    Purpose for life

How many people do you think ponder the meaning in life and if it has any meaning? Do you think you are alone when wondering why things don't make sense? With all the death and dying in the world what is the purpose of life? You are not alone as all of us have been made by God and even though we have distinct personalities we are in fact the same. We all have the same needs, wants and searching for the same thing in life; happiness. Sometimes happiness seems out of reach. You struggle and struggle and you can seem to keep afloat. Like swimming in a toilet bowl you go a round and a round and a round until you're finally flushed. All the articles that I have ever read about what people wanted most out of life surprised me. I expected it to say, cars, houses, fame, money, and prestige. This is not what it said. What it said is that most want peace, love, and joy. I guess thats why Zig Ziglar the worlds greatest motivator said that money can buy you a house but it won't buy you a home. In fact I have read that some who become instant millionaires are the most loneliest people in the world. They either become so arrogant and no one can stand to be around them. Some find out who there friends really are. So what to you do to find the things that are important in life? Start with relationships. How is your relationship with your husband or significant other? If its not everything its cracked up to be maybe you need to make it better or move on. What about family members? Are they a great support to you or do they just bring you down? How about your children? How long has it been since you spent some quality time with them no matter how old they are? Quality time not just a trip to the movies. One important relationship that is about all is God. What is your relationship with Him? I heard at a seminar once that those who attend church make almost fifteen percent more income then non-church goers. In fact most report an over all happiness and zest for life. No their lives were no where near perfect. They have had death, illness, accidents and other things have happen to them. However the difference is being a Christian gives you a different attitude or outlook with each situation faced with. God has promised that everything will eventually work out for good. Romans 8:28. However this promise is for Christians only. It goes on to say for those who love God and are called according to his purpose. So yes you are going to struggle with different things in your life. You are going to wonder at times is it all worth it and if there is any real purpose for anything in life. The answer is God. He is the creator of all things and in him is life and without him there is no life.

Put your faith in god when your fears overwhelm you

Sometimes, your fears may overwhelm you to the point that you feel like giving up. When this happens, the next step is to put your faith in God. Using the help of God can make a big difference in overcoming your fears. The first step a person should do is to start talking and praying to God. A person can go to church or to a quiet place during the day to tell God that they are having a problem. They should tell God how they feel and ask God for some of his help. A person could also review the Bible and read some articles on trusting in God and then apply these concepts in their life. Each and every day, a person should make it up a habit to talk to God and ask for his help. In addition, learn as much as you can in managing anxiety and depression. There are many books and information that will educate you on how to deal with fear and anxiety. Share this information with others who may be able to help you. Education is the key in finding the answers your looking for in managing your fears. Think positive. A good way to manage your fear is to challenge your negative thinking with positive statements and realistic thinking. When encountering thoughts that make your fearful or anxious, challenge those thoughts by asking yourself questions that will maintain objectivity and common sense. Sometimes, it helps to be able to talk to someone about our stressful situations. Talking to a trusted friend, counselor, or clergyman can not only make us feel better, but they might be able to give you additional advice and insights on how to deal with your current problem. Getting help from a professional will make this entire process easier and will increase your chances of success. As a Layman, I realized that God is stronger than your fears. The important thing is to continue praying and talking to God. Talk to God as if you were talking to a friend. Read the Bible and pray hard. Be persistent and be open in the avenues that God may provide to you in solving your problem. It is not always easy, however God is in control and he will help you if you ask him.

