White water river rafting for beginners

White water river rafting is both adventurous and dangerous at the same time; it is easy to see why some get addicted to it however it offers both great whole body exercise as well as an outdoor experience. Rafting Facts for Beginners First and foremost, know that you will get wet no matter what you do so be prepared. It is a very fast moving sport, which leaves you with little time to think about what you need to do next so listen carefully to the more experienced rafters with you. Wear the required gear with no exceptions, as there is a good possibility that you will be thrown out of the raft and can easily get hurt on rocks or other things found in the river. Helmet is a must at all times for beginners or professionals. Life jacket is part of the gear without which no rafting expedition should take place; even the most experienced rafters have had difficulties with river torrents once thrown in the water. Rescue Mission for Rafting Beginners White water river rafting can at times get very adventurous and have one of the team members or all thrown over board at which time presence of mind and common sense is required to quickly rescue and recover the raft, whichever the case may be. In case one of the team members in the raft is thrown in the water, here are a few easy steps to follow to assist with the rescue mission: Do not panic, that will lead to making a wrong move thus risking everyone’s life in the raft. Reach out if the fallen person is within reach and pull them up to the boat with both arms. If the person in the water is too far away, reach them with the paddle. Extend the handle towards the person in the water and hold strong on the other side. Every raft meant for white water river rafting is equipped with a rope bag, which is to be used when a fellow raft member falls overboard and is too far to reach with the paddle. A very important rule is never ever to stand up in a raft as the high river torrents will overturn it in a split second and all of you will then need assistance. The Thrill of the Game White water river rafting is dangerous but very addictive; the fact that you need to be always careful and still get to enjoy the nature at the same time makes it one of the best summer sports. Follow the rules, use common sense and go with the flow, you will soon come back for more white water river rafting no matter how hard the first ride was.

Whitewater kayak sport basics for excitement

Going on a whitewater kayak adventure can be fun, exciting, and exhilarating; however there are a few basics which you should acknowledge yourself with before even considering going on this sort of outing. For one, the whitewater kayak sport is incredibly gear intensive. Although you don’t have to be in excellent physical shape to whitewater kayak, you should have adequate upper arm and shoulder strength, so that you can use the paddles or oars properly, and have enough strength to take care of yourself in the rapids in the event of an emergency. You should also be able to hold your breath for a relatively substantial amount of time, in case your whitewater kayak were to tip, and you also may want to simply tone up a bit so that your muscles are that much more ready for such a physical activity. Gearing Up To Go Whitewater Kayaking The basic equipment that you will need for your whitewater kayak trip is as follows: boat, paddle, sprayskirt, helmet, and lifejacket. There are of course other accessories which you can include, but these are the must-haves, the essentials. Signing up and attending even a few lessons before actually going on your whitewater kayaking trip is a good idea, so that you can actually have fun on the trip because you will know what you are doing. Through training you will learn such things as bracing, rolling, and most important, wet exiting. You will also learn such techniques as eddy turns, peel outs, ferrying, and surfing. Buying A Kayak Although you can rent a kayak at most outfitters, or the kayak use itself may even come included with your kayaking trip package, if you are planning on purchasing your own kayak, there a few important things to know. There are several different types of kayaks: recreational kayaks, touring kayaks, whitewater kayaks, and downriver kayaks. Recreational kayaks are those which are all-around boats that are designed for mild river trips. Touring kayaks are ones which are designed for extended wilderness trips and are very stable and have good carrying capacity. Whitewater kayaks are designed with exceptional maneuverability in mind in order to be able to properly negotiate rapids. They are shorter and usually have more rounded bottoms. Finally, downriver kayaks are those which are specialty boats that are designed to travel quickly through the water, and are usually very long and narrow, while their straight keel allows them to track efficiently, but they are difficult to turn.

