a small parish. Someone in his parish suggested that they use the bingo game as a fundraiser to help the church out of its financial trouble. The priest bought a few sets of Lowe’s bingo game, but unfortunately always had six or more winners. Lowe immediately saw the potential expansion of the game, but also knew that a huge variation of numbers for the bingo cards will have to be developed. He asked an elderly mathematics professor at Columbia University, Carl Leffler, to devise 6,000 new cards with non-repeating numbers. The professor agreed for a fee for each new card. But, as the professor continued, he found that it became increasingly difficult to produce new bingo cards. Lowe was impatient and at the end he paid Leffler more than $100 per new bingo card. Finally the task was completed, but rumor had it that the professor lost his sanity! Soon the bingo game was one of the most popular games in North America, and it remains so until today. Many associate it with fundraising, but today Bingo is much more than a fundraiser in church halls. About ten years ago the online bingo game was developed. Within five years it became even more popular than going to the movies or concerts! Many would agree that online bingo games are the best thing since sliced bread. Of course online bingo is much more than just a game. It is a place to be with friends and to relax. Who would have guessed that one of the best games ever had such a long history?

    The history of video poker

Video Poker is simply a combination of two popular forms of gambling: the slot machine with the poker game. Winning a game of Video Poker involves a combination of player skill with genuine luck, making it a favorite with players. The game of poker is thought to have originated back in 1830, where it is recorded as having been played by French immigrants living in New Orleans. Video Poker uses a version of the game called five-card draw poker. Meanwhile, the coin-operated card machine (known affectionately as a “slot”) was originally invented in the late 19th century, with poker machines appearing in San Francisco in 1890. These machines were very basic by today’s standards, using real cards rather than symbols. The machines declined in popularity throughout the first half of the 20th century. Economic difficulties combined with the limited technology of the machines themselves meant that people just weren’t interested in playing anymore. A very primitive electronic poker machine was released in 1964 but achieved only moderate success. It wasn’t until the mid-1970s that the Video Poker machine as we know it today became available. Advances in technology meant that a central processing unit (CPU) could be installed inside the machines to give them a “brain”, whilst a monitor transmitted the action to the player. Meanwhile, casino operators searched for new high-profit games, and the combination of a slot machine with the more traditional game of five-card draw poker proved to be a winning combination of the old and new. The first Video Poker machine was built in 1976 by Bally Manufacturing. It was black and white only, but a color version followed just eight months later, released by the Fortune Coin Company. Over the next few years, computer chips became cheaper to mass produce, and more casinos introduced Video Poker machines as they became more financially viable. A version called Draw Poker was released in 1979 by a company now called IGT, and it achieved unheralded success. Video Poker really took off in the early 1980s where it became popular in casinos across Las Vegas. Players found themselves far less intimidated by a machine than they were when sitting down at a table in front of others. The popularity of the game has steadily increased during the last quarter-century and it can now be found in the majority of casinos around the world, as well as in bars and on the Internet.