    Regulating headstones and memorial masons

In the UK there are 2 governing bodies that regulate the headstones and memorial sector. 1. National Association of Memorial Masons 2. British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons. National Association of Memorial Masons (NAMM) Founded in March 2007 The National Association of Memorial Masons aims to protect the interest s of customers using stone masons in the UK. Its objective is to promote good practice throughout the industry with reference to natural stone memorials. All members of the National Association of Memorial Masons strive to meet a set code of ethics including; A member shall do all in his power to uphold and maintain the dignity of the Craft. He shall never attempt to persuade a customer to cancel an order when once placed with a competitor. British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons (BRAMM) Set up in 2004 The British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons scheme aims to develop a network of nationally accredited companies across the UK. Their main objectives are: To establish a recognised uniform standard of workmanship and company practice throughout the UK. To ensure all companies, Fixers and Burial Authorities on the BRAMM register follow the current health and safety guidelines to protect both the public and their employees. To ensure that BRAMM companies give a guarantee of the stability of their memorials and headstones. To enforce the scheme to ensure it will be effectively policed so that acceptable and consistent standards of instillation are maintained. To encourage development and training for employees within the memorial masonry industry. Many customers in the UK who require the services of a stone mason are now actively seeking companies that are members of the National Association of Memorial Masons or the British register of Accredited Masons.

    Religion institution or revolution

In writing any article about religion you run the risk of people not agreeing with you or the risk of offending people. Does that mean we should not write about religion? Absolutely not. Should we worry that people might be offended? No. We should not go out of our way to offend people, but as long as you write your true beliefs, then you are doing what is in your heart and should share that with others. For many churches, Christianity and religion have become institutions. Power, politics, money, and other worldly things have become the focus of these institutions. Many people who read this article will find what I have to say uncomfortable. Jesus never promised that you or I would be made comfortable in this life and in this article I don't promise to make you feel comfortable either. Jesus calls the church to reach out to the community, to the poor, the sick, and to those who do not know Christ. Jesus promised that He would provide for our needs as long as we use what he provides to do His will and to bring Him glory. He taught us to believe him for this promise and to act as knowing that He will fulfill that promise. Instead, these days many churches focus on survival. They plan their budgets to make sure they bank enough money for a rainy day, hire business managers and treat the church as if it is a business entity rather than a church whose mission it is to do GOD's work. Politics is one area that many churches and religious institutions have focused much of their attention. They lobby politicians, get involved in campaigns, and donate money that does not belong to them to politicians who promise much but deliver very little. Does not belong to them? What do I mean by that? Tithes do not belong to the church they belong to GOD. Tithes are to be used for GOD's purposes. Nowhere in the bible can I find where helping politicians get elected is a proper use for money tithed to GOD. Jesus did not lobby the Pharisees and the Roman government for laws that force people to follow His way. Jesus taught people right from wrong, then gave them a choice of whether or not they would follow Him. Through the bible, Jesus still teaches us right from wrong and offers us that same choice. It is our job as Christians and as church leaders to teach GOD's word to others and let them know that Jesus has offered them that choice. We cannot rely on governments to pass laws to do our job for us. Saying that we need to lobby for those laws to be passed to force people to do what is moral is saying we as Christians and the church cannot or will not do the job GOD intends for us to do. Most people have an image of Jesus Christ as meek and mild, a healer of the sick, a helper to the poor, and our Lord and Savior who loves us. Jesus is all of those things, but Jesus was and is also a revolutionary! Jesus stood up to those in power in both religion and in government. Jesus challenged them. Jesus told them they had no right to oppress His people. Jesus went out and consorted with the poor, the sick, prostitutes, tax collectors, and other sinners. He ministered to the unbelievers. He did not spend all His time at the sanctuary preaching to believers. Rather than churches becoming institutions they should be leading revolutions. Rather than just surviving and preserving traditions and rules, they should be throwing all of GOD's money forward to help those in need and to reach those who do not know Christ as their Savior. Rather than worrying about building new roofs, buying stained glass windows, and buying new carpet and pews, we should be worrying about breaking down walls and calling unbelievers to join us. Church is not just a place where believers gather to worship, it is also a place where believers gather to teach unbelievers about Christ. So many Christians today think all they need to do is attend church, pray, and do good things, then wait for Jesus to return. Jesus charged us with much more than that. Jesus charged us to change those around us, to change communities, to change the world. He charged us with teaching his word and to bring more people to him so they can have everlasting life. Cowards hide and wait to be rescued and GOD despises cowards more than any others. Become the revolutionary that Jesus called you to be. Allow Him to use you to achieve His purpose rather than praying that He will help you achieve yours. It is not about you.