    Whitewater kayaking basics

For many, whitewater kayaking is a fun, adventurous, and often adrenaline filled experience. whitewater rafting is usually done on a river in a kayak which is made of durable, tough plastic that is able to flex a little as it moves down the river. Kayaks can be anywhere from about 6 feet long to 12 feet or longer. For beginners, tamer sections of a river are much better to learn in. the more extreme and advanced kayaking enthusiasts sometimes can end up looking like they are insane, especially if the river is particularly harsh. Types Of Whitewater Kayaking There are basically four types of kayaking. The first is generally called river running. This type of whitewater kayaking can be a combination of sight seeing and running down the rapids, or whatever types of challenges the river may offer. These kayaking trips can be one day or several days. Creeking is a much more difficult type of kayaking. This is the type of whitewater kayaking which involves going down difficult parts of the river or rapids. Boats used in this type of kayaking are generally larger with a rounder front and back, which helps the kayak resurface more quickly if it happens to go under. Slalom is another type of whitewater kayaking. This is basically the same as competing in slalom down a hill on skis. The kayaker navigates a section of a river, going in and out of the gates or poles. This involves going downstream through some gates and upstream through others. Interestingly, this is the only type of kayaking that is seen in the Olympics. The most unique form of whitewater kayaking is called playboating or freestyle. Instead of going upstream or downstream, the kayaker generally stays in one area of the river performing different maneuvers, which can include spinning, cartwheels and other aerial feats. Sometimes you will hear this version of kayaking called whitewater rodeo in America. Whichever version of kayaking interests you the most, there is one main requirement: you have to have a river to go whitewater kayaking. You can generally rent all of the other equipment once you arrive at the river, but it will take some investigating to find a river suitable for whitewater kayaking near you. Whitewater kayaking can be a thrilling an interesting sport to compete in. Of course, you have to have a certain love of the water since you will be immersed in it quite often if you are going to go whitewater kayaking.

The beautifully diverse state of Wisconsin is crossed with beautiful and scenic rivers frequented by both kayakers and canoeists, as well as those enjoying a day of tubing, rafting, or just relaxing on the river. With more than 40 rivers for kayaking and canoeing, it is no wonder the whitewater kayaking in Wisconsin is some of the best in the nation. The Erickson Road to Saxon Falls Dam section of the Montreal River is a relaxing 16.7 mile paddle with class I and II rapids, perfect for beginners or to warm up for the highly difficult western fork of the river. The challenging western branch of the Montreal River features class II through V rapids and several waterfalls for an ultimate whitewater kayaking experience. Accommodations can be found at several nearby hotels and campgrounds. The water gates at the area dams can create very low water levels at times, so it is recommended to check on gate openings before planning your whitewater kayaking trip. If the water is too low, the Montreal River is practically impassable. You can also enjoy hiking to Wisconsin’s beautiful waterfalls or whitewater kayaking on the other numerous rivers nearby. There are plenty of majestic rivers that offer outstanding whitewater kayaking in Wisconsin, from a refreshing paddle down the east fork of the Chippewa River to the heart-stopping rapids of the Potato River. Several of Wisconsin’s whitewater rivers are perfect for multiple day kayak trips. Plan ahead and make the necessary preparations for overnight camping along the river and remember a durable, lightweight camping tent like the Coleman Exponent Krypton 2 that comfortably sleeps two and weighs less than 8 pounds.

Whitewater rafting river rough water ahead

Whitewater rafting can be a very dangerous activity. That’s because the water is very rough. A whitewater rafting river is rough and is often riddled with rocks and rough terrain. For this reason, you should always follow the correct precautions while on a whitewater rafting river and always use the proper protective equipment. When choosing a whitewater rafting river, you want to choose one in which the water flows very rapidly. The term whitewater comes from the way the water rushes past rocks and other terrain, which turns the water white. When the water’s white on the whitewater rafting river, you know you’ve picked a good spot. Rafting Tours There are several companies that offer whitewater rafting tours for a small fee. They will show you exactly where to go and will show you the best whitewater rafting river for you and your skill level. You’ll want to stay away from the particularly rough rivers at first. Then, as you gain more experience, you can move up to the especially tumultuous ones. Use The Proper Precautions Make sure you always wear a life jacket since rafting on a whitewater rafting river will inevitably send you into the water quite a few times. Since the water is so rough, the small raft gets tossed around quite a bit. And, since you are in the raft, you are bound to be tossed around as well. This makes it especially important to wear the proper protective gear while on the whitewater rafting river. It is also a good idea to have a first aid kit handy while on the whitewater rafting river. You should also choose a first aid kit that floats. Since a whitewater rafting river is riddled with rocks and other rough terrain, your chances of getting cut on a jagged edge are fairly high. You’ll want to stock your first aid kit with anti-bacterial ointment and bandages so that an infection can’t set in. A whitewater rafting river is a great place to raft but it can be very dangerous. There’s no guarantee that you won’t be tossed out of the raft or injured. You’ll want to wear the proper protective gear, stock a good first aid kit and, most of all, use common sense. Don’t take chances and be extremely careful. After you have taken the proper precautions, then you can go out and have fun. Being on the whitewater rafting river can be very fun, just be safe and use your head.

