My ideas for the valentine s day

Valentine's day is nearing. It is the day when the most unromantic soul will feel the love in the air. Can one imagine, what will happen to the lovers? They literally go mad with love. Thinking of ideas, meeting their love, exchanging gifts, expressing love. All the romantic lovers have already gone in the mood of valentine and are eagerly looking forward to it. Can one imagine the condition of one who has lost his Valentine? Whose Valentine has left him to some unknown place? Whose Valentine has left him alone to shed tears of loneliness? What thoughts will come in such a lover's mind. This poem is one such cry from a lover whose valentine has left him. My Ideas For The Valentine's Day. Valentine's What ideas can I think of? This Valentine's Day? To make you happy. To make you feel more of my love. For I don't know, where are you? What gift can I give you? Chocolates, a jewelry piece, or a cute teddy bear? On the Valentine's Day. For I don't know, where are you? What can I talk with you? What shall I hear from you? On the Valentine's Day. For I don't know, where are you? Who shall I tell about my worries? With who do I share my thoughts? With who shall I share my goals? On the Valentine's Day. For I don't know, where are you? Where have you gone? Why did you go away? Where do I search for you? When will you return to me? My Valentine. Where ever you are. Know this much, that I am mad in love with you. My heart cries for you. My eyes search for you. My soul is empty without you. For I love you. When I shall watch, other lovers. Meeting on The Valentine's Day. I will cry over my fate. I will cry over your absence. I will cry all alone. For there shall be no one, except God to hear my cries. I am waiting for you. Please come back. Oh, God, let her read this. Let her know that I am waiting.