    Religion and disasters

When natural disasters occur, do you blame God ? Many people do ! Whatever your religion (or lack thereof), it's very tempting to attribute all major disasters to an Almighty Being, casting its rage down upon mankind. To do so gives comfort, even in the face of death, carnage and despair, because if God is responsible then at least someone is in charge, and hopefully they have a master plan which will culminate sometime in the future as something good and perhaps wonderful. However, to NOT blame God presents us with a frightening proposition - if God isn't causing these disasters then NOBODY is in control of this Earth and all the bad things that occur. If there is no god involved, then mankind is truly at the mercy of a rather nasty Mother Nature, who has no master plan except to beat us into submission. Even in the unlikely event that we survive the hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, droughts and ultra-violet rays, not to mention asteroid and comet impacts, eventually our sun is absolutely guaranteed to blow up and scorch everything in the solar system to death. Until civilisation casts aside its fragility, and until humanity as a whole becomes advanced enough to sidestep any disasters thrown our way, having someone up in the sky to blame is going to be part of conventional thinking for some time yet.

    Religion and science

No matter what do we do for living, how educated we are, how wealthy we are and how nice we look, we all have different beliefs in what is the supra power upon us all. This is what we call religion. Its roots go deep into the matriarchal way of life of our predators when totems became first gods and were honored as such. It is a very interesting topic to research and to investigate and we still have some scientist working in this field. Religion was founded to explain natural phenomena and weakness of the humans in front of it. Who else, but God could be stronger than a human? First Gods were animals and plants that were admired and could serve as an example somehow. But there had to be a superior being to support and to help a weak person to find his way and get rid of confusion. Later on it developed into an anthropomorphically religion that gave Gods same traits as humans have and their extra powers didn’t help them to stay out of trouble and this caused sometimes a loss of their immortality. We call all polytheistic believes pagan religions but can’t but agree that ancient literature works are a big credit to them. There are some more monotheistic religions like Christianity which are widely spread today, like Buddhism, Islam and a lot more. These religions are equally honored though one can say that they differ greatly. Christianity lays its basis on the Holy Bible, the Book of the Books that has to be read by every Christian man. If I were to judge I can’t call Christianity monotheistic, for the belief is focused on The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit which are to be honored and loved more than anything. In his personal essay St. Augustine writes that he has sacrificed everything people call pleasures to leave a life dedicated to the service to the Lord. The belief is so deep that can easily be used to put somebody up to something. That’s why religion turned out to be a strong and stable tool in hands of governors of the state. This is where science starts developing. The speed is so fast that religion can’t catch up and gain its former authority. The matter is that some of the new discoveries ruined several church dogmas that were lectured for several hundred years. This is where inquisition comes on stage. Honorable priests were sure that all the inventions that were relatively contradicting to the former ideas were the creation of the devil and his airs. This was also used as a nice way to kick rivals of their track and successfully move forward. There were wars organized because of conflicts on religious ground, for example King Richard the Third and his war against Saracens. Nowadays Christianity as a religion is not much involved in politics, except Vatican, the residence of Pope. A lot of custom research papers can be written on such an interesting topic. As for Islam, the question is hard to answer, they strictly stick to their traditions and violation of the rules brings strict punishment. Science plays an important role in the development processes in the country. Science gives income and that’s what makes research very important. Religion takes care of the mental side of a person. If one refuses to believe and becomes an atheist, he’ll eventually have no convictions left, for religion is the essence of morays and folkways piled up by centuries of experience. You can’t make anybody turn into a believer, but you may want to change your lifestyle a bit. Religion and science may easily co-exist as modern society can prove.

