So you want to teach as a private music tutor

An Introduction for Musicians For many of today's musicians, working as a private music tutor has many benefits over working within an educational establishment. Firstly, you are a lot freer to choose where, when, and depending on how well you teach, WHO your students are. This will also let you continue whatever employment or other commitments you already have. Building up your student base slowly allows you to commit time to each of them to find out their learning style and prepare for their lessons without feeling overwhelemed suddenly with 30 new students starting next week. Starting out, the idea of being an "expert" can feel rather daunting… especially for those of us who learned by gigging, and may not be the best sight-readers. Others among us have studied music and/or education to higher levels. But no matter where you stand between these two, those first few steps into teaching music as an income is terrifying. Two main advantages I have seen in my time working as a private music tutor are 1. You have a lot more potential to work the hours you choose, and where you choose. Allowing your other commitments time where they need it. 2. If you teach children, generally, they are far more likely to behave and be responsive to teaching when either on their own as there is no one to show off to. School music lessons - especially in junior high school can be pretty hard to control. 3. You can vary the genres and methods you use as you see fit, not as a strict school curriculum requires. 4. You can focus all your attention on one student who WANTS to learn… if they don't, why are you teaching them - your morale will take a huge blow, and your time would be better invested in working with an interested student. Monetary benefits will come into the equation somewhere… let's face it; they have to in this world. However, if all you can see are pound signs and have no real interest to teach, work with others, or enjoy music… perhaps private tuition is not for you. In my personal opinion, private teachers can make a very comfortable living, and with some commitment and effort can easily make Ј40 upwards per hour. It is not unheard of for tutors to have a waiting list of students who want them as their tutor. Once you find yourself in this position, although it isn't time to relax, it is most definitely time to congratulate yourself. You can now (within reason) charge what you REALLY feel you are worth per lesson/hour, as you have people desperately waiting for your time. If you didn't increase your price at this stage it would be foolish. You have developed a product (your tuition service) that is in such a need the demand out numbers the supply - the number of lessons you have available per week. Building your "studio" into this size is an achievable target, but one not as many as could reach it actually do. Those who do are employing valuable marketing techniques whether they realise it or not. One of these marketing techniques is so subtle, many don't even realise they are doing it when they are advertising in their local newspaper or shop window. This is a basic example, but stick with me; this idea can be applied at any time in your teaching career. By advertising in a local newspaper, you are already targeting the first most likely people to use your tuition services… your local community. Unless you are famous for being an incredible musician, people will neither just ask if you would teach them, or travel to find you in the hope you teach music. This one simple ad is telling the local community "I live in this area, and I have spaces available to teach music lessons." I would save the expense and time on that website until further down the line if you live in a small town, the paper would provide a far higher return on income when you are starting off. To develop this further, think what your ads say about you? Do they say professional, or do they say "I can play a few tunes on the piano, let me teach you cos I really need the money" Here are my top 5 mostly marketing techniques for musicians aspiring to earn a decent income from private tuition. 1. Choose a name for your "studio" this can be anything from "Maria's Singing Tuition" to "Bass riff School". Choose one and use it in ALL your advertising 2. Make sure you include contact details on everything - advertising is an obvious one, but what about your pupils' notebooks in case they ever need to cancel a lesson? 3. Make at least two copies of your teaching schedule. One that stays with you (especially if you are as forgetful as me), and one that everyone else in your household can see. This allows them to know when not to disturb you, or when you'll be home. (A third copy is ideal to keep with your musical instrument as a reference.) 4. Make sure that the two copies in point 3 have contact names and numbers for all your students. Should you ever have an emergency, this allows all your pupils to be contacted by another person in your family should you not be able to attend. 5. Don't be afraid to tell people that you teach music - especially if you have spaces available. Word of mouth is the best form of advertising, and when you combine this with the power of NETWORKING, you can only succeed.