Need the perfect gift for a hard to please teen try a black belt

Oh, I know you can’t give someone a black belt, any more than you can give them a high school diploma or a college degree. But you can give them a nudge in the right direction along with the financial resources to make the journey. And the martial arts journey is a secret dream of a surprising number of teens and preteens. So if you’re looking for the perfect gift for a hard-to-please teen or ‘tween’; if you want something they’ll like which will also help them (and maybe you!) through a tough stage of their life, give them a martial arts membership! It doesn’t need to be extravagant, such as paying a whole year’s dues. Three months, one month, or even one or two introductory lessons will do. After all, the quest for a black belt will take a few years, and can only be sustained through the internal motivation of the individual. No external motivation is going to last. But if the way is mapped out, if they are gently bumped into taking the first step, and if the destination is made tangible, they are more likely to begin. The complex chore of finding a school, talking to the adults there, breaking the news to parents or friends, and then getting the money together, can make it too overwhelming a task to attempt. If all this groundwork is done for them, though, a teen is much more likely at least to give it a try. And there are solid reasons that go far deeper than the clichйd list we’ve all heard: discipline, self-defense, higher self-esteem, etc. Yes, with a good school and instructor, these can be true. But why? How? Here are seven can’t-miss benefits of the martial arts. Can’t-Miss Benefit #1: A healthy alternative to electronics Martial arts practice is a fun, healthy, natural hobby. It makes a good alternative to kids living inside a video game, computer, television screen or cell phone. The martial arts get kids up, moving, and noticing the world around them (actually a requirement, since awareness is 90% of self-defense). I won’t trot out the statistics and details about child and adolescent illnesses, as in the areas of obesity, diabetes, ADD/ADHD, etc. You’ve heard them. But whatever concerns you may have for a teen’s health—or their future health given present habits—practicing the martial arts is a good antidote. Martial arts practice (even home practice): helps to even out moods, especially important for teens who feel emotional highs and lows so passionately, and whose hormones are often raging (MA also produces endorphins); speeds up metabolism, which burns excess calories; acts as a natural anti-drug/alcohol agent (it’s impossible to advance much in the arts when doing drugs or drinking); builds flexibility, endurance, and strength; increases red blood cell production; and lowers blood pressure. And this is only the tip of the iceberg. Can’t-Miss Benefit #2: Increased respect for self and others Many kids, for a plethora of reasons, don’t believe they are entitled to be respected and appreciated just for who they are—for being themselves. Almost all kids have been teased by peers at some point about a ‘flaw’, which turns into self-consciousness and can grow out of all proportion in the kid’s own mind. This lack of self-respect and self-appreciation if left unchecked over time can manifest as either anger, or feelings of insufficiency. Through good martial arts instruction in a positive atmosphere, teens learn that they are neither more nor less ‘flawed’ than anyone else. This healthy sense of self, that to be normal is not to be perfect, is an important element in the development and maturation of teens and preteens. Can’t-Miss Benefit #3: Learning to earn their way There is a dangerous trend underway in many kids’ basic outlook on life: that they are entitled to something for little or nothing. This attitude may be caused either by things coming to them too easily, or by things being too difficult. Perhaps they may feel like failures in one or more areas of their young lives: school, socially, sports, dating, or maybe embarrassment over some family or home situation (e. g., not as rich as the ‘rich’ kids; not as poor as the ‘cool’ kids). Over time, I’ve become convinced that the more kids find themselves feeling on the outs from success, the more shortcuts will seem acceptable, even normal; and then the more easily they will give up on earning their way. I believe that as these teens work toward and earn martial arts achievements, they learn they can be successful the old fashioned way. They don’t need shortcuts. They are capable. They learn to earn their way, and this instills confidence and pride of achievement. Can’t-Miss Benefit # 4: A rite of passage Many indigenous cultures have rituals established whereby young people can prove they have earned the right to be seen as adults. Our ‘advanced’ society has a gap here, especially for those teens extremely at risk of not transitioning into mainstream society. That is, those with little hope of on-time high school graduation, no vocational apprenticeship or schooling awaiting them, or little chance of or desire for college entrance, also have little hope of proving their worth to peers and adults. That is, they have no access to a culturally approved rite of passage into adulthood. This creates a vacuum during a very critical time/stage of life. Unfortunately, those who can find no traditional, socially-acceptable way to make this passage, may turn to such things as tagging/party crews or even gangs (with their initiation ceremonies), girls to pregnancy (proof of womanhood), boys to impregnating someone (proof of manhood), and either gender to ‘anti-approval’ (vandalism, wreaking havoc in classes or at home, body piercings/ tattoos/bizarre hair and clothing styles). Earning their way up the belt ranking system—ideally all the way to black belt—offers a powerful rite-of-passage alternative for our teens and tweens. Can’t-Miss Benefit #5: Team work and etiquette Many kids have had to scrabble for respect from peers, have been teased as mentioned earlier, have had to compromise their true feelings in order to fit in, or have struggled and perhaps been made to feel inadequate in school. Any one of these situations can cause them by the preteen/teen years to have adopted an ‘each one for himself/herself, and forget the rest’ survival mentality. Martial arts instruction and practice generally requires either a whole-class or two-person team format. In both cases, each student necessarily takes responsibility for the well-being of classmates and partners. To do less when practicing potentially dangerous techniques, would put others—who have become their friends—at risk. Wholesome martial arts instruction naturally counteracts any me-first attitude. Can’t-Miss Benefit #6: Increased safety in a dangerous world While there is obviously nothing that can guarantee that our kids will always be safe and protected, the one who is better prepared will better respond to a sudden, dangerous situation, or even better handle a verbal assault or provocation. Stories abound of teenagers, many of them girls, who have fought off grown men attempting to attack them or family members. Again, this is not guaranteed to happen, but it is much more likely for those who have trained and prepared, mentally and physically. Sure-fire Benefit #7: Personal empowerment The martial arts paradox is that those who know how to fight rarely need to do so. Learning to defend oneself takes away the need to ‘prove’ ones toughness on the street, in the classroom, or at home. Learning martial arts is a counterweight to violence. In my almost 20 years of working with kids full time, I’ve found that bullies are often past victims of bullying; abusers are past victims of abuse; etc. So, we can promote the health of the kid who becomes a martial artist, as well as making them a beacon of anti-violence for their peers. In a sense, the presence of someone who refuses to become either bully or bullied, is a powerful force for their friends, acquaintances, siblings and classmates. A personal note from my wife: How to find the right school/instructor This topic really deserves a separate article, but my wife, an early-childhood specialist concerned for all children and parents, gently hinted that it would be less than helpful to leave you without some guidelines on how to choose a martial arts program. I have studied four Asian arts seriously over a dozen years in probably 8-10 settings, and have seen the best and the worst of schools and instructors. Here is how I would distill that experience and advise you to begin. • How do you feel when you walk out the door of the studio for the first time—not what do you think, but how do you feel? Is it the right one or not? • Is the would-be instructor for your teen a good fit? Or is he/she too demanding? Too sloppy? Too macho? Too competitive? Too young/old? • Are the promises they make realistic, or are they trying too hard to sell you? And how long have they been there? You don’t want a place that closes its doors as your teen is halfway to black belt. • Is there a good balance between teaching self-defense (will it work?) and having fun? • Will it promote health if your teen continues for years, even decades, or will it wear down joints—is it too youth-oriented, too dependent on external strength/size, or is it an art that can be practiced by anyone for a lifetime? A kid’s thrill at having a chance at a life-long dream—earning a black belt—may be the solution to your gift-giving dilemma, and your gift may have far-reaching benefits for someone you care about. I hope that if you’ve been wrestling with what to give a hard-to-please teen or tween, this article may help you to nudge them toward beginning a lifelong journey to better health, self-awareness and understanding, compassion and confidence.