The importance of poker position and how to bet

Texas Holdem is all about people and position. All rounded holdem players agree that position in no limit texas holdem is fundamentally important. Playing your hole cards in late position can be much more profitable than in early poker position. The reason because much more information is gathered before acting. For example, I was playing a $1-$2 no limit cash game at a local spot. I limped in with 2 , 9 unsuited (a terrible hand) on the dealer button, just to see some action. Flop came down A - A -4 . A player in early position made a $15 bet. Two players fold and it was my turn to act. I should have folded, but his play seemed a bit off. I identified this player as a weak-tight player earlier, and typically if he had the best hand he would just check. I thought, ‘if he held trips, why would he raise so early instead of checking and try to trap other players.’ I didn’t put him on an Ace this time, so I called. The turn came down with a 7 , making it A - A -4 -7 . My opponent made another bet of $20. I hesitated a bit, but made a split decision to reraise another $30 on top of his $20. He folds and I take the pot down. Playing late position gives you an idea where you stand by observing how players react and bet. On the other hand, players at early position may us their poker position to check-raise the late positioned aggressors and trap them later at the end. In Texas Holdem, both ends, late and early should be played cautiously regardless. How to Bet A bet is a declaration that you have a good hand. When a player raises, they are proclaiming they have the best hand and they’ll wager money on it. Typically, players are supposed to raise when they have a good hand and those who have a bad hand are suppose to fold. If everyone stuck to this policy, there would be no need for any strategy. However, most players play contrary to this idea and attempt to be cunning and deceptive. The following descriptions are strategic plays: Blind-Stealing: When you are on the dealer button and only you have the blinds are left, a raise is often called blind-stealing. This may cause the blinds to fold, stead of simply checking. This strategy will never make you rich, but ends the game fast so you may be dealt a new hand (and adds a few chips to your stack). Blind stealing is a tremendous tactic within a tournament game, especially when the blinds become very high. Steal-Raise: If you are the last to act and all players have checked to you, a simple raise can limit the number of active players or take the pot. This move is only recommended if you’ve hit a piece of the flop and want to see where you stand. Check-Raising: The act of checking to your opponent with the intention of luring them to raise, so that you can reraise them back. Your intention is to lure them to feel secure about their hand and betting so you can reraise back at them. For example, I was in early position and was holding AQ and the flop came down as Q-A-A. I didn’t want to scare anyone out of the pot so I checked and waited for someone to bet. My opponent bets, and I raise him back with a substantial amount that kept him thinking for a minute. The Opener: Raising when you’re first to act. This strategy is used to limit the number of players and is an information bet (usually players with strong hands will call). Many will fold, but the ones remaining will either be equally aggressive or truly have a good hand. Squeezing: Raising when suspecting another player or players may be on a draw (players looking for a straight, flush, etc). Raising discourages players taking a chance on their draws. For example, I was holding a suited hand J10, and the flop came down as 2-A-8 with two clubs on the community. One more club would have gave me a strong flush possibility, but my opponent bet a strong amount that wasn’t worth gambling if I didn’t hit my flush.