Solitaire klondike learn how to play

Since computers entered each and every household, classroom and office, solitaire became the most popular game. It is simple to learn, easy to play, and addictive because of its simplicity. But that was ages ago, and people have begun to grow tired of that same old game. As a result, they turned to new variations and Klondike is the most popular of them. Ironically, its not a new game. The term Klondike as a game surfaces somewhere in the latter part of the nineteen hundred, and historians suggest that it evolved from miners in the Alaskan and Californian mountains to pass the time. How Can You Play Klondike? This is not a difficult game to learn, but what's good is that though you will get the hang of it quickly, its difficult to beat in an addictive way. Its not frustrating, but fun and invigorating. One of the things you must learn is how to lay the cards out. 1) Start by placing one card on the table in front of you. Place it facing up. 2) Place another six cards to its left, but keep these facing down. 3) Place a card facing up to the card left of the first card you placed down. 4) Add another card facing down to all the remaining cards a bit below them so as to form a column. Likewise, continue by placing one open card and then by adding a closed card to the rest. If you follow the instructions properly, you should have it so that last column will have seven cards. Check also that you have twenty-four cards in your hand because these are the cards you will play with. Now What? What you have to try and do is place all the cards on the four different aces. These will appear whenever they do, and you have to try and create the four suited sequence from the ace to the king. The moment you see and ace, place it on the side and start adding the next card. (eg: After an ace, place a two and then a three.) Note that each suit must be according to colour and type. By this I mean that the ace of diamond gets only diamonds, the ace of spades gets only spade cards and so on. Likewise, you can create card sequences down on the base cards as well by placing the card lower than it of the opposite colour. For instance, under a six of clubs, you can place either a five of diamonds or a five of hearts, but the five of clubs or the five of spades is out of the question. Opening the Cards Facing Down When you can use the cards facing up, then you can open the card that appears under it. And like in regular Solitaire, when you manage to open a base card and have only six or less bases, you can open a new base by placing a King there. Moving Sequences You can also move card sequences from one base to another and this doesn't depend on the length of the sequence. All that matters is that the rules of sequence are kept. To use the cards in your hand, take the top three cards and turn them over. But remember that you can use only the top card. Only if and when you use that card, you can use the next one under it. Continue revealing batches of three. Once done, pick up all the cards and start again.

Some student artists in the ohio schools will apprentice this summer

With all the education budget cuts during the past decade and a renewed focus on reading and mathematics, the arts have seen many cutbacks and even programs eliminated. Though educators recognize that the arts is an important subject for graduating well-rounded students, the new government requirements do not leave any time or money to underwrite the programs needed. Thus, students who wish for a career in the arts are the ones now left behind, unless their parents recognize their children’s talent and can afford to send them to private schools. Additionally, students with latent artist abilities may never recognize these skills, since they will not have the opportunity to experience the arts firsthand in the school environment. In the Ohio schools, some students are being given a helping hand. Every June for one month, a few Ohio schools secondary students are given the opportunity to apprentice with a professional artist, actually working on a commissioned project. The program is called Arts LIFT (Lola Isroff Fund for Teens). The Ohio schools teens are selected from the Akron high schools and spend three days at the Cuyahog Valley Environmental Education Center for a retreat. Then, they work under the direction and tutelage of the professional artist. This year, ten Ohio schools teens will be apprenticed under Akron artist and professional ceramist Beth Lindenberger. After their three-day retreat, the Ohio schools teens will create large-scale, permanent ceramic sculptures at the University of Akron’s Myers School of Art. The artwork will be installed at the Environmental Education Center at the end of June. A public reception follows in July at the Art School. Throughout the Ohio schools teens apprentice period, exhibits of artworks from their personal portfolios will be exhibited at the Art School in the Emily David Gallery, Folk Hall. Each student receives a stipend for their participation. Arts LIFT won a Collaborative Project Award from the Akron Area Arts Alliance in 2005. The apprentice program was conceived and is directed by Elisa Gargarells, a University of Akron art education assistant professor. The purpose of the program is to give Ohio schools students in Akron a chance to work with and see professional artists in the context of using their talents for hire in the real world. The program also seeks to connect Ohio schools students with institutions that deal with conservation and environmental issues, as well as real ecological efforts. The desired outcome is for Ohio schools students to see that their artistic talents are marketable as a career, as well as being able to help the community and environment. Previous Ohio schools students in the program have created: • Large hanging, stained glass butterflies for the Corbin Conservatory at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens in 2004; • About 40 ceramic sculptures for the Crown Point Ecology Center’s perennial garden in 2003; and • An animal habitat-themed mural for the Akron Zoo’s educational outreach van in 2002. Though cutbacks and educational refocusing have severely hurt the arts program in the Ohio schools, some students in Akron are getting the encouragement they need and deserve.