New avalanche of thrills expedition everest

One of America's newest thrill attractions takes visitors on a high-speed runaway train adventure through the Himalayas, leading to an encounter with the legendary yeti. The ride, Expedition Everest at Walt Disney World Resort, provides chills and thrills for Disney's Animal Kingdom guests, but you wouldn't dare call it a "roller coaster." You definitely don't want to use the "c" word-coaster-around Joe Rohde, Executive Designer and Vice President, Creative, for Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI), who, with other Imagineers, spent years researching the legend of the yeti to add authenticity to the attraction's storyline. "Expedition Everest is not like a roller coaster in the traditional sense," Rohde says. "It's so much more than that. While it is an intense thrill ride, the story this ride tells is as important-if not more important-as any dip, spin or drop. "Walt Disney always said that 'story is everything,' and that's the credo we live by at WDI," Rohde adds. "Expedition Everest is a testament to the lengths Imagineers will take to make the story perfect." Expedition Everest leads guests on a journey through a rich story rooted in the yeti. Visitors are explorers on the latest expedition to the world's tallest mountain. To get there, they have to pass through "The Forbidden Mountain," which they are warned against through posters, flyers, signs and artwork sprinkled throughout Serka Zong, a detail-rich Himalayan village re-created to be the attraction's queue area. The mountain is the yeti's lair. Ever intrepid, guests ignore these warnings and board abandoned "tea trains" to traverse the Forbidden Mountain's lofty realm. Almost immediately, they sense a foreboding-as if being watched. As the train gains speed, evidence of the mythical yeti starts to become more real. Guests hear snarling sounds and catch glimpses of the creature, which is becoming increasingly unhappy that strangers are invading its territory. Guests feel the beast's full wrath, as it rips up part of the ride track, forcing riders to plummet backwards into darkness and through icy caverns at one point. The ride culminates as guests come closer than they ever dreamed to the largest Audio-Animatronics creature ever crafted by WDI. "To the people of the Himalayas, the yeti is absolutely real," Rohde says. "We at WDI just took their inspiration to create the most realistic creature possible. And by the time you get through riding Expedition Everest, you will believe, too." A new thrill ride-a high-speed runaway train adventure-builds upon the Himalayan legend of the mythical yeti at Disney's Animal Kingdom in Orlando.

New year s eve party decorating ideas

: Make decorating your home for New Year's Eve party a pleasure instead of a stressful nightmare. Organization and planning helps you keep on top of your New Year's Eve party. Create a gorgeous party planning notebook with an inexpensive plastic three-ring binder that has a space to insert an inspirational picture. Keep cutouts from magazines of ideas you love about decorating, themes, menus, and recipes. Keep notes about your party afterwards so you remember what worked well and what to do differently next year. Your personal party journal will be an invaluable assistant to help you avoid holiday stress. New Year's Eve Decorating Enjoy your home decorating for New Year's Eve. Don't try to do too much. Keep in mind that people love to come to homes decked out in festive array but that it doesn't take a lot of cluttering ornamentation to create a joy filled room. Just a few large decorations can add the desired impact without taking a lot of time to set out. Plus, too many little decorations get lost when you have many people standing around. Where to decorate for impact: 1. Your front walkway: Greet guests at the entrance with lights surrounding your front door and two large floral arrangements or evergreen trees. 2. Your front door: A large swag of evergreen decorated with nuts, apples, raffia, and ribbon spiced up with cinnamon sticks and cloves makes a different statement than the usual wreath. 3. Your dining table: If you plan a sit-down dinner, avoid tall centerpieces that interfere with guests seeing across the table. White table cloths reflect the light, add a feeling of elegance, and don't interfere with colored china. Bold colors add drama. Have fun with your table decorations.