    Religious conflict between india pakistan

: It is indeed a shame to associate conflicts with religion. Does Christianity summon Christian extremists to bomb abortion clinics in the West? Does Islam summon Muslims in Palestine to kill Israelis and themselves in suicidal attacks? Does Hinduism preach kidnap and kill those who are against Hinduism? To most Indians and I am sure Pakistanis as well as also to most people of other religion will more than agree that such practices are wrong and must be condemned. Religions do not contain inherent “conflict-genes”, making unsolvable conflicts an inevitable outcome of their co-existence. Conflicts involving religion are always the result of misperceptions in our minds. In mid-nineties Samuel P. Huntington became widely known for his fright-provoking prediction of a future worldwide clash of civilizations. This new dilemma would amount to nothing less than a “re-making of the world order”. The Cold War logic of states uniting with either of two ideologically opposed superpowers would be replaced by a pattern of unity determined by the dominating religions. A possible outcome of this separation of the world society would be a world order derived from and determined by religious differences. Looking at the current international scene one could be tempted to conclude that actual happenings are giving real life to Huntington’s scenario. Western political elites especially are applying an approach, portraying Islam as the root cause of terror. This is dangerous. It threatens to demonize followers of a specific religion thereby running the risk of producing endless counter-demonizations adding to a security dilemma of Cold War type where every step taken by one part is perceived as a threat by the other who then has to retaliate… Essentially, the approach is also an assault on the religion Islam itself. It implies that all Muslims are extremists, which is as inaccurate as saying that the ultra rightwing moral majority in USA fairly represents Christianity. One of many shortcomings in the world of today is judging Islam by the conduct of a minority of its people. If a religion is to be judged on its role in conflict this should logically be done on the basis of its sources, not on the basis of extreme acts of a tiny minority of its self-proclaimed followers. In the case of Islam the sources are the Qur’an and Sunna (teachings of prophet Muhammad), e. g.: “Allah commands justice and doing good and giving to relatives. And He forbids indecency and doing wrong and tyranny. He warns you so that hopefully you will pay heed” (Qur’an, 16:90). Even though religions are essentially about building peace, they are unfortunately sosmetimes misinterpreted and misused. When this happens it is a result of constructions of the mind about religion and about “the other”. In the current global conflict between religious fundamentalists and secularists, for instance, each party perceives and talks about the other as posing threats to their societal orders and ways of living. When secularists preach secular state, pluralism, and abolishment of Sharia-laws, fundamentalists perceive it as attacks on Islam. Secularists on the other hand perceive religious fundamentalism as an existential threat to their societies and ways of life. They almost regard the secular society as something holy. What were once open societies have become xenophobic entities. Many religious leaders have expressed the need for harmony and unity in the fight against terror. Ironically, the biggest obstacle seems to be the political leaders who are fully occupied with demonizing “axis’s of evil” and “opponents of freedom”. There is need for clarification of religion and its relationship to conflict. Firstly, it must be appreciated that it is not religion as such but specific fundamentalist constructions of religion that produces conflict like India Pakistan. Secondly, religious fundamentalism itself tends to transform religion into ideology. This is an assault on religion that can only be done well through re-mystification. Religious conflicts are a product of misperception in our minds. Let us not create another cold war conflict based on them.

No religion legitimizes conflict! His Excellency, Mohamed Khatami, Presedent of Iran, once complained in an inter-religious forum: “Dialogue amongst civilizations, particularly dialogue between Islam and Christianity is vital, essential and inevitable. Today, people speak of the global village. However, the problem is that residents of this global village are unable to understand each other. Isn’t it catastrophic that people of this village are deaf and dumb and worse than that, they have hostile thoughts toward each other".

