Things to know when insuring your mobile home

When shopping around for homeowners insurance for your mobile home, make sure you know what you're buying. Know what risks you are exposed to and how to cover them. Below are a few basic things to consider: Named peril or all risk (comprehensive): Homeowners policies may be purchased on a named peril basis. What that means is the policy will cover losses that occur as a result of the perils named on the policy. Some named perils are fire, lightening and ice/snow storm (check your policy). Named peril policies are cheaper than all risk, but they are also more restrictive. All risk polices are comprehensive. Under an all risk policy, the insurance company will pay for all losses except for those that are excluded (discuss the exclusions with your agent). It costs more, but is worth the money. Trip Collision coverage: Unlike stationary homes, mobile homes have the ability to be moved from one location to another. If there is a possibility that you will be moving your home, be sure to discuss this coverage with your agent. It's better to have it and not use it than to need it and not have it. Valuation: There are two types of valuation, replacement cost and actual cash value (ACV). Make sure that your home is valued at replacement cost. That means that you will get the cost to replace your mobile home in the event it is destroyed (subject to policy limit). Actual cash value includes depreciation. If you've had your home for several years, depreciating its value may leave you without enough money to buy a new home. Emergency Removal: Insurance companies will pay a certain amount towards the cost to remove your mobile home in the event of a covered loss. For example, moving your home from a flooded location to preserve it. When looking to insure your mobile home, always shop and compare.

Things to look for when choosing an individual health insurance company

There are a plethora of Health Insurance providers online, most offering fairly competitive policies at decent rates. The sheer amount of choice makes it confusing when you're trying to decide between companies, and if you don't know what to look for you may miss out on a good deal, or worse, be stung by hidden costs or not receive the cover you paid for. The first thing to look for when choosing an insurance company is to make sure that the terms and conditions are stated in a manner that is clear and easy to understand. A good company won't try to befuddle you with jargon. Don't be afraid to clarify certain points, and to get those clarifications in writing. This can save you a lot of pain and hassle in the long run. You also want to make very sure that your company is not offering policies which they will then cancel if you get sick. It does sound ridiculous, but some companies will cancel policies if the holder becomes ill. Make sure the policy is guaranteed renewable and non cancellable. A company that tries to dump it's holders when they need the policy they paid for is unlikely to be a good insurance partner to you in the long run. Look for a cancellation period when you're considering signing up, a period during which time if you change your mind you can receive a refund and cancel the policy with no penalty. A good company does not make money by tying people into policies they don't want. Finally, check with consumer institutes as to the companies reputation. Stay away from companies that appear deluged with complaints, they are unlikely to serve you any better than they served their previous customers. Talk to friends and family, and get an idea of the experiences they have had. Much can be learned from word of mouth information. Above all, take your time. Choosing a health insurance provider is an important decision, and not one you should feel rushed about.

    Third generation insurance shopping

Third Generation Insurance Shopping Has Arrived! Traditional insurance shopping was revolutionised with the introduction of online insurance quote systems, both through direct online insurers, and online brokers. For many years, this remained the only way to shop online for insurance, but did not maximise the full potential of what the internet really could do for the shopper. The 3rd generation of insurance shopping websites is now here, and it means great news for consumers. The old days. In the(bad) old days, people had to phone around various insurance companies to get quotes for their car insurance. This was a time consuming process, but due to the variations in insurance premium from company to company, very often it was worth spending the time on. Instead of going direct to insurance companies, many consumers preferred to use insurance brokers who would shop around for them. This in theory was great, except for one thing - different brokers could charge different rates for the same insurance products. To compare insurance, consumers still had to phone around a number of brokers, many of whom only worked normal day time office hours. The Internet Revolution (kind of). With the growing popularity of the internet, things looked better. A number of internet based insurers and brokers offered the chance to shop around 24 hours a day and find cheaper insurance, with online discounts being offered to consumers. While this allowed people to shop for cover in the evenings, they were still faced with the same old problem that different broker sites would quote different prices for the same insurance. The Aggregator Arrives. In recent times, a new breed of insurance shopping website has arrived. These sites (aggregator or comparisons sites) allow you to fill in just one set of quote forms, and instead of you having to visit lots of different broker's websites and filling in the same information time and time again - they do it for you. Sites like quotezone. co. uk do this. You enter your details as you would on any other insurance site, but instead of getting quotes from one broker, you can get over 20 insurance quotes in one place. So, for 2 minutes work , you save yourself filling in forms on 20 websites, and get all the prices back in real time one after the other.