    4. Look up: Because table decorations get in the way, add decorations above archways and doors. 5. Your powder room: Because guests use this room privately, they take the time to look around and notice decorations. If your TV looks like a black hole in your room when it's off, play an old black and white classic movie with the sound turned off. Enjoy your New Year's Eve decorating this year. Try some new ideas and keep a party planner for next year. You'll be ready for new holiday decorating ideas! Copyright © 2006 Jeanette J. Fisher

On thanksgiving thank god for our soldiers

Not many people reading this article will remember the old television serial called “I Remember Mamma” and certainly almost none of the young men and women of our present day armed forces will remember it. I shudder when I think of how old I am getting, because I do remember it very well. “I Remember Mamma” was a TV series on every week about a Swedish family that came to America to start a new life away from the old country. Each episode was a perfect picture of what life was like for a family of immigrants in the new land of opportunity. It was a typical family of four with mother, father and sister and brother. One unforgettable episode was when the young man of the family decided to join the army because the war had broken out and he wanted to serve his new country. The folks and the sister were devastated by his choice to go, but they seemed to adapt to the idea if only to support his decision although not fully agreeing with it. You could feel the sadness on that family as the young man slept in his bed for the last night. I cried so deeply when his mother came in to give him a good night kiss, perhaps his last. I became so emotionally caught up with the story that I could hardly sleep at all that night. I knew nothing about war even though my buddies and I often put a nail in a stick for a trigger and played GI Joe with each other. All I was sure of was, that as a soldier someone was very likely to be shooting at you at some time. What I found hard to grasp was, why anyone would put themselves in such a situation of their own free will. I can’t say I have ever found a sufficient answer to that question but after more than six decades to ponder it, the question has been rewarded with some surprising and perplexing answers. One of the answers is that some people really believe that the freedom we enjoy here in America is worth fighting to keep and if possible to share with others. Some of them believe that oppression and injustice should not be allowed to prevail unchecked anywhere in the world, not just here at home. I have heard all the comments about how a soldier is only thinking about saving his own life once the bullets start flying but they have been mostly neutralized by the stories of uncommon heroism on our country’s battlefields. There are countless stories of men and women who have risked and in some cases lost their lives while protecting the lives of others around them in their units. For me one story would be enough to prove that not all men are thinking of themselves even after the bullets are flying. Some young folks still join our armed services for lesser reasons. Perhaps they are enticed by the chance to go to college at the expense of Uncle Sam. In some cases they may just be in that place where they simply don’t know what else to do with their lives. These reasons may not seem as noble as those of the young people who signed up after 9/11 but they are still legitimate reasons and they are not open to any ones critical judgment. Certainly all of those who joined for any reason had a moment when they reflected and faced the possibility that they could be thrust into a battle at any given time. They had to deal with that question but for everyone who signed on the dotted line the question did not deter them, this in itself is a form of bravery. Soldiers once lined up by the thousands willing to fight against one of the world’s greatest despots, Adolph Hitler. No doubt there are those in Iraq today who see Saddam Hussein and his Bathist party members as something akin to Hitler. Still others in Afghanistan are still hoping to corral one of the worst terrorists of all time, Osama Bin Laden. Should we not liken their devotion to accomplishing these goals to those who fought in other wars? In today’s all volunteer army we have no other choice. To offer the soldiers in the present conflicts any less than our complete support and gratitude is not only to dishonor them but it equally dishonors every brave soldier who gave their all in the past wars and battles of our nation. We may brag a bit about how well our soldiers are equipped and trained but we must never forget that they also are guided by certain beliefs and principles that are shared in our land by almost everyone. This then, is their purpose and it must be appreciated and respected or we are all fools indeed. They represent us in that purpose and anything less than our full support is to betray them and in my humble opinion is akin to treason. This thanksgiving season among the other things I will be thankful for is our soldiers. They still give me a sense of awe like the night I cried in my bed trying to understand the young Swedish boy in the “I Remember Mama” series who decided to go and risk life and limb for his newly adopted country, the USA. I will pray that they all come home safely and if any do not, I will always have a home for them in my heart as will millions of other grateful Americans. Thank God for our soldiers this thanksgiving day.