    Religious dating traditions and values

Dating someone with the same religious beliefs as you, can often result in a rewarding relationship where both you and your partner can share in the same values and traditions. It also means that if your dating becomes serious, you are less likely to have problems with family members disapproving of your choice. Of course, it shouldn't matter if they disapprove of your date or not, but in all honesty, the opinion of anyone you respect or love will have an effect on you, which could lead to problems. Regardless of which religion you belong to Muslim, Christian, Jewish, etc. you will discover that there are many ways you can connect with others who share your religion and are interested in perusing a relationship with you. You will find that this is an excellent way to begin dating, especially since it means that you already have something in common with your date. Having one similar interest will help to create a solid conversation that is understood by both you and your date. Once you have broken the ice, you should be able to feel more at ease with one another, so you can begin exploring new topics that are of interest to the both of you. Another advantage that you have when dating another person from your religion is that you can: Attend Celebrations/Ceremonies Together Since you share the same or similar religious background as your date, you may be interested in attending prayer services or other religious outings, and share in the traditions together. Become a Member of Any Clubs or Groups - if your religious community has any activities or meetings, it might be a good idea for you and your date to attend and become involved in something that may not only bring you closer physically, but also spiritually. On the other side of the coin, dating someone who is of a different religious background as you can also be quite the adventure. Although highly frowned upon in the past, more than ever, especially in the Western culture, people of different religions are dating and even marrying. Naturally, not everyone agrees with these proceedings, but when it comes to love, the only opinions that should matter is yours and your partner's. Therefore, regardless of whom you date, and what religion they follow, you can still keep up with the value and traditions that matter to you. If you and your date were meant to be, he or she will recognize what is important to you, as you should them. After all, although religions differ in beliefs and many other traditions, they all teach the importance and value of love.

    Religious practices

This article describes the services of the world’s major religions which are (in no particular order): Christianity Buddhism Hinduism Islam Sikhism Christianity The most common way in which Christians worship is by the taking of bread and wine. This is known as several names, Mass, Eucharist and Holy Communion. It usually takes place in a church. The purpose of the taking of bread and wine is to remember how Jesus ate the Last Supper with his disciples. The bread and wine is blessed before being taken by the congregation. The service is usually accompanied by the singing of hymns and readings from the Bible. A collection is held for the congregation to donate towards the upkeep of the church Buddhism Bhuddhists may be split into two distict group, Theravada Buddhists and Mahayana Buddhists. Theravada Buddhists originate from India, Sri Lanka, Myananar and Thailand. They traditionally worship in a temple where incense is burned and paper lanterns are lit. While worshipping they offer gifts to the Three Jewels, which are the Buddha, the Dharma (the teachings) and the sanha (the monks). Flowers, incense sticks and small statues are traditionally offered as gifts and bells are rung during this gift-making. The Mahayana Buddhists originate from China and Tibet and worship in pagoda styles buildings. These temples contain a set of prayer wheels, cylinders with prayers inscribe don them. Turning the wheels is believed to carry the prayers to all parts of the world. Many Mahayana Bhuddhists go to the temple to ask questions about the future. They do this by throwing two pieces of red wood onto the ground. Depending on how the pieces of wood land, the person takes a piece of paper or wood from a drawer and hands it to a priest who informs them of the answer. Hinduism The most important place of worship for a Hindu is his home where they will have a room or a corner of a room dedicated for worship. Traditionally they will place pictures or statues of their favourite gods or goddesses. Carrying out the morning worship is the responsibility of the woman of the household. After praying she will offer flowers, incense, light and food to the gods. She will also dress a statue. This food is then eaten by the family. In the evening the light is lit and the whole family gathers to pray. Hindus also worship in temples. These temples house statues that are dressed in different clothes for every day if the year. Food and flowers are offered an dincense burned while the priests chant. Food is given to the worshippers as they leave the temple. The service is made up of three parts, the kindling of the fire, the worship of the eight and the singing of the bhajans. The priest lights a sacred fire and sections of the Vedas are chanted. Then the arti tray is placed in front of the gods. A spot of red paste is then placed on the foreheads of the statues, on the pictures and on the worshippers whilst the arti tray is carried around the people. They hold their hands over the fire and then pass their hands over their foreheads and hair. Food is then given to the worshippers and hymns sung. Islam Muslims worship in a mosque. In Muslim countries these are usually square buildings with a dome on top. Water is provided outside the mosque for worshippers to wash before praying. The mosque will have one or more tall towers known as minarets from which the muezzin will call the people to pray. All Muslims must pray to God (Allah) five times a day, having washed. This is to ensure they are clean and pure for prayer. Having washed, the worshippers face in the direction of the Kabba in Mecca. This is a shrine in the city of Mecca that contains a holy Black Stone. Muslims pray in a variety of positions, standing, kneeling and touching the ground with their foreheads, using a prayer mat to ensure that the place of prayer is clean and to keep the body clean while praying. All Muslim men are expected to go to the mosque for midday prayers on Friday, where the Iman delivers his sermon. This is given in two parts, firstly he deals with matters of everyday life and secondly then discusses a passage from the Qur’an. Sikhism Sikhs worship in a temple called a gurdwara. In the centre of the gurdwara is a throne known as a takht which is covered with a canopy. The Sikh holy book, the Guru Granth Sahib is placed on this throne. On entering the gurdwara the worshippers remove their shoes. They then place money, food or a romalla (a cloth to cover the Guru Granth Sahib) in front of the takht. The men wear turbans and the women wear silk scarves while worshipping cross-legged. Men and women must sit apart. The leader of the worship, the Granthi reads from the Guru Granth Sahib. Hymns are sung and this is followed by a sermon, more singing, readings and prayers. The service is given in Punjabi. At the end of the service everyone shares karah parshad, a mixture of semolina, ghee, sugar and flour to show that they are all equal. The service is completed by a meal provided by the guru, called the langar