Space exploration what s out there

The first Space Exploration started in 1957 with the launch of the first artificial satellite, Sputnik 1, sent into space by the Soviets. Since ancient times people have dreamed of leaving their home planet and exploring other worlds not known to man. Every era through out history has had a belief as to what the "heavens" are made form. The Greeks believed that the stars and space were made of a material called "Quitenses", and other culture once thought that the stars were made of their peoples passed away. We know now what stars are really made of; they are made of various gases that explode over and over again. Up until about 43 years ago people did not have the means to travel to or send objects into space. The hardest part of traveling into space was developing rockets that were powerful enough and reliable enough to boost an object into space. Common heard of Space Exploration terms are Comets and Asteroid's. A comet is basically small, rocky, and icy and revolves around the sun. When a comet passes close to the sun some of the ice turns to gas. This gas and some loose dust creates a long, bright tail that trails behind the comet. If a comet was to hit the earth, it would cause some serious damage. As an example even if something relatively small in size hit the earth, it would cause great damage. Small from an comet's point of size is around 200 metres in diameter and if this was to hit an ocean it would create devastation to all cities within a large radius. Asteroid's are described as small or minor planets that are members of the solar system and move in what are called elliptical orbits. They are usually found between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter.

Speed read faster than ever 4 brilliant tips

Many people, particularly students, would love to be able to absorb information faster. But before retaining information, they have to go through the first stage of learning, which is reading. For many individuals who are pressed for time, speed reading has become a necessity. However, it's not just the reading part that is important. Equally essential is for the reader to fully understand the words coming out from the book or paper. Here are some great tips to read and comprehend faster. 1) Relax. If you're in the stressed mode, it would be much more difficult to concentrate; hence, it would just be a lot harder for the information to sink in. 2) Know what you want. Focus on the areas that you really need to learn. Some people read all parts of a book, when all they need to know is a specific chapter. Know your priority. If you need to find out about a certain subject, go to the Table of Contents and search for the heading that best suits your need. If you need to learn more, then adjust accordingly. The important thing is to weed out the stuffs that you don't currently need. 3) Get rid of the structure words. Did you know that around 60% of the words we read are structure words? Examples are the words "the, or, and." They are essential in the structure of the sentences; but when you ignore them, they basically mean the same thing. They only serve to beautify, yet you can understand what you are reading even without them. Try not to focus too much attention on structure words. 4) Practice, practice, practice. When I started exercising with weights, I can only lift the lighter ones. As the time goes by, I slowly add more and more weights as my body tends to adjust and become more comfortable carrying heavier ones. The same concept goes for speed reading. Set a goal. Figure out how fast you can read, then create a plan to increase your ability. If you can read 200 words per minute, set a goal to read 250 words a minute. After accomplishing this feat, set a goal to read 300 words per minute. This takes time and practice, but the effort is all worth it. If this is your first time to set such a goal, read first those materials you are familiar with. Carry on with more difficult ones as you progress. This way, you're not overwhelming yourself with understanding different new words and at the same time developing your speed reading skills.

Speed reading getting the main idea

Getting the main idea in reading is central to effective studying. You must learn what the author's central idea is, and understand it in your own way. Every paragraph contains a main idea. Main ideas are perfect for outlining textbooks. Make it a habit to find the main idea in each paragraph you read. Extracting Important Details Extracting important details mean that you locate in your reading main and most significant ideas. There is usually one important detail associated with every main idea. The more important details you can identify, the easier it will be to review for examinations because you have made a link between an idea and information that supports it. The more links you can make between details and ideas, as well as ideas themselves, the more powerful will be the efforts of your study. The first things to ask yourself are: “Why you are reading the text? Are you reading with a purpose or just for pleasure? What do you want to know after reading it?” In other words, identify your purpose. Once you know this, you can examine the text to see whether it is going to move you towards this goal. An easy way of doing this is to look at the introduction and the chapter headings. The introduction should let you know whom the book is targeted at, and what it seeks to achieve. Chapter headings will give you an overall view of the structure of the subject. After grasping ideas from chapter introductions, ask yourself whether the book meets your needs. Ask yourself if it assumes too much or too little knowledge. If the book weren't ideal, would it be better to find a better one? Take 1-2 minutes to skim through the article to find the core idea. Know what is being expressed. Do you need more details? If not, find another article. Read lightly and flexibly. Know what you need. Slow down to fulfill your purpose, answering questions that are most important to you. Since very few words carry the meaning, speed up to pass redundant or useless information.