However, as you may be aware – personal finance products vary enormously and it’s worth making sure you have the best personal loan before you start spending it, likewise when you conduct a credit card search, you want to ensure that what you’ve offered is the best deal. Bear in mind that even internet promotions bear geographical significance. For example – if you live in the UK – the search term “Credit Card UK” is likely to give a much more relevant result than simply “Credit Card”, which will take your search out to global credit card sites – the same applies to a personal loan search. Tip number two: Use the search engines and price comparison sites. Search engines can be very helpful, but they function on technical sorting – rather than human sorting. Sometimes websites such as moneynet. co. uk and lowermybills can save you the time of sifting through lots of irrelevant sites – as they have dedicated teams which comb the financial press and short list the best consumer deals. Tip number three: Set yourself up with online bank accounts. There has been lots of press about consumer concern of online security, yet the reality is that 1) online security for shopping and banking is extremely robust and 2) your money is as safe online as it is anywhere else – fraud exists at all transaction points – not just those on the internet. Online bank accounts can save you bank charges when you’re transferring money and you can track your finances throughout the Christmas period, regardless of whether the banks are open or not. With online banking, your finances are accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Tip number four: Make a list of what you intend to buy people and then conduct some price comparison research online. Websites such as Kelkoo, Ciao and PriceRunner can help you source the lowest price for what you’re looking for, but you may find that some online retailers can beat their bricks and mortar counterparts anyway. For example, Amazon and eBay have gained huge popularity because they’re easy to buy from and they give significant discounts over the High Street. When you buy online – you also have more choice than what’s available in your high street. Online specialists such as CCL - a computer specialist ( cclonline/ ), Stand & Deliver - audio visual furniture, Crave – a maternity fashion site, The Christmas Hamper Store ( christmashamper/ ) and headSpun – an online music merchandise store allow you shop for your entire family, without you leaving the house. This saves you shoe leather, shopping queues, car park fees, heavy bags and you don’t have to be sneaky about buying things when the kids aren’t looking! The diversity of online retail stores takes the emotional strain out of Christmas shopping. Even traditional high-street favourites, such as H Samuel, have their own online store, as traditional gifts such as watches ( hsamuel. co. uk/webstore/watches. do ) and collectibles remain popular, despite the emergence of techno-gifts like the iPod or latest Sony Ericsson multimedia mobile phone. A lot of sites have very modest delivery charges and sometimes these are waived completely under special conditions. In addition, providing you’re not doing your online shopping on Christmas Eve – delivery services are usually very quick. For example, Justtoys pledges to despatch toys on the same day as the order, providing the order is placed before 3pm. This site in particular has enjoyed the benefits of adults returning to their youth, with increased sales of retro-toys such as the New Series Radio Controlled Dalek. If you have any concerns about (or problems with) an online retailer, the vast majority have customer help lines – which are either free or charged at local rate, or there is an e-mail address for sales queries. In essence – online retailing has become so secure and sophisticated now, why isn’t everyone doing their Christmas shopping online? Organize your christmas shopping

Grab a notebook. Grab a pen. It's time to get serious about your Christmas shopping by making your list (and checking it twice). Make a list of the people you'll be buying for this year. Leave space between each person’s name. Now go back through the list and write down gift ideas and a rough dollar amount you’re willing to spend on each person. Example: 1. Aunt Fran - Collects lighthouses, loves golf - $30.00 2. Beth - Candles, bath and body products - $20.00 3. Joe - Something for his new truck, loves fishing - $50.00 Bring your notebook shopping with you. It will help you to stay focused on who you need to shop for, a general idea of what you're looking for and your price range. Making a detailed list like this will prove invaluable in keeping you organized and on budget with your Christmas shopping. As you shop, cross off each person on your list. Be sure to keep an eye open for bargains and grab a few extra gifts - there's always that visitor that shows up that you didn't anticipate. Set holiday shopping goals for yourself and jot them down in your notebook. 1. I will have all cards in the mail by December 10th. 2. All of my major shopping will be done by December 15th. 3. I will not go over budget! Making lists and setting goals for yourself this holiday will save you time and stress and allow you to enjoy the season for what it really is. If you haven't started your shopping, start now. It's not too late to get on track. The first step is starting your notebook, making your list and getting a plan of action. After the holidays, store your notebook away somewhere (perhaps with your decorations). It will serve as a great reference when you're ready to start your shopping next year. Happy Holidays, Happy Shopping...and by keeping a Holiday Notebook - Happy You!