Timing is everything especially with travel insurance

: Few things in life are as satisfying as a trip abroad, and most of us can hardly wait until we leave on our great adventure. Anticipation of things to come merely heightens our delight. Planning our trips is part of the enjoyment. Running around, buying our tickets, luggage, clothes and other items that we plan to take with us don't even seem like chores. It's not even painful to pay for these things because we know that soon we'll be exploring places we've never been before. However, there is one "fly in this ointment", one more expense that we'd rather not have because even though it costs us money, we receive no tangible benefit. What am I talking about? Why, travel insurance, of course!!! Is Buying Travel Insurance at the Last Moment Okay? I don't know about you, but as far as I'm concerned, paying for travel health insurance is not exactly my favorite way of spending money. Could it be because travel insurance is not exactly sexy? Or is it because it just adds to the cost of an already expensive trip? Whatever the reason, I'd rather not spend the bucks on travel insurance.

However, because I know that it really is a necessity, I buy it. Nevertheless, I tend to put off the purchase as long as possible because it still feels like an "extra". Am doing myself a favor or not? Are You a Gambler? Is keeping my money in my pocket for as long as possible helping me or hurting me? By delaying my travel medical insurance purchase until the day I leave, I'm actually hurting myself. This is because I'm actually gambling that nothing will happen to me before I buy my insurance.

I'm betting that I or someone in my family won't fall ill or get injured prior to departure. Also, if I haven't bought it and something bad does happen, I won't have any insurance coverage and I'll be out of luck. Wouldn't I be smarter to get my travel insurance ASAP in order to minimize my risk and maximize my potential benefits? Don't Lose Your Pre-Existing Condition Coverage There is another reason to buy travel insurance without delay. Sometimes we make our travel arrangements in stages and don't book our flights at the same time. We travelers are eligible for pre-existing medical condition exclusion waivers provided we buy our travel insurance from 7 to 21 days (depending on the policy) of making our arrangements. If we wait longer, we may not be eligible for those benefits, especially if a previously unknown health condition should materialize. Don't Wait To Finalize Everything Before Buying Whenever I have traveled, I have known in advance what my plane tickets were going to cost, but what about you? Maybe you've made travel plans but have not yet bought your plane tickets. I suggest that it's a good idea to buy your travel insurance even if you haven't bought your tickets because doing so will ensure that you will qualify for the pre-existing condition exclusion waiver. If you don't know what your flight will cost, estimate the cost and include this figure in the total cost of your trip. Later, when you have purchased your flight tickets, you can advise the insurance company. That way you will not risk being ineligible for coverage for a medical conditions that crops up prior to departure. What If You've Already Left on Your Trip? I happen to be one of the world's greatest procrastinators. My motto is, “Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow because you might get lucky and not have to do it at all!” Maybe you, too, are a Great Procrastinator and you avoid buying travel insurance before you leave on your trip. What happens if you have delayed buying your travel insurance or expatriate insurance until AFTER your departure? Are you out of luck? Are you ineligible for insurance because you didn't buy it before you left home? Fortunately, the good news is that, even if you decide to buy after departure, you are still eligible for insurance. If you can get access to the internet, both travel insurance and expatriate insurance can be found and purchased online, even after you've left on your trip or taken up residence abroad. As the old saying goes, "Better late than never," especially in this case! Can You Get Insurance for Someone Else Who Has Already Left? Here's another scenario. What if there is an emergency and a family member (including minors) or a friend or employee has not bought travel insurance but has already left on their trip? Do they have to travel uninsured? The answer is no, they don't have to go without travel insurance. You, or someone else they designate, can go online and purchase travel insurance on their behalf. It's good to know that when friends, family or employees are too busy to get their own travel insurance, they don't have to go without it. In this case, all you need to do is fill out an online application and make the required online payment. You'll get instant confirmation and can even print out a copy of the policy. There is one cautionary note though. If you're purchasing travel insurance on behalf of a minor, you'll first have to register as an adult in order to get the insurance. It is also important to note that they will not be eligible for coverage for pre-existing medical conditions that occur during the trip after departure and prior to purchasing their insurance. This is merely another reason why purchasing travel insurance should not be delayed. In the World of Travel Insurance, Timing Definitely IS Everything Timing is everything, they say. Purchasing travel or expatriate insurance was probably not on the mind of whoever coined that phrase.