Rely on god in overcoming your persistent fears

Dealing with our persistent fears and anxieties can be very difficult. As a result, relying on God can be very effective in managing your persistent fears. With this in mind, here are some suggestions on how a person should rely on God in his or her own struggles. God is stronger than your fears and anxieties. A person does not have to be religious to use the power of God. When the going gets tough, talk to God about your problems as if you were talking to a friend. Be persistent and be open in the avenues that God may provide to you in solving your problem. It is not always easy, however God is in control and he will help you if you ask him. Repercussion of faith

Long considered as the bastion of feudalism, Catholicism and religion always seem to be untouchable. It was often dangerous to remark something against it because individuals who do so were often declared as heretics. As a result, religion's potential as a social force and power has always been limited to spirituality. Its potential to develop societal beliefs, norms, and influence on political paradigm shifts had been obscured by its more obvious function. But new researches had shown and proven that religion, particularly the dominant Catholicism was a dominant influence in the political movements that shaped the nation. The time of the Inca or the native Indians saw a wide differentiation of faith. There was no Catholicism and religion to speak of. The natives worshipped idols and the elements of nature. It was noted that how they practiced "religion" or faith was also the way they governed their lands. In their faith, there were many idols, each respected and worshipped. It was also the same way with their politics wherein they were governed by a council. Though there was usually a chieftain, he had a council of elders whom he consulted before any decision was made. In effect, there were many leaders. But despite the many leaders, evidences indicated that the natives never fought among themselves. They chose the strongest and wisest warrior to rule their land without any political parties. The decision is made by the council, the chieftain, and the community, in general. The invasion of the colonizers and their own brand of religion brought significant changes in the political nature of the land. Catholicism and religion took hold of the land even with the resistance efforts of the Indians. Suddenly, there was only one God and the idols were banished. Coincidentally, this one-God mania also brought forth a change in the economic and political system of the land. There was only one recognized ruler, and that was the Catholic king. There was also a monopoly of goods in trade. But this Catholicism was obscured by the coming of the Puritans and The Quakers. Over time, America became a state that offered a diversity of religion. Curiously, this diversity of religion mirrored the shifts of political movements and economic trends. As there were many faiths, the country in practicality, was also ruled by federal system and democracy. There was also what was popularly known as the free trade or free market, wherein different individuals started their own trade rather than being apprentices to established companies. Thus, the religious diversity gave rise to capitalism. Possibly and probably, political and economic trends were dictated and determined by the dominant religious practices. It was also probable that the system worked in the opposite, with religious practices ordered by the economic and political atmosphere. But whatever direction this system has pursued, its repercussions were felt and influenced people's lives.