    Orgin of valentine s day

Each February, in places around the world, friends exchange flowers, gifts, and candy in celebration of Valentine's Day. The name of St. Valentine is known across the globe as a patron saint. Most of us however, do not know the true origin of St. Valentine and how this special day came to be. What we do know is that February is the month of romance. As we know it today, St. Valentine's Day contains elements of both ancient Roman and Christian traditions. The Catholic Church recognizes at least three martyred saints names Valentine or Valentineus. One of the common legends states that Valentine was a priest that served in third century Rome. At the time, Emperor Claudius II declared that single males made superior soldiers than did those who had wives and children and he outlawed marriage for all young men in order to optimize his potential army of soldiers. Valentine immediately realized the injustice in this declaration and continued to perform marriages in secret ceremonies, which was in direct defiance of Emperor Claudius II. Upon learning of Valentine's actions, the Emperor immediately had him put to death. There are additional stories surrounding Valentine that suggest he was killed for attempting to assist Christians in escaping Roman prisons where they were often tortured and beaten. If one particular legend holds true, Valentine himself sent the first ever "valentine" greeting. It is believed that Valentine fell in love with a jailer's daughter while in prison. The girl had visited Valentine in jail, during which time Valentine fell deeply in love with her. It is thought that before his death, Valentine sent her a letter that he signed "From Your Valentine". By the time of Valentine's death and subsequent sainthood, he was one of the most popular legends in England and France during the Middle Ages. The early pastors of Roman Christian churches used St. Valentine's Day as the day young men chose maidens from the congregation as potential brides. Since that time there have been many traditions that have become an important part of Valentine's Day. Cards, gifts, and the promise of eternal love are the most common way that we express our feelings on this very special day each year. In the United States, the first commercially printed Valentine's Day cards began appearing in the early 1800s. Since that time, Valentine's Day has become a highly profitable business in which millions of dollars are spent each year. While we enjoy and anticipate Valentine's Day and the gifts we will give and receive, it is important to remember that this very special day originated with no gifts whatsoever, but rather an promise of eternal love and happiness that cost nothing at all.

    Outdoor christmas decoration

An outdoor Christmas decoration holds a special place in people's hearts. Christmas is an elaborate celebration for many people throughout the world. For most families, Christmas involves an extensive amount of decorating, both indoors and outside. Many towns and neighborhoods hold lighting and decoration contests to see who can come up with the best seasonal decorative scheme for their home. There are many different types of outdoor Christmas decorations. One type of outdoor Christmas decoration is a homemade decoration. These are perhaps the most sentimental decorations, as families typically get together during the season to create and places these in their yard or on their homes. They are less costly than store bought decorations, as they can save over half the price of store Christmas decorations. Simple items like wire coat hangers can be fashioned into reindeer, trees, stars, bells, candy canes, and other ornamental signs of the season. They can then be wrapped with outdoor lights to illuminate the night. Strips of wood can be fashioned into figures like Santa Clause and set to illuminate the blackness of a winter night as well. Let an outdoor Christmas decoration spice up your home for the holidays Another type of outdoor Christmas decoration is a string of lights, though these days they come in many shapes and sizes. Lights are, perhaps, the most popular form of outdoor Christmas decoration. It is possible to purchase lights in the shape of trees or stars. You can also buy lights to hang on your house. For these, you can by dangling lights that resemble icicles or a simple strand with one white or colored bulb every few inches. These strings of lights can flash or blink in any pattern or you can simply have them stay on in a constant fashion. One final type of outdoor Christmas decoration is a pre-made statue or figure of some type that has lighting capabilities. These come in many shapes and sizes from religious figures and nativity scenes to popular characters like Santa Clause or cartoon characters dressed in festive gear. Air inflated decorations like this are gaining in popularity. They us a constant source of air to stay inflated much like a children's jumping tent might. Additionally, they are lit for visibility at night. They are inexpensive to own and operate, and look quite festive on the lawn or on the roof with the lights. An outdoor Christmas decoration can be an important addition to any holiday season. Be sure to choose the right decoration for you.