    Who are the harlem globetrotters

The Harlem Globetrotters are a basketball team that combines athleticism and comedy to create one of the best-known sports entertainment franchises in the world. Created by Abe Saperstein in 1927 in Chicago, Illinois, the team adopted the name Harlem because of its connotations as a leading African-American community. Over the years it has toured over 118 countries, playing more than 20,000 exhibition games, mostly against deliberately ineffective opposition like the Washington Generals (1953–1995) and the New York Nationals (1995–present). There is no clear consensus as to the very beginnings of the Globetrotters. The official history contains several facts which are clearly untrue, such as the team being organized in 1926 in the Savoy Ballroom, which opened in 1927. What is clear is that the genesis of the Globetrotters takes place in the South Side of Chicago in the 1920s, where all the original players grew up. Most, if not all of the original players attended Wendell Phillips High School. When the Savoy Ballroom opened in November of 1927, one of the premier attractions was the Savoy Big Five, a basketball team that played exhibitions before dances. In 1928, several players left the team in a dispute over bringing other players who had left the team back. That fall, several players led by Tommy Brookins formed a team called the "Globe Trotters" which would tour Southern Illinois that winter. A white man named Abe Saperstein became involved with the team, though to exactly what extent is unclear. In any event, by 1929 Saperstein was touring Illinois and Iowa with his basketball team, called the "New York Harlem Globe Trotters". Saperstein decided to pick Harlem as their home city since Harlem was considered the center of African-American culture at the time, and an out of town team name would give the team more of a mystique. After four decades of existence, the Globetrotters played their first "home" game in Harlem in 1968. The first star player of those early Globe Trotters (the name would be merged into one word later on was Albert "Runt" Puller, an adept dribbler and shooter. Soon he would be joined by 6'3" Inman Jackson, who played center and had a flair for showboating. They would originate the two roles that would stay with the 'trotters for decades, the showman and the dribbler. The Globetrotters were initially a serious competitive team, and despite a flair for entertainment, they would only clown for the audience after establishing a safe lead in the game. In 1940, they accepted an invitation to participate in the World Professional Basketball Tournament. Defeating the New York Rens in the semi-finals, they advanced to the championship game, where they beat the Chicago Bruins in overtime by a score of 31-29. The Globetrotters beat the premier professional team, George Mikan and the Minneapolis Lakers, for two games in a row in 1948 and 1949, with the Lakers winning the third contest. The February 1948 win (by a score of 61-59, on a buzzer beater) was a hallmark in professional basketball history, as the all-black Globetrotters proved they were on an equal footing with the all-white Lakers. Momentum for ending the NBA's color line grew, and in 1950, Chuck Cooper became the first black player drafted by an NBA team. From that time on the Globetrotters had increasing difficulty attracting and retaining top talent. The Globetrotters gradually worked comic routines into their act until they became known more for entertainment than sports. The Globetrotters' acts often feature incredible coordination and skillful handling of one or more basketballs, such as passing or juggling balls between players, balancing or spinning balls on their fingertips, and making unusual, difficult shots. Among the players who have been Globetrotters are NBA (National Basketball Association) greats Wilt "The Stilt" Chamberlain, Connie "The Hawk" Hawkins and Nat "Sweetwater" Clifton, as well as Marques Haynes, George "Meadowlark" Lemon, Jerome James, former Temple coach John Chaney, and Reece "Goose" Tatum. Another popular team member in the 1970s and 1980s was Fred "Curly" Neal who was the best dribbler of that era of the team's history and was immediately recognizable due to his shaven head. Baseball Hall of Famers Bob Gibson, Ferguson Jenkins and Lou Brock also played for the team at one time or another. Another famous former player is comedy legend Bill Cosby who had a contract with the Globetrotters when he was younger.[citation needed] In 1985, the Globetrotters signed their first female player, Olympic gold medalist Lynette Woodard, and their second, Joyce Walker, just three weeks later. Because virtually all of its players have been African American, and because of the buffoonery involved in many of the Globetrotters' skits, they drew some criticism in the Civil Rights era. The players were derisively accused of "Tomming for Abe", a reference to Uncle Tom and white owner Abe Saperstein. However, prominent civil rights' activist Jesse Jackson came to their defense by stating, "I think they've been a positive influence. (…) They did not show blacks as stupid. On the contrary, they were shown as superior." During the 1970s and 1980s, the team was controlled by Metromedia and, in addition to their touring and playing the Washington Generals or the New York Nationals, were featured in numerous television series and specials, including appearances in live-action variety shows and several Hanna-Barbera cartoons (see "Media" section below). After a period of decline the Globetrotters franchise was purchased by former team member Mannie Jackson in 1993, and its fortunes revived again. In 2002 the team was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. To try to offset the criticism that they do not play "real basketball", in recent years the Trotters have scheduled games against college teams and pickup teams like Magic Johnson's All Stars with varying results. This renews a tradition of playing NBA teams, which the Globetrotters did during the 1950s. The Harlem Globetrotters visited Pope John Paul II at the Vatican in November of 2000 and named the Pontiff an Honorary Harlem Globetrotter.