The info you need to play a free online casino game

Many people may be wondering what an online casino is. It is a virtual replica of a land based casino, a place where people can play a casino game (any casino game in fact, this being one of the advantages of an online casino). Another advantage of this kind of casino is the possibility to play a free online casino game. There are two types of players: the ones that play for the money and the ones that play just for fun. The second category now has another option. If they don’t want to go to the casino and spend money while playing, they can choose a free online casino game. Now what’s that? you might ask. A free online casino game is a casino game that you can play for free, just like the name says. The advantage of a free online casino game is that you can enjoy yourself but you won’t loose any money while doing so. These free gaming sites can’t be called online casinos because a casino involves loosing or winning money. When you start playing on this type of gaming site you receive an online casino bonus in the form of credits, points or even currency. This casino bonus will be your virtual money which you can bet with. This is the beauty of a free online casino game: you play, you enjoy yourself, but your pockets are as full as they were when you started. Another advantage of a free online casino game is that it eliminates the stress factor. Any person who plays in a real casino will be under a lot of stress if he looses all of his money. Fortunately this will not happen with a free online casino game. If you loose all your credits, then you can just ask for more or wait another 24 hour for your credit to restore, depending on the rules of the site. People have been trying to compare online casinos with land based casinos ever since competition appeared between the two. This is a very tricky thing to do because both have their advantages and disadvantages. It depends on how every person looks at the problem. Suitability is questionable when deciding between a normal casino or an online casino. If you want to play a casino game for fun you should consider going to a land based casino because it’s a lot more fun. You’ll be able to interact with other people, meet a lot of interesting persons, maybe even persons like you who come there for fun and not necessarily for the winnings. At a normal casino you can be caught in the moment and do all kind of crazy things; it’s not necessary to play the games. You can just go there walk around, enjoy your drink and go home. On the other hand the online casino experience is different. Most of the players prefer it not for fun necessarily, except when you play a free online casino game, but for the financial improvements. Usually people that play at an online casino play for the money. The experience is a lot colder, you won’t be able to interact with anyone, you won’t be able to meet anyone, and you basically play to earn money. So, depending on what you want, you can make a choice. The thing with online casinos is that everything happens a lot faster and that is absolutely understandable because one of the defining proprieties of the Internet is speed. This speed can be a good thing, but it usually means otherwise because it increases the loosing of money. This is one of the reasons more and more people stop playing online. So, to stop people from giving up their favorite virtual games, a new concept has been introduced: the online casino bonus. This online casino bonus doesn’t have a real life equivalent, like a casino bonus or something else; it’s a strictly online bonus. This online casino bonus is a sum of money the casino gives you when you deposit money into an account. It’s virtual money which you can use to play. An online casino bonus can come in different forms, depending on the policy of the casino. It can be a fixed bonus, which means you get a certain amount of money no matter what amount you deposit. Another type of bonus is the variable bonus, this means you gat a certain percent of the sum you deposit. The percentage is different for each site - it can be 20% or 50%. Some casinos even give a 100% casino bonus. This is a way to get people back in the virtual game rooms, but an online casino bonus means that you have to play by some rules especially when you want to redraw your money. This is difficult because when you get an online casino bonus you have to meet some conditions which are not very easily accomplished. However, your efforts will be rewarded. There is a category of people who play online just for the online casino bonus. They are called casino bonus hunters. These people look for the sites where the casino bonus is the largest so they can scam the casino. Being a bonus hunter is not a brilliant idea because, when you get caught, all your rights are revoked and you won’t be able to get a bonus on that site again. So it doesn’t matter whether you play for the money or just for the fun of it because, whatever choice you make, you must think of your actions thoroughly before. And if you do pick an online casino you have to be attentive also because, if you don’t, you won’t get the results you expected.

The joys of playing internet poker

I started playing poker on the internet about six months ago and I must say I absolutely love it. I had had no real interest in poker until I watched it at a friends house on satellite TV. The tournament was the World Series of Poker and my friend who was a huge fan of poker was explaining the rules as I was watching. Over the next few months I continued to watch the poker on TV and became more and more interested. I thought, I could do that and organised a game with a few friends. It was a good evening, even though I ended up losing some money, maybe its not as easy as it looks, I thought to myself. One day I was discussing my new found interest with a colleague at work. He confirmed that it was also an interest of his and stated that he played poker online. He described the bonuses involved and the fact you are able to interact with the other players via a chat box, very similar to that of a chatroom. I decided to check it out for myself and started playing at sporting odds. I now play virtually every day and find it very relaxing. For me the best thing about online poker is the fact that you can play so many more hands per hour than you can in the house or at a casino. Stephen Hill