Nevertheless, those words apply as much to buying travel insurance as they do to anything else. Given the potential for financial ruin if you're not insured, the time to buy yours is before you need it because buying it after you need it is impossible and much too late. Learn from the "Great Procrastinator" and get the insurance you need before you need it.

    Tips for choosing boat insurance

Unlike home or auto insurance, boat insurance policies can vary widely from one company to the next. So which type of boating insurance is best for you? Try these tips. They come from experts at the nation's largest recreational boat owners association, BoatU. S. • Know Thy Insurer-One way to find a good insurer is to ask friends who have had a claim in the past. Insurance companies may be good at taking monthly premiums, but how a company lives up to expectations when something goes wrong is a better indicator. You can also research potential insurance carriers at am best/ratings. The ratings are the industry's benchmark for assessing an insurer's financial strength; look for an "A" rating (excellent) or better. State insurance regulatory agencies are also a good reference and can be found online. • Homeowner's or Separate Policy-Consider buying a separate insurance policy for the boat, rather than adding it to your homeowner's policy, as the latter often limits certain marine-related risks such as salvage work, wreck removal, pollution or environmental damage. Whatever amount the boat is insured for, it should have a separate but equal amount of funds available for any salvage work. This means that you're compensated for the loss of your boat and not having to pay additional, out-of-pocket costs to have a wreck removed from a waterway. • Agreed Value vs. Actual Cash Value-These are the two main choices that boaters face and depreciation is what sets them apart. An "agreed value" policy covers the boat at whatever value you and your insurer agree upon. While it typically costs more up front, there is no depreciation if there is a total loss of the boat (some partial losses may be depreciated). "Actual cash value" policies, on the other hand, cost less up front but factor in depreciation and only pay up to the actual cash value at the time the boat is declared a total or partial loss or property was lost. • Customize-Bass boaters may need fishing gear and tournament coverage as well as "cruising extensions" if they trailer their boat far from home. You may want "freeze coverage" if you live in a temperate state because, ironically, that's where most of this kind of damage occurs. A good insurer will tailor your coverage to fit your needs so there will be no surprises.

Tips for getting cheap auto insurance rates

Getting a quote for auto insurance online is easy... but finding cheap insurance can be more of a challenge. It takes diligence and knowledge. Here are a few tips to help you find the cheapest auto insurance available. Safety Features Make sure your vehicle is well built and "safety" feature rich. You should get cheaper premiums for adding anti-theft devices, car alarms or a good tracking system since these items reduce the risk of your car being stolen. Defensive Driving Take a defensive driving class. Certification will help you in your quest to locate cheap auto insurance and can reduce your premium for up to three years. Comparing Rates The automobile industry is fiercely competitive. Premiums can vary by as much as 300% for the same coverage. Be sure you are comparing apples to apples on the features you need the most when searching for cheap auto insurance. Complete Application If you don't complete the application in full, the insurance companies are not going to give you a quote for their cheapest auto insurance and you won't find out about any of the discounts you may be eligible for. You'll simply get a higher rate quote by default. Be sure to enter your marital status, how many licensed drivers are in your home, your car's safety features, your zip code, the miles you drive, etc. Increase Your Deductible You can also reduce your rates by selecting a higher deductible. Generally the higher the deductible, the lower the premium. Your savings can be as much as hundreds of dollars by increasing your deductible from $250 to $500. Cut Back on Your Miles If you travel less than an average of 40 miles a day, you'll more than likely qualify for a low mileage discount. If you must travel more, car pool or use the public transportation one or two days a week to reduce the miles you drive. Color of Your Car Statistics tell us that red cars are involved in more accidents than any other color. If you want to find the cheapest auto insurance, avoid buying a red vehicle. Who Drives What Car the Most? Compare quotes with the man as the main driver and the woman as the second driver and vice versa on each of your vehicles. Always, place your younger drivers (teenagers) on the safest vehicle you own, such as the family station wagon or the family car. You'll never find cheap auto insurance by putting your teenager on a sporty little two door vehicle.