    Speed reading basics

Speed reading is vital in today’s business and academic world, with the vast information that the internet offers, and the huge amounts of reading tasks an average manager or student faces, there is really no choice but to try and increase the intake of information. In the last forty years there has a been an explosion of information, we are living the information revolution and that requires a lot of young professionals a great deal of effort in digesting this information and making good use of it. Most of the people who attend speed reading courses and classes have some kind of problem, or believe they have some kind of problem, with their reading, here are a few of these potential problems. Lack of concentration or partial/impaired concentration is an obvious problem for speed reading, the effects of the environment on ones reading rhythm and the general tendency of some people to be able of acceptable reading rate only in ideal situations. This problem is one of the basic speed reading problems and is usually dealt with in most courses. Poor eye movement may cause some readers to shift their eyes to other directions and than go back to the book or paper to relocated the last point read. This problem also correlates with poor mechanical skills, which can be a real problem in speed reading. Short attention span is a clear problem, almost everyone knows this problem, you start strong and begin to slow down as you read on. This kind of problem typically creates a situation of going back to re-read some lines over and over again, or a need to read the same sentence a couple of times for lack of understanding or loosing the line of thought altogether. Reading by heart, when a person reads to himself (muttering the words or even reading out load) is an obvious problem since speed reading is much faster than talking, the reading out load inhibited the ability to read fast and also regulates a slow input of information into the cognitive. Delayed reaction to information and material – This delay often comes from inattention, reading ahead or distraction. Desire to remember every word – This is loosely related to the tendency to re-read or slow down. So what can you do to increase your reading skills? Do you really need to try speed reading you should you consider just eliminating some of these problems. The answer is most likely dependent of what you need, no matter what you problem is, you need to address the problem. To try and read faster, here are a few tips that would get you going. Think of reading as a ‘pick and choose’ activity, where you can choose to read the words and phrases that are critical to comprehension, and skip over the connective tissue. One major key in speed reading is filtering out all the words that has nothing to do with the subject and naturally, there a lot of them. All the connecting words, basically words that are there to connect one word with the other to make a sentence (TO make A sentence) the “and” “it’s” and “and’s” have got to go, just make yourself blind to them, go over these words and do not dwell on reading or noticing them. Practicing time reading is also good, set up a timer and see how much you read in one minute, and in five minutes. Try and honestly estimate how much did you get from the text (make sure this is something you read for the first time), and try to beat yourself at this over and over again, until you start to feel that you have moved up one level. Experiment with different texts, and try to find books with text that has some questions about what you just read so you can apprise your understanding. Evaluate your situation every time you do this, reading faster sometimes mean that you will make more mistakes on understanding the subject, you should start making “mental notes” while reading so you will not fail answering the questions. Train yourself to read more quickly by forced timing. If you are a runner, training for a race, you go out and run every day and you try to improve your time or your distance. Set a timer and run a reading race every day for two to four weeks. You do not have to spend more than five minutes on this exercise. You may become frustrated, at first, by the fact that you cannot read as fast or remember as much as you would like. Practice makes perfect, and this is the most basic thing you can do to increase your reading speed, in two weeks you should see some improvement, and you should work on the weaker aspects of your reading skills. This is the start of speed reading, and once you master the basics you will be on your way to becoming a speed reader.