    The legality of online poker

The topic of whether online poker is legal or illegal is frankly quite interesting. Typically, gambling is managed by each individual state, and as a result some states have legalized gambling and casinos and others do not. However, the internet is not something that can be managed by each state because it is global, there are no controls so to speak by individual countries, states, or governments on the Internet because it is like another world. But, back to the legality of poker online, a question that has no answer or many answers depending on how you look at it. There is no precedent set for gambling online, as a result there is no way to say that gambling online is legal, illegal, or none of the above. In fact, you could answer yes, no, or maybe, and be just as right with any of these answers. The Wire Act is one issues people say that makes gambling online illegal because it bans gambling by phone, however there is no precedent set that makes this statement valid regarding Internet gambling. As a result, while there are plenty of ways to infer gambling online is illegal, there is no way to prove so until a precedent is set. Setting a legal precedent requires someone being charged with playing online poker and then being found guilty. As of yet, not one single American soul out of the millions who play online poker each and every day has ever been charged, fined, or convicted of this act. You might find this information not very helpful because your question is whether or not you can safely play poker online and not worry about breaking the law or being subjected to prosecution or fines of any type. Well, there is no outright answer, which favors playing poker online because there is nothing saying you absolutely cannot play poker online. Even if your state does not have legalized gambling or casinos, you can still play poker online and not worry about the authorities catching you and giving you a ticket. At the moment in time, finding all the online poker players, and fining them is not the main goal of states, and until there is some definitive statement regarding online poker you should play your heart away. Additionally, the fact that no legal precedent exists regarding online poker means you really have nothing to worry about. However, if you are really concerned about the legality, or illegality, of playing poker online you should play and keep your ear out for any new information on the subject, or else avoid the game altogether because if you are so worried about the legality of online poker you won’t really be able to enjoy playing the game. Online Poker Beginnings Poker and gambling has been popular for years, however many states have outlawed the activity relegating die hard fans to travel to the likes of Las Vegas, Atlantic City, or even the Cherokee Reservation in North Carolina to play their beloved game. However, not everyone can afford to travel to one of these destinations to play poker, nor do individuals have the time to do so on a regular basis. So, what was the average person who loved poker supposed to do if his buddies couldn’t play one Saturday night? Before online poker there were few options, now, no matter where you live you can play poker online to your hearts desire. You can play at night, in the morning, while eating lunch, or working as well. Online poker allows you to play your favorite game whenever and wherever you like! At first, people thought this was an amazing idea, but they were also very cautious as well because the Internet was new, there was little understanding on how one could actually win money in an online poker game and then receive the money, there was mistrust, and simply confusion. But, the poker websites started offering security measures, large bonuses, and benefits for online players and little by little individuals started playing poker online. The first players of online poker shared their success stories with friends and family members, as well as boasting about the security measures and the safety of playing online. This word of mouth advertising in addition to the advertising by the online poker sites really attracted new players and now in just a few short years online poker sites are some of the most popular sites on the web and there are people who play online poker every single day. If you had asked poker players 20 years ago what they thought of playing poker at home on a computer rather than in the casino you probably would have gotten some really strange looks and resounding negative responses. However, the age of the Internet has changed people and whether it is shopping, paying bills, or playing poker online the Internet is making everything easier and more accessible to the masses. Before, poker was a game of the wealthy who had the money to spend on a long vacation to a poker hot spot. Now, poker is a game of the every day man or woman that enjoys a hand of poker, but has neither the time nor the money to travel all over the country to play. This huge growth in online poker is what has so many people worried about the legality of it and whether or not laws will be passed to regulate online pokers sites. While the future is unknown regarding online poker sites and whether they will be considered legal, illegal, or just another website remains to be seen, but until then simply log on to your favorite online gambling website and play to your hearts desire.

The lessons of the gambler or getting the most out of your online casino experience

: People are just wild about gambling (ourselves included), and that goes for the brick-and-mortar and online casino varieties both. It’s a rush -- like a roller coaster -- a visceral experience that gets our heart pumping, our blood racing, and our neurons firing. And in the excitement of it all, far too often, when we’re immersed in the thrill of the online casino experience, we leave our heads at the door. But Kenny Rogers had it right: You’ve got to know when to hold ‘em, when to fold ‘em, when to walk away, and when to run. A gambler needs to know his game. He needs to know when he’s in good shape and when he isn’t. He needs to know his odds at any given moment -- not necessarily the exact figure, but a general idea for sure. And he needs to know how to respond accordingly. More often than not, this means stepping back. In poker, this means folding. Not every hand is worth playing. We’ll say that again -- not every hand is worth playing. One clear sign of a novice at the poker table is indiscriminately calling every last bet. In blackjack, this means staying. In craps or roulette, this means placing more conservative types of bets and taking a break from those riskier though potentially more rewarding bets where the house advantage is astronomical. In slots (or any online casino game, for that matter), it could mean taking a break, period. You can always go back later. The online casino will still be there, welcoming you with open arms. Here’s what you do. Pick a dollar amount you plan to gamble that session and then stick to it. Decide on a strategy for dealing with winnings also, so that if you like you can prolong your online casino experience without blowing all you’ve just gained. Whatever you do, don’t chase your losses -- that’s the surest way to keep on losing. An excellent rule of thumb (that we know you’ve heard before) -- quit while you’re ahead. Keep in mind as well that you can (and probably will) get tired, the longer you play. Untold hours can pass like seconds when you’re playing at an online casino -- almost like magic. And just like the body in an athletic activity, the mind so engaged can and will grow fatigued, even when you’re sitting in your most comfortable chair, in your most comfortable clothes, with your refrigerator and bathroom both just a hop, skip, and jump away. You do yourself (or your wallet, or your boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse/child) no favors by continuing to play while you’re tired. Pause before you get exhausted.