Tips for getting infertility health insurance

Health insurance for infertility treatment can be a complicated – and touchy – subject. It affects a lot of people – approximately 6 million women experience the pain of infertility each year in the United States. The health insurance laws in the state you live in may have a lot do with the extent of your coverage; for example whether your employer is required to provide infertility insurance or not. One reason that infertility insurance is so expensive and hard to come by is because the procedures are so complicated – an in-vitro fertilization procedure can cost $10,000 or more. Not surprisingly, many insurance companies simply don’t provide – or provide very limited – insurance coverage for infertility. There are some things you can do if you aren’t covered for infertility treatment under your health insurance. Firstly, make sure you read and fully understand your insurance policy – some policies exclude actual treatments only, some exclude diagnosis too. Determine whether you live in a state that has mandatory infertility insurance coverage – New York, for example is one of several such states. Under the mandate, your state must ensure that insurers provide fertility insurance as part of a standard plan, or as an option to purchase for a reasonable price. If you are shopping around for health insurance, never mention that you are looking specifically for fertility insurance, or that this may later be a concern. As this coverage is so costly, insurance companies have the right by law to turn down your application for insurance – without giving you a reason. If you are denied coverage, it is also possible to appeal to your insurance company on the grounds that the fertility coverage is a legitimate and necessary medical procedure. To appeal any decision successfully, always obtain legal advice, and you may need the support of your doctor. And if your insurance company just won’t cover it, the good news is that infertility treatment, like most medical procedures are tax-deductible. This includes the actual procedures as well as general physician’s visits, drug costs, etc.

Tips for shopping health insurance and life insurance online

If you've found your way here, you've no doubt decided you need to purchase a new insurance policy or add to your existing level of insurance. It can be a little confusing deciding just what you need. So let's cover some of the most popular types of insurance. Critical Illness Insurance Heart disease, stroke and cancer are just a few of the critical illness that bring a chill to your spine when you are diagnosed. The good news is that with the advances with modern medicine many illness that even recently were almost always fatal can now be treated and life goes on as normal. However, in a worst-case scenario, critical illness insurance helps you cope with the expense of your illness while you are treated and helps your loved ones to go on unencumbered by the financial burden left by a long illness should you lose the battle. Disability Insurance One of the most popular forms of supplemental insurance, Disability Insurance pays you a percentage of your income as a benefit should you become disabled. You use these benefits to help with out of pocket expenses not covered by your major medical policy and to pay your household bills while you recover from a temporary disability or a lump sum payment or a life long benefit in the case of a permanent disability. When shopping for a Life Insurance quote, Term Life Insurance and Whole Life Insurance are the two most popular choices. Let's explain each of these: Whole Life Insurance When shopping for a Whole Life Insurance quote you will find that, the policy remains in force during your entire lifetime as long as the premiums are paid. The type of life insurance also builds what is commonly called a cash value that you borrow under certain circumstance after a period of time. Term Life Insurance When shopping for a Term Life Insurance quote keep in mind that this insurance will cover you for a specified time only such as five years. Your premiums do not increase during the term of your policy but will likely increase once it is time to renew the term. Term Life Insurance does not build a cash value. Term life is generally cheaper if you are younger in age and a good starting point for a safety net for a young family until you're ready to invest in long-term whole life insurance. Now you're fully informed to make the right choices as to just what new or additional insurance to choose for yourself and your family.