Peace and hope for mothers day

To all of the mothers whose children are fighting in wars - and to mothers whose children are growing up with wars raging around them or with terrorism threatening their safety... Wishes of strength, peace and hope for this Mother's Day... Arise then...women of this day! Arise, all women who have hearts! Whether your baptism be of water or of tears! Say firmly: "We will not have questions answered by irrelevant agencies, Our husbands will not come to us, reeking with carnage, For caresses and applause. Our sons shall not be taken from us to unlearn All that we have been able to teach them of charity, mercy and patience. We, the women of one country, Will be too tender of those of another country To allow our sons to be trained to injure theirs." From the bosom of a devastated Earth a voice goes up with Our own. It says: "Disarm! Disarm! The sword of murder is not the balance of justice." Blood does not wipe our dishonor, Nor violence indicate possession. As men have often forsaken the plough and the anvil at the summons of war, Let women now leave all that may be left of home For a great and earnest day of counsel. Let them meet first, as women, to bewail and commemorate the dead. Let them solemnly take counsel with each other as to the means Whereby the great human family can live in peace... Each bearing after his own time the sacred impress, not of Caesar, But of God - In the name of womanhood and humanity, I earnestly ask That a general congress of women without limit of nationality, May be appointed and held at someplace deemed most convenient And the earliest period consistent with its objects, To promote the alliance of the different nationalities, The amicable settlement of international questions, The great and general interests of peace. Wouldn't it be wonderful if on some distant Mother's Day, the wishes of Julia Ward Howe could be fulfilled and the human race could celebrate a day when, all over the world, no mother would have to mourn the death of her child lost in war or terrorist attacks... To all of the mothers whose children are fighting in wars - and to mothers whose children are growing up with wars raging around them or with terrorism threatening their safety... Wishes of strength, peace and hope for this Mother's Day...

Perfect gifts for mother s day

Mother’s day is almost here and I urge you to start thinking about unique gift ideas for your mom. There is only one day each year when we can really thank our mother for all the effort and love she has given to us. Lets do it right. Lets give her the perfect gifts for mother’s day. I know many people that join the birth day gift for mom with the mother’s day gift. Don’t do it. She deserves the two gifts. And you could always find a gift to buy her. After all, she is a woman. My first suggestion would be to put aside for a few moments the tax and gift cost. Try to think your mother wants or what she needs. No body knows your mother better than you. For example, my mother loves everything related to cats. She has a huge cat collection of cats statues and I get her a new one each year – I admit cat lover gifts are easy to find. If you have figured out what your mother would like as a mothers day gift, decide on your budget and start searching for it. Start looking for the best gift as early as possible. This way, you will be able to make a comprehensive market research and buy the best gift at the best price. If you haven’t thought of a specific gift to buy for mother’s day, do one of the following, and I guarantee you will find a gift for your mom: 1. Search for gift ideas in online gift stores. Try searching for: “gifts for mom” or “personalized unique gifts” 2. There are several gifts which will always be perfect gifts for mother’s day. These are Jewelry, picture frames, bath spa gift baskets, designer diamond pendants, american express gift cards and visa gift card.

Personalized gifts for a sentimental valentine

Valentine's Day is fast approaching and you find yourself trying to decide what to get you beloved as a gift. You don't want to give them candy - too passй. Flowers die and jewellery tends to be more of a personal taste item, not that they would ever tell you they didn't like the bracelet or earrings. So what do you give them that is unique? Try a personalized gift, something made solely for them and that comes from the heart. While every lady likes to receive jewellery, some of them are a bit fussy about what they wear. Some women don't like things that are too gaudy or bulky. Others wind up becoming more concerned about how much you paid for the item. They do like your gift, that's not the problem. The problem lies with how many pieces of jewellery they've received over the years, and how they really don't hold much sentimentality anymore because they can pretty much count on getting another piece the next year. Now, if you were to present you loved one with a romantic gift of jewellery that has been personalized, then you may see a different reaction. Take, for example, the line of PicScribe(TM) pendants. These are pendants and lockets made from fourteen carat gold that can have photos engraved on and in them, and can have a personalized saying or inscription placed on the back. This particular Valentine's gift will thrill your beloved if you have a picture of your children, or other close family member, engraved on it. Not only have you given them something that will hold sentimental value because of what is on it, but also because this is something that can be passed down from generation to generation and become a family heirloom. If you know your lady love would prefer not to have jewellery - and not every lady is that way mind you - why not look into a personalized gift such as the CrystalScribe(TM)? CrystralScribe(TM) is a crystal of any size, usually a square, that has a personalized photo adhered to it in such a way that is seems as if the picture has magically appeared in the crystal itself. You could have one of these made with family pictures or any photo that means something to your beloved. Maybe you have one done of the child that is overseas in the armed services, or one of your wedding photos. The only limit is the pictures you find. Valentine's gifts that will mean something to the receiver for years, should come from the heart. While jewellery and flowers are the old standby, personalized gifts for your beloved shows them that you put serious thought into the gift and took the time to research your options and find something that they would like. These types of gifts will mean more to them over the years because they are special and will be cherished. That's not to say that jewellery won't be cherished. On the contrary, when you have piece engraved with your thoughts and sentiments, it takes on a new level of enjoyment. Your beloved feels cherished and knows that you care.