Who needs a custom built road bike

Biking is such a popular sport and there are many wide varieties of bikes on the market, in a varied pricing range. But for those serious athletes, the custom-built bike might be the way to go. Ever heard of Randonneuring? Sounds French, doesn't it? Well, the sport originated in France, but is becoming more and more popular in the United States. Randonneuring is "long-distance unsupported endurance cycling." You may have heard of it as "Ultra Long Distance Cycling." The joy of this sport is that it is non-competitive. Riders indulge in friendly camraderie, not trying to drive each other into the ground. And because the rides are "unsupported" - the idea is to be self sufficient. There are many events held for Randonneur riding, but the names of winners are not posted. Rather, the names of the riders who have finished the course are posted in alphabetical order. It's not about beating anyone, it's about challenging yourself. These events consist of rides of 200, 300, 400, 600, and 1000 KM for individual riders. Each of these distances is called a "brevet." There are probably events being held in your area, even if you've never heard of them before. Search the web under "randoneuring" or "ultra long distance cycling" and you'll find any local clubs. Now, it's when road riders want to participate in racers and ultra long distance cycling that they'll want a custom-built road bike rather than one purchased just off the rack. It's not that bikes purchased just off the rack aren't perfectly serviceable for most riders, but serious athletes - professionals, and those just below the professoinal level - will certainly want a custom-built bike - one that is precisely fitted to their body. (Customized bikes, and custom-built bikes, are two different things. Customized bikes swap out various pieces for better fitting pieces, whereas custom-built bikes are built to certain specifications from the ground up.) Triathletes are another group of people who need custom-built bikes. In a triathlon, the participants have to swim, cycle and then run for certain distances. It's an incredibly grueling sport and so the cycle has to be the lightest, the most sturdiest, and the best fitted piece of equipment they have. Many bike companies offer customized road bikes, and while they are expensive, they're not as expensive as they used to be because with new technology always comes lower prices. It's possible to purchase your customized bike from a local dealer, but for a custom-built bike, most likely you'll have to go online. Companies that offer custom-builds include Guru, Waterford, and Titus. Do a search on the web to find them, and they'll tell you all the information you need to know to get a custom-built bike.