    Tips on homeowners insurance simplified

If you are a human being that lives somewhere, you probably should have some sort of homeowners insurance coverage. Regardless of whether you rent an apartment unit, condominium, own a house, acreage or even a town house, not being sufficiently covered can lead to great financial loss difficult to recover from. You home is the greatest financial investment you will ever make, not to mention all the money you spend on furnishings and items contributing to the liveability of your home. Every adult needs some form of homeowners insurance coverage. It's never a bad idea to get a free online homeowner insurance quote or two. This will enable you to compare rates and coverages to tailor a policy that is suitable for you and your contentment. If you are not sure what homeowners insurance coverage is, it is a policy you get in exchange for an annual premium that provides protection for your dwelling, personal property and any lawsuits that you are held responsible for. Habitually there are 4 underlying or basic types of homeowners insurance coverage. Types Of Homeowners coverage In Reference To Insurance ; 1) Dwelling Coverage : Provides payment for needed repairs or cost of replacement for your home, as well as to detached units and structures on your property, due to damages caused by fire, water, lightning strikes and other disasters. Examples of detached structures predominantly include tool sheds, barn and garages. Usually excludes damage caused by earthquakes and selected natural disasters. 2) Basic Liability : Provides protection to you against lawsuits resulting from accidents occurring on your property you may be held responsible for. Damage to others or their property inflicted by your dog or children. Also covers you for damage, injuries or bodily harm to others caused by you on or off your property. 3) Personal Property : Provides protection for the contents of your home, such as furnishings, clothing, sports equipment, electronics, appliances and other personal belongings. Collectors items such as artwork and jewellry customarily are not included and require a seperate policy if you wish to have them insured. 4) Living Expenses : This type of homeowners insurance coverage provides payment of expenses incurred in case of temporary relocation due to repairs being done to your home, such as motels. The above mentioned are just basic descriptions of what may be covered by a policy, a homeowner insurance quote will provide you with further detailed information regarding protection. The premiums will vary in rate from person to person, and will depend on certain situations. Free homeowners insurance quotes will also touch on this subject. There is much to cover, but it is important for you to understand what your home owners insurance policy includes. Some Factors Considered to Determine A Premium ; - Crime rate in the area you reside - How old your home is - Square footage - Distance to nearest fire hydrant - Type of home and how may levels - Do you own a dog, and what kind - Property value - Does your municipality or community have its own fire dept. - Type of heating system - Type of locks on doors and windows, alarm system and security devices - Is the area you live in at risk of natural disasters - Previous claims - Condition of plumbing, roof and electrical - Replacement costs and more. Before taking any action, it would be wise to consult a professional regarding any coverage premium and how it is determined. Like with any other type of protection, there is usually a deductible to be paid whenever making a claim, and in regards to this, homeowners insurance coverage does not exclude itself. Ordinarily, the higher the deductible you choose to go with, the lower your premium will be.