Sports betting tips how to bet on sports successfully

Sports betting is one of the most exciting types of gambling. The suspense, the tension, the great satisfaction when it turns out that you have made the correct prediction, not to mention the added bonus of winning cash money… Even if you are not a particular sports fan, betting on sports certainly adds an interest in sports. There is more than one way to bet on sports. You can choose between flying to Vegas and placing a bet at one of the flashy casino sportsbook while watching sports on big plasma screens, staying at home and wagering at one of the thousands of online sportsbooks available on the net, at your neighborhood bookie, your office pool… Wherever you choose to wager, here are some useful sports betting tips. Sports betting is a game of skill, which takes years of learning and practicing to master and still, even professional gamblers who make their living from betting on sports, lose. It basically means two things: first, intuition and luck are great benefits in sports betting as in other types of gambling, but if you rely exclusively on them, you are doomed to lose lots of money. Second, restrain your expectations and try to have fun. In sports betting, as in most types of gambling, the advantage is not on your side. However, the knowledgeable bettor has better odds of enjoying a successful sports betting experience than the spontaneous gambler who places a bet following his gut feeling and wishful thinking. Therefore, do your homework and make sure you understand the basics of sports betting. Learn everything you can about the odds, the type of sports, the teams or players who take part in the match you are betting on. All the information you are seeking is available online within a mouse click distance, so there is no reason to be lazy about it. If you are betting online, choose only reputable online sportsbooks that have been around for at least a year, are licensed, regulated and members of a gambling association, so if you will not be paid on time, or at all, at least you would have an address for your complaints. Limit yourself to a small selection of games to wager on. The more games you pick the lower the chances of stepping out as winner. While you choose, make sure that you know why you making your specific decision. Again, giving full trust to your intuition and or your emotion as a sports fan is the best strategy to empty your bankroll. If you cannot help but wagering on your favorite team regardless to the odds and to the basic common sense, at least make it minimal: place small amount of money so you would still be able to have fun watching the game. If, God forbid, you lose, do not be tempted to bet more or you will end up in an endless circle of chasing your bets. Trust me; you do not want to go there. If you win big time, do not invest your entire winning on betting at once. It will be wiser and more responsible to be satisfied with betting only a certain portion of your winning. Remember, proportion is a key word. Taking everything in proportion, including when winning, losing your money and or watching your favorite team lose, is the best strategy to minimize the financial and emotional damage. and do not forget to have fun!

Spotlight on success program to benefit arizona schools

For many years, the Arizona schools have experienced a lot of negative publicity that affects its ability to recruit talent, garner extra funding, and keep students in the public school system. Current superintendent Tom Horne says that much of this publicity is unwarranted and unfair to the Arizona schools that have made many positive strides toward improving education. To counter this unwanted publicity, Horne developed the Spotlight on Success program for the Arizona schools. Basically, the program works to put as much positive publicity about the Arizona schools into the public spotlight as possible. The superintendent, himself, seeks as many opportunities available for public speaking and voicing his opinions and facts about the Arizona schools to the media. His goal is to emphasize the positive inroads Arizona schools have made both in his public statements and when quoted in the media, and he to refutes any false negative publicity with ruthless tenacity. Not too long ago, many newspapers within the state of Arizona and across the nation carried a negative story where a Kansas company designated Arizona as the “dumbest state in the country”. The story was quite untrue. Arizona schools students performed above the national average in Terra Nova (the only nationally-normed test), which is taken by essentially all Arizona schools students. Though Arizona schools ranks 49th out of 50 states in expenditures per student, the funding handicap has not affected the ability of the Arizona schools to educate their students above the national average. Horne is quick to remind the media of these statistics. Another example of false negative publicity is that the Arizona schools have one of the highest dropout rates in the country, according to the “Kids Count” measurement. Horne says the count is incorrect, since the census was used for the measurement — otherwise, whenever the census reporter was told a child between the ages of 16 and 19 was not attending school, it was used to blame the Arizona schools. Many of these children were beyond the control of the Arizona schools, such as children from other countries who have never been enrolled with the Arizona schools, or those who had attended only private schools. If the Arizona schools do not know a child exists, they have no opportunity to educate them. Three national organizations that keep valid comparative statistics on graduation rates across the nation are Manhattan Institute, Urban Institute, and United Health Foundation. Their most recent figures are from 2002, and all three report that the Arizona schools are at the national average of about 70 percent (plus or minus one percent). Since 2002, the Arizona schools graduation rate has grown from 72.7 percent to 77 percent. According to Horne, unless the rest of the country has had an equally dramatic growth in graduation rates, the Arizona schools are now substantially above the national average. Horne plans to continue his efforts to refute the erroneous negative publicity about the Arizona schools, which he believes continue to do an excellent job in improving their educational standards. This information on Arizona schools is brought to you by schoolsk-12.