Revival and church growth in southern philippines after ministry of danish evangelist

Revival and church growth in southern Philippines after ministry of Danish evangelist! The Danish Evangelist Peter Haahr Hansen and Gospel Miracle Ministries have recently been preaching in Churches and conducting crusades in Bohol (Southern Philippines). Bohol is an island in the Philippines known for the smallest monkey in the world, river rafting and the Chocolate Hills. It is a perfect tourist spot but there is a lack of gospel preaching because of spiritual strongholds. Peter Haahr Hansen came with messages of hope in Christ. Amazing Grace Church was the first church Peter visited. He did four services for the youth and a healing service where many got prayed for. The first two days were especially for the youth and pastors, where Rev. Peter Haahr Hansen inspired the pastors and youth to change the world by the Power in Christ. There was a great response and many lives were changed. The church was full and people came from far away to participate in the meetings. Hundreds of people came to the meetings and experienced the power and presence of God. On Sunday Peter Haahr Hansen had a healing service and the church was full again and there was a great response to the Gospel message. Evangelist Peter had very clear messages of hope and healing in Christ. Along side the meetings, Gospel Miracle Ministries helped sponsor some food donations for the poor people who came to the meetings. Peter states: “I believe that many got a fresh touch from the Lord through these services. And I hope I inspired the Christians there to be history makers and change the world by the Love of Christ. I truly believe that God will spread a revival among the youth in the Philippines and a new generation of young evangelists and pastors will rise up and change Asia for the Gospel”. Sunday night, Peter and his team preached in a local church called JESUS LIGHT OF THE WORLD lead by Pastor Raul Vitor. It is a small pioneering church preaching the full gospel. Evangelist Peter Haahr Hansen was invited to conduct a healing service. It was a great night where lots of people were touched by the Lord in a powerful way. Peter preached a message of healing in Jesus. The next day Peter and his team went to the inner parts of Bohol up in the mountains. Peter was invited to preach in a small church in the afternoon. Pastors from different churches participated alongside with the members of this church. Peter had a very encouraging message about doing the impossible. In this church Peter’s fiancйe, Abby, also shared a word about how to use ones potential in the word of the Lord. Later in the evening, Peter Haahr Hansen preached at a healing crusade in the village square in the very center of Bohol. It was easy to see that there was a spiritual fight going on. Hundred of people came to the crusade, but many people were also standing outside the gates of the square, maybe afraid of going “inside” the gates. Peter preached about the sacrifice of Jesus and the miracle power of Christ. A lot of people came to receive salvation and healing. There was a great presence of the Holy Spirit and many people received a touch from the Lord. Peter states: “To see so many people hungry for something real was in a way amazing but also sad. It just shows that the work and office of an evangelist is not over. There is a need to be met. My prayer is that more and more people will support the office of an evangelist. There is a great need that we cannot ignore”. After the ministry in Bohol, Gospel Miracle Ministries received reports that a lot of people received physical, emotional, and spiritual healing and that a marked church growth is happening after the revival meetings. Praise be to God! gospelmiracle. org peterhaahr Ministry Pictures: peterhaahr/pictures. html