Tips on how to arrange cheaper home contents and buildings insurance

: If you are looking for tips on how to reduce the yearly premiums you pay on your home contents and/or home buildings insurance policies, the following are some sure-fire ways to do it: Increase the insurance excess amount While still maintaining a sensible threshold, why not increase the excess amount on the insurance policy? The excess amount is the amount you and the insurance company agree you’ll be liable to pay you can make a claim on the insurance policy. In theory, with an increase in the excess amount should come a reduction in the premium – as there is less chance you’ll claim. Increase your home security Insofar as home contents insurance is concerned, security is a major contributing factor. Therefore, if you want to reduce your home contents insurance premiums, you should seriously consider beefing up your home security system. Depending on the valuation you have put on your home contents, ideas here should include putting in a home alarm system. Rent a safety deposit box While none of us like the idea of keeping our most prized possessions safely locked away in a safety deposit box, if you have one or two very valuable personal items, you may well find that it is a lot less expensive to keep these in a safety deposit box and only bring them out on special occasions than it is to pay an expensive insurance premium to keep them on-hand all the time. Look around for a new insurance provider Although you do need to consider whether or not your home buildings insurance provider is an approved insurance company, so far as your mortgage lender is concerned, these days the insurance industry is a very price competitive one. As such, take advantage of this and look around to see if you can get a cheaper deal either on the Internet or in the real world. Insure against the mortgage value Although it is never recommended practice that you only insure your home buildings against the mortgage loan outstanding, if money is tight and the amount of your mortgage outstanding is not too far off the real value of your home, you may want to consider insuring your home for the value of the mortgage loan outstanding. This way, with a lower home valuation should come reduced premium payments. Although there are a number of ways that you can reduce both your home contents and home buildings insurance, where possible it is best practice that you try to maintain adequate insurance to reflect the real value of all your wonderful possessions.

Tips to help you lower health insurance costs

Health insurance - whether provided by your employer or purchased by you-can be both expensive and complex. To better understand your options and control your health insurance costs, consider these tips and suggestions from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), a voluntary organization of state insurance regulatory officials: Know Your Options • Married couples in situations where both spouses are offered health insurance through their jobs should compare the coverage and costs (premiums, co-pays and deductibles) to determine which policy is best for the family. • Always stay in-network when possible, making sure to get referrals and pre-certifications as required by your plan. • Keep all receipts for medical services, whether in - or out-of-network. In the event you exceed your deductible, you may qualify to take a tax deduction for out-of-pocket medical bills. • Consider opening a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), if your employer offers one, which allows you to set aside pretax dollars for out-of-pocket medical expenses. • If you lose or change jobs, be aware of your rights to continue your group health coverage from your old employer for up to 18 months (though you have to pay the premiums), as provided under COBRA (the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act). Health Insurance Tips for Different Life Stages The NAIC's consumer Web site, Insure U, ( InsureUonline. org), explains the different types of health insurance and gives focused tips to consumers based on their likely needs in different life stages. For example: • Young singles who may not yet have a full-time job that offers health benefits should be aware that in some states, single adult dependents may be able to continue to get health coverage for an extended period (ranging from up to 25 to 30 years old) under their parents' health insurance policies. • Young couples expecting a child should make sure they register their newborn with their health insurance provider within the deadline required. • Established families with children should consider Flexible Spending Accounts if available to help pay for common childhood medical problems such as allergy tests, braces and replacements for lost eyeglasses, retainers and the like, which are often not covered by basic health insurance. • Empty nesters/seniors who are under 65 and no longer employed, but whose COBRA benefits have run out, should research high-deductible medical plans. At this life stage, consumers may want to evaluate whether long-term care insurance makes sense for them.

We all wish to make savings in our life. Cars included. Myriad insurance companies offer varying premium rates depending on their policy coverage. So it is important that you get the best Insurance package for your car. These tips will help you how to manage your Car Insurance budget within limits. Making Comparisons: The costs of at least three to six insurance companies will give you a fair idea of the costs involved with different policies. Seek the advise of colleagues, friends, relatives. Besides from costs involved, the track record of the companies matter a lot. The standing, strength and financial position of the company need to be looked into. Request for higher deductibles - It's the amount one pays prior to making any claim for the accident. The complete coverage and collision is sold along with the deductibles. The more the deductibles the less the premium rate. By increasing the deductible say from $300 to $600 will invariable reduce the cost to 20 to 35 percent. Old Cars - Drop Collision and Comprehensive Coverage - It is better to drop the collision and comprehensive coverage if the car is worth less than 10 times your premium in the current market. One way to reduce the cost is buying the auto coverage from the existing insurance and insurance coverage from existing carrier. No to Double Health Coverage - Avoid health coverage with auto policy provided you have enough health insurance. This is one way of reducing costs. A Good Credit Card Record - This has multiple benefits - helps to file claims if the credit score is less. A good credit score will also help in settling the accident with the help of the company. Low Profile Car Discount - Fancy and trendy cars with high maintenance costs higher rate and attract thieves as well. A low budget, low profile car will help a lot with insurer discounts to boost. Mileage Counts - More discounts can be obtained by driving less than the national average mileage recorded per year. Avoid double health coverage - If you think that you have enough health insurance, and then avoid health coverage with your auto policy. This will help you to reduce the cost. Maintain a good credit record - Insurers are using the credit history while determining the price of insurance. Statistically, the lower your credit score, the more you are likely to file claims. A person with a good credit score is more likely to settle the accident without the support of the company. Try to maintain a good credit record. Discounts with low profile car - Cars that are expensive to repair or attractive to thieves will have a higher rate. Consider buying a low profile or average car as it your insurer might come up with discounts for such a car. Low Mileage Pays - Obtain some discount on premiums by driving less than the national average mileage recorded per year. All about Group Discount - It's all about a group taking insurance plan collectively. Be it an employer, business group or associations. Check for such plans. Safety Discount - Discounts are also offered if the car is fitted with safety items like air bag, automatic seat belts, anti lock brakes. So make safety pay for you.