One of the greatest things about an online casino is that it’s always there and open for business whenever you’re ready to go back. No harm will come in calling it quits while you recuperate. And speaking of recuperating, never borrow money or dip into savings to bet at the online casino in an effort to recover your losses. See above about chasing losses.

We believe we’ve made that point perfectly clear, yes? The singular key to getting the most out of your online casino experience is to have the right motivation in playing there in the first place. If you are playing at the online casino purely to make money, you will be sorely disappointed. - maybe not 100% of the time (and this alone is what makes the industry thrive so) but ultimately, and again and again. Sadly (but truly) windfalls are few and far between. The online casino is not the place for you to earn a living or to get out of debt. What’s it there for, then? In a word -- fun. You play at the online casino to have fun. As long as you’re having a good time, play on. But the instant it stops being fun, take a breake back later.

You play at the online casino for recreation -- and if you keep that in mind first and foremost then no matter the roll of the dice or the deal of the cards, you can’t lose.

The long road to casino gambling in thailand

On his weekly talk show, the Prime Minister of Thailand, in response to a question on gambling, stated that if the current government remains in place for at least four years, the Thaпs will see a casino in their country. There has been talk about building a casino in Thailand since 1997. Back then, the Interior Minister supported the idea but it didn’t get very far. In the year 2000, the Bangkok mayor thought it would be a good idea to put a casino in Bangkok, Pattaya, or Phuket. Then, in 2002, the Thai government went so far as to commission a study conducted by Chulalongkorn University. Again, nothing much happened. The Tourism and Sports Minister, in 2003, tried his hand at convincing the Thai people that a casino in Pattaya would be good for tourism, but his proposal didn’t go far. Later in 2003, under the former Prime Minister, Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra, again a proposal was made for an entertainment complex be built in Chon Buri (Pattaya) and the complex would include a casino. Public hearings were conducted in 2005 on establishing casinos in Thailand, and yet again, the voice of the people said "No." In March, 2008, the current Prime Minister, Samak Sundaravej, vowed to make gambling legal during his current term of office. There is still a long, uphill battle to opening a casino in Thailand. Mr. Samak will have to his best to convince the Thai people that this is in their best interest and will fund educational programs and promote tourism in the country. There will be many opponents who will argue against legalized gambling saying that it will harm the young people of Thailand. With a new Prime Minister calling the shots, and the former, deposed Prime Minister back in Bangkok, this latest chapter in the Thailand gambling annals may have a happy ending. Prime Minister Samak is also hoping that legal gambling will help in shutting down all of the illegal gambling dens throughout the country. Catering to tourists with pockets full of money, and depriving the local populace, will be an interesting juggling act. If the Prime Minister can convince the Thai people that now is the time for legalized gambling in Thailand, you can be sure that story after story about corruption will abound in the Thailand newspapers. Good luck, Mr. Samak, when rolling the dice. You will need it.