Romans 1 20 clear support for an old earth

One of the often-quoted verses about creation is Romans 1:20. This verse is presented below in three translations. KJV – For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse. NASB – For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. AMPLIFIED – For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity have been made intelligible and clearly discernable in and through the things that have been made—His handiworks. So [men] are without excuse—altogether without any defense or justification; This verse is used to show how a loving God can hold innocent, uninformed people accountable. What does this verse have to do with the creation debate? Henry Morris, in his book Biblical Creationism, states of verse 20, “The basic laws controlling all the processes through which they interact (that is, the laws of energy and entropy” demonstrate the necessary fact of their primeval supernatural creation by God’s “eternal power.”” Later in the same paragraph, he explains the relation of space and time to demonstrate the analogy to the triune Godhead. All this is clearly perceived in the creation. Thus, young earth creationists agree that the laws of science are clearly perceived in the creation.1 Then why do they reject these laws? Yes, the truths of creation are crystal clear to old earth creationists, but clear as mud to young earth creationists. Why do I say this? When old earth creationists examine the universe and our world, the evidence is clearly billions of years old. However, when young earth creationists examine it, they have to twist and contort the data to make it fit their model of a 6,000 year old earth. They reject the principles of Romans 1:20. Consider radiometric dating. The scientific principles behind radiometric dating are clearly understood. Radiometric dating is accepted by all scientists as presenting reliable dates for the age of the earth. For a scientist who accepts radiometric dating, Romans 1:20 works perfectly…it is clear that a simple reading of the evidence supports billions of years. God’s creation gives an easy to read testimony to its age. However, young earth creationists have a huge problem with radiometric dating, so much so that they created a committee to study the problem and come up with a solution. The RATE Group, or Radioisotopes and the Age of the Earth, was set up in 1998 to study how the data can be interpreted to give support to their claim that the earth is only 6,000 years old.2 Why do they need a committee (that so far has lasted for six years) to interpret the data, when God said that these things are “clearly understood?” For the RATE Group, and young earth creationists, Romans 1:20 does not work. The verse says that the testimony to his eternal power is clearly discernable through the creation, yet the RATE Group was set up to do a multi-year study of how radiometric dates can be in error. For young earth creationism, the age of the earth is not “clearly discernable” in the creation…they have to study ways to twist the scientific facts to fit their theory of a young earth. That’s not what Romans 1:20 says! The same thing is true of many of the issues in science. Many areas of scientific facts (facts, not theories), such as the principles of Geology, which we can see operating in today’s world, should be “clearly discernable” in the creation. Again, it is clear that these geologic processes give overwhelming evidence for an old earth. However, look at the efforts expended by young earth creationists to try and offer an alternative explanation to these processes. They take these “clear” processes and twist them until they support their view of a young earth. This violates Romans 1:20…no twisting or manipulating of the data is required to support an old earth. God said these things are clearly understood. In other words “What you see is what you get.” Yes, the earth is old! Conclusion When scientists look at the world and our universe, it is obvious to them that it is billions of years old. Using Romans 1:20, the obvious, clearly perceived facts from the creation must be the truth. The fact that young earth creationists have to form a committee for six years to argue against a scientific principle, is evidence in and of itself that the earth is old. When Christians complain and argue that the earth is young, the world, and in particular, scientists, view us as uneducated radical extremists who twist the facts of science to their own conclusions. Scientists are not evil, anti-Christians trying to bury God…they are merely reporting what they see. According to Romans 1:20…they are right! In essence, young earth creationists have rejected the truth of Romans 1:20. --- 1 Biblical Creationism: What Each Book of the Bible Teaches About Creation and the Flood, Henry Morris. Rosh hashanah and how to celebrate the jewish new year

Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year and is considered to be one of the most important Jewish holidays. All over the world Jewish followers celebrate Rosh Hashanah. They do this by gathering in synagogues for the celebration of the creation of Adam and Khavah (Eve), which they believe were the first humans here on Earth. The celebration of Rosh Hashanah is celebrated with many sweet foods, like honey cakes and apples dipped in honey. Jews do this in hopes that it will bring a “sweet year”. Other symbolic foods that are often found on Rosh Hashanah are pomegranates, carrots and the head of a fish. A. The head of a fish symbolizes being on the top instead of on the bottom. B. Pomegranates symbolize plenty, due to the incredible amount of seeds that are found inside. C. Carrots symbolize two very different things: 1. For Ashkenazi Jews, carrots symbolize the Jewish word “merren”. Merren means more. For the New Year, Jews eat carrots in hopes of more of the good things that can be found in life: more health, more happiness, and more success. 2. For Sephardic Jews, carrots symbolize the phrase “Yikaretu Oyveychem”. This means “may your enemies be cut down”. These Jews wish that those who are not friendly towards them do not succeed and get their wish. D. Challot, which is made with honey and raisins, is another sweet treat on the holiday. Again, it symbolizes a happy and sweet year. Decorations on the Challot, like birds, can represent doves of peace. Rosh Hashanah lasts for two days, beginning on the first day of Tishrei. It is also the beginning of the ten days of atonement called Yamim Noraim, which ends on Yom Kippur. Jews believe that on Rosh Hashanah, mankind is judged. However, the judgment at that time can be changed. In the days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, Jews can repent, ask for atonement, and make up for their sins, which can change the Rosh Hashanah judgment. Only after the holiday Yom Kippur has ended has the judgment been finalized.