Personalized mother s day gift ideas

So many days roll by without a thought to the daily life of our mother. How is her day going? Is everything going well? Does she need to relax? And so on. We are so wrapped up in our own lives that we forget that mom’s have tough days too, even after we are all grown up. And husbands forget that wives, the mothers of their children, do get forgotten in the daily hubbub of life. So this year, do something that is absolutely and completely all for her. First, make arrangements for a full day at the spa. The works. It is relatively inexpensive and will bring the glow back into mom. While she is at the spa, clean the house, or hire someone to come do it for you. Order out for the best restaurant to deliver a full course meal and set it up for you so that when mom comes home, there is no cooking to be done. Make arrangements to have it cleaned up also. Make sure all her dry cleaning is taken to the shop, the dog is bathed and groomed. The sheets on the bed are fresh and clean. This may not sound original to some, but for moms, it is the most personal thing you could do for her. Make it so mom does not have to lift a finger for anything. Another idea, if you want to spend the money and do the footwork, is have a family quilt made for her. There are dozens of ways to do it. You can even have old family pictures incorporated into the quilt. Have the names of her family added to the quilt, this will turn into a “Memory Quilt”, something she gaze upon year after year and in a sense be surrounded by her family each night. Depending on what “personal” means to your mom or wife, can decide how you want to personalize her Mother’s Day gift. There is engraving, embroidery, painting, and sculpting, or you can do something that mom has wanted done for a very long time and make that personal. Taking a cruise or short trip to a place that she has wanted to go. To a mom, all things are personal, especially when it comes to her family.

    Planning for the holidays

If you’ve been to any store lately you’ve seen that the holiday decorations have hit the stores. It’s the time of year that puts everyone in a good mood until the time that the family arrives on your doorstep. Then of course, the rush is on to get it all done in time. If you’re anything like me and my family, there are always last minute trips to the store to get everything that is needed for the dinner and the delivery of presents. Now is the time to plan out your whole event. You should know now whether you are traveling to a relatives’ for the holiday or even just for dinner. It’s a good time to start planning your menu’s and your presents for the people on your list. Here are a few things to make your holidays run a bit smoother: 1. Write a list of each person who is to receive a present. If you need to draw names, make it happen via email this week. Then select a budget for each person and draw the cash out and put it in envelopes. Make a vow to stay within the budget you’ve set. 2. Start by perusing the catalogs. It’s an easier way to shop. There are so many catalogs on line now so shopping on line will help you stay away from that crazy holiday rush. 3. Shopping in one place certainly saves time, and places like TJ MAX and Marshalls are old favorites and do carry affordable items for the whole family. 4. Once you’ve gotten the shopping done, it’s time to start the decorating. I usually purchase a few magazines specifically for the holidays and do one art project that will last. It’s been fun to see my projects through the years that took a day to make, but have been in our family for years. If you’re “crafty” enough, then these items make excellent gifts for your friends and neighbors. Presents like pinecone wreaths or candle covers are easy, fun to make and last for years. 5. Next, comes the cooking! This is the one that seems like it should wait, but in realty it’s a great time to start right now! We still have a few weekends before Thanksgiving and those early Saturday mornings are a great time to bake up and decorate holiday cookies and bars. In addition, homemade jellies and jams make excellent holiday gifts to share. My personal favorite is Hot Jezabel. I make it with pineapple and apricot jelly, horseradish, dry mustard and black pepper. It is delicious on top of cream cheese with crackers. Put in a cute jar, with a box of crackers, the recipe in a basket makes an affordable and delicious gift. 6. Get your kids dressed and head to the nearest hotel lobby for a beautiful holiday picture! Sure, you can go to a studio and spend upwards of $100, or you can get dressed and go to a nice hotel where you can take a picture that is classy and will impress your friends! Get them printed at Walmart and you’re good to go for your holiday newsletter and card! 7. Last but not least, understand that the holidays are some of the most stressful times of the year. If you have a family and are traveling or entertaining, you need to schedule some time for relaxing without doing anything. Book your manicure ahead of time or a fun cookie exchange evening out with the gals in advance. Then kick back and enjoy the time this year. If you plan ahead this year, like you SAID you would last year, you’ll be able to relax and enjoy the holidays creating memories, instead of stress!