St louis schools implement mandatory summer school for all eighth graders

For some time within the public schools across the nation, there has been a focus on academic achievement by improving basic skills, decreasing the high school dropout rate, and preparing students to enter both college and the workplace. The St Louis schools have found that too many ninth graders are unprepared for the crucial years of high school. Many are so far behind in basic skills that they never catch up and eventually drop out of school. Others go on to graduate with only a meager grasp of the core subjects. These St Louis schools students are unprepared to enter college, to merge into the workplace, or even to have a successful life. The St Louis schools believe that the key is to shore up the basic skills of the eighth graders. It is a time in a student’s educational life that can make or break their successful forward progress. The St Louis schools want to ensure eighth graders know the core subjects that are built upon in high school and to motivate these children to learn and to succeed. The St Louis schools intend to put all of their students on the path to success — not failure. This year, the St Louis schools implemented what they consider a necessary intervention — it is now mandatory for all eighth graders to attend summer school. Here, students will focus on preparing for success at the high school level. The St Louis schools eighth graders will be expected to achieve proficiency in the communication arts and mathematics, which are crucial to achievement and success in high school, college and the workplace. Those eighth graders, who do not require remedial work in these subjects, will be enrolled in summer science camp. Is it any wonder that St Louis schools educators were looking forward to summer school with mixed emotions. There were feelings of anticipation, knowing that this move by the St Louis schools would give the students the best boost academically. Yet, there were some concerns that students and parents might rebel against the mandate. Anticipation won out for the St Louis schools as the first day of summer school arrived. Nearly 80 percent of the eighth graders were enrolled by the week before the start of summer school — that is more than 1,800 students. Many more eighth graders showed up as walk-ins on the first day. The St Louis schools believe that summer school is off to a great start, which is a tribute to both the students and their parents. This is the type of commitment to academic growth that is truly rewarding — for the students, their parents, and the St Louis schools.

Start teaching your children at an early age

It is really never too early to start teaching your children about money. And the sooner you begin teaching your children about money the better chance they will grow up to have a well-rounded and responsible appreciation of the uses and value of money. Some parents may not begin to teach children about managing money at an early age because they simply don't understand where or how to begin. In the very beginning when children are very young money education can begin simply by teaching them to identify various coins. You can then reinforce what money is used for by taking your children shopping even at an early age and pointing out what is going on. As children get a little older and into elementary school this might be a good time to start providing a weekly allowance for each child. It really doesn't matter how much this allowance is. The child should be taught about what would be appropriate uses of this money as well as the consequences of spending too carelessly. This is also a good time to begin to teach your children about the importance of regularly giving whether it be to a local church or charitable organization. If there is a particular item that your child wishes to purchase that is a perfect opportunity to teach them how many times they will need to receive an allowance in order to save enough for this purchase. Another way you can begin to teach your children the value of managing money carefully is to take them with you on trips to the grocery store. Lead them through the process of comparing various brands of the same product in order to determine what would be the best value. Elementary children can also learn a lot about money if they are encouraged to seek out ways to earn money by helping with chores around the house. As children get older and into their teenage years, is a good idea to continue to give allowances but these allowances should be tied to household task and other obligations for which they are required to do. Some additional suggestions for money education in late teenage years include: allowing children to do the family grocery shopping, and evolving them in planning a budget for an upcoming trip, and helping them complete their tax returns if they're employed. For older teens it can also be a helpful learning experience to help them secure a small installment loan. This will teach them to learn to budget for regular financial obligations as well as build their credit. Take the time to teach your children about the proper management of money and they will be much better prepared to be financially responsible adults.