Top 5 factors determining your car insurance rate

Auto insurance can be confusing and mind boggling sometimes and it’s hard to determine exactly why some individuals are receiving rates which are lower than others. There are many factors which contribute to the rate of auto insurance, some you have control over and others you don’t. Below you will find valuable information regarding the factors which are compiled in order to determine the rate of your car insurance. These will help you understand important aspects of auto insurance and why some individuals receive higher rates than others. Here are the top five factors which auto insurance companies will consider when determining your rate of insurance: 1. Age – Your age will greatly affect the rate of your car insurance. Teenagers and individuals who are just beginning to drive will have higher rates for no reason other than their age. There is nothing you can do about this, as you get older and become a more experienced driver your rates will go down. Although they will go down, they will not stay down. When you reach a certain age your car insurance rates will go back up because you are an elderly driver and your eyes and coordination may not be as effective anymore. 2. Auto Insurance Companies – This is a factor which you have control over. Some car insurance companies offer lower rates than others for many reasons. It is up to you to choose which one will benefit you the most both now and in the long run. 3. Gender – Whether you are male or female will also affect the rate of your car insurance. This is yet another factor which you have no control over. Females generally have lower car insurance rates because according to insurance companies men are seen as potential dangerous and careless drivers who are more likely to be involved in car accidents. 4. Type of Vehicle – As much as we would all love to be driving a shiny silver Porsche Boxter all around town, the insurance rates for these types of vehicles are unreal. If you want your auto insurance rates to be low, I would suggest driving a car with a lower price tag. The more money your car is worth, the higher your car insurance rate will be. 5. Driving Violations – This is another factor which you have control over. I know how tempting it is to race your friends the moment you get your license for the first time, but the amount of money you will pay in the long run hardly seems worth it. Any form of ticket you receive can potentially raise the rate of your car insurance. If you want to pay less for car insurance I would suggest abiding by the rules of the road. Although these are the most important factors in determining your rate of car insurance, there are many other factors which also play a part in how much you will pay. Auto insurance is something we all have to pay for, but by researching and understanding the aspects of this form of insurance you are learning how to reduce your rate to your best ability.

Overexposure to sun, heat and excessive lifting are just a few of these factors. 4. Farm Workers – Much like construction workers, farm workers are at high risk of injury or death due to the fact that they are constantly operating heavy machinery. There are hundreds of farm work related deaths a years and thousands of injuries for individuals working in farm fields. Life insurance and disability insurance are important for individuals in this occupation. 5. Fire Fighters – It is a known fact that fire fighters put their lives on the line everyday to save the lives of others. Knowing the potential consequences and performing the job anyways indicates that these workers deserve the highest level of respect from others. Individuals who have chosen careers in firefighting are also likely to have a life insurance policy. Is your job dangerous? Is your life on the line everyday? Maybe not, but there are many other factors other than your occupation which may indicate you need life insurance.