    Stop the snore

I am always amused by the never ending argument between the snoring people and their beloved ones whom are forced to listen to the orchestra every night. Well, at least I was until I have found out that the joke is on me. One morning I was blamed for snoring, my first reply was: I never snore, you must be wrong. Soon I was proven wrong, heard myself recorded on tape, and it was unbearable. Believe me, my wife was very close to divorce me for that. Since I love her very much I had to find a cure for snoring real fast, and so I did. Before I could find a solution I had to figure out why I was snoring in the first place. I have found that I am not alone. About 44% of men and 28% of women age 30 to 60 suffer from this phenomenon. Snoring usually takes place when the upper parts of our breathing path, at the palate, weaken. As a result when we breathe the air passing through these parts causes sides vibration, these vibrations are snoring. In drastic situations it could lead to breathing-pauses which degrade our blood oxygen level. This might lead to increased blood pressure, heart bit pace disorder and even a stroke. That information alone has convinced me that this is truly my problem and not my wife’s, and the sooner I find a solution the better. I have found a few nice ways each comes from a different perception. The first things I have found were conventional: from a dental device which moves the jaw forward to open the airway through laser surgery and finally some throat spray. I did not like these solutions so I kept looking and found some unusual tactics, one is really worth mentioning: a signing instructor has developed series of exercises, same as professional singers do, to strength the weaken parts of our throat. This seams very nice and healthy but I hate signing so I had to find something that suited me. Finally I have found a cure that ended my, and especially my wife’s, misery. It was perfectly for me, I could do it every day and it did solve my snoring problem. I have found that aerobic activity for at least 30 minutes a day completed cured me. It could be basketball, walking, football, just pick your most enjoyable plan and stick to it. Today I enjoy a very good night sleep and my wife loves me twice as much.

Stressing the field of interest in post college admission essays

Many students often struggle in selecting a topic for their post college admission essays, including MBA essays (or graduate school admission essay) as part of the requirements in gaining admission to a school of their choice. In most cases, the school itself will present a topic(s) for the post college admission essay which the student can expound on and this will become a good starting point or guideline for the post college admission essay, including MBA essays. In many instances, however, the student is left to fend for himself, where the admission essay questions posed are very general and open. In such cases, the applicant is left in the dark, not having an ounce of an idea on what to write about in his post college admission essay, including MBA essays. In very simple terms, a post college admission essay including MBA essays, should tell a basic picture of yourself. It should be able to present a clear and definite description of you as a person, including the things that you love to do, the things that make you laugh or cry, your experiences at home, at school, in your local church, fun and adventure with friends, basically the things that make you who you are at the present moment, which in turn convey to the reader (admission officer) why you are good candidate for admission to their graduate program. However, a very important aspect that should never be absent in any post college admission essay including MBA essays, is a precise and detailed narrative of a candidate's academic experiences. More specifically, it should be able to express in genuine terms accounts of how the candidate was able to obtain good grades in certain subject areas that are considered as major subjects in the course he is taking up. At the same time, don’t avoid addressing weaker grades or negative marks. Face them head on and provide a good and logical explanation in the post college admission essay, including MBA essays. Let us suppose, for example, that a student has finished his undergraduate studies in journalism and wants to take up a master degree in the same field with specialization in literary criticism. In his post college admission essay, he can detail an experience in one college subject where the teacher asked them to produce three short stories by the end of the semester. Since literature has always been his favorite subject, the student was able to meet the requirement early and was even able to receive a high grade from his teacher at the end of the course. The sample given above is just one of the many ways by which a candidate can elaborate on the concept of presenting specific accounts on how he fared in his major field of concentration as expressed in his post college admission essay, including MBA essays. Other related accounts can and should be given in post college admission essays to better persuade admissions officials that the applicant is well-versed in his field and has the required ability to pursue higher learning in the same. Needless to say, a student's excellent grades on his major subjects denotes expertise and passion in his chosen field. It gives clear indications that the field he has decided to pursue is one that greatly interests him. As such, he is able to pour all his energy and efforts, and more so, his heart and soul into it, resulting in grades that are outstanding. Generally, this gives the admissions officer the feeling that the applicant is focused and driven to achieve in his chosen field of study. Focusing on your field of concentration as a topic in your post college admission essay including MBA essays, is an effective way of convincing admissions officials that your application is worth giving due consideration because you showed focus and the desire to pursue your chosen field of study. More so, if in using such a topic in your post college admission essay including MBA essays, you are able to show specific instances in one or two subjects wherein you were able to excel.