Why an early break is so important in golf

Whenever we go to a golf tournament and see a really good player hit the ball, we receive two vivid impressions. The first is how far the ball goes with seemingly so little effort. The second is of a certain measured cadence in the upward and downward movement of the club. Both are accurate impressions. Now if we happen to be on the practice tee, where we can watch this player hit shot after shot, we will notice two other things. One is that he swings all his clubs at about the same speed; he doesn't seem to hit the 3 wood any harder than he hits the 7 iron. The second thing we notice, when we let our gaze wander to other players practicing, is that while most of them are deliberate, there are differences in their swinging speeds. Timing is the answer to the first accomplishment—the long hit with little effort. Rhythm produces the measured cadence in the upward and downward movement of the club. And the differences we notice in swinging speed among other players are differences in tempo. The hands will take over soon enough, as an automatic, reflex action. The problem is to keep them out while still keeping them moving. If we keep them out while our body moves the club from the top, our timing will be far better Yet the ball still flies out much farther than it should, for the effort the player seems to be putting into it. This is very marked in the graceful players of smaller stature, such as Gene Littler, 1961 National Open champion, and Dow Finsterwald, former National PGA champion. Timing The answer to the effort-distance puzzle being timing, just what is timing? For one thing, it is a word that has been used more loosely, perhaps, than any other in golf literature. We have been blandly told that we should work to improve our timing, that our timing is off, that without good timing we cannot hope to play well. But there, having given the word the once-over-lightly treatment, the oracles have left us. They have never adequately explained timing or told us what we should do to improve ours. Our private guess is that they don't know themselves what it is. A dictionary will tell you that timing is: "The regulating of the speed of a motion, stroke, or blow, so that it reaches its maximum at the correct moment." In golf, obviously, this would mean regulating the speed of the club head so as to cause it to reach its maximum as it hits the ball. The key phrase is "regulating of the speed." The better the speed is regulated, the better the timing; the poorer the regulation, the poorer the timing. It is here that at least 95 per cent of all golfers have their worst trouble. They have it because the regulation of the speed depends not on how the club head is manipulated by the hands but on how and when other parts of the swinging system operate: the hips, the shoulders, the arms, the hands. If these move in the right way and in the right order, they will automatically regulate the speed of the club head so that it reaches its maximum as it hits the ball. It is, in effect, a chain reaction of movement, with the club head getting the final effect. The reason the vast majority of golfers have such trouble timing a shot satisfactorily is that, subconsciously or consciously, they try to regulate the speed of the club head directly with their hands, without using the intermediary links of the hips, shoulders, and arms. When they do this they get an early but never very great reaction, in terms of speed, from the club head. This is the old familiar "hitting too soon" or "hitting from the top." When the intermediary links are used and the chain reaction is allowed to take its course, there is a late reaction by the club head, which then accelerates to great speed at impact. There is a common expression to describe the player who uses the chain reaction: "He waits on the club." It may not be grammatical but it is descriptive. What this all comes down to is, the expression of good timing is the late hit. The expression of poor timing is the early hit. We have already, in previous chapters, explained the moves that produce the late hit and the early hit. Here, as we discuss timing, we isolate one key move that leads to good or improved timing. It is this: Let the body not the hands start moving the club on the downswing. Once you can do this you are on the road to vastly better golf. You will have the feeling that you are starting down with arms and club close to the body close to the axis where they should be at this time. So much has been written over the years about the importance of the hands in swinging the club, that many of us are entirely too hand conscious. A standing vote of thanks is due Bill Casper for stating, in a description of his swing as it reached the hitting position: "At this point my body is still swinging the club." Many of us have been sure of that for years, but Casper, to our knowledge, was the first of the top tournament pros with the courage to say it. Nearly all good players will give us impressions of timing and rhythm. The more graceful the player, the more vivid the impression will be. Sam Snead, among the moderns, is the perfect example. Among the giants of the past, Bob Jones's swing was once called the "poetry of motion," and the late Macdonald Smith was probably the most effortless swinger who ever played the game. The players of today swing harder at the ball than did their predecessors, with the result that theirs is more of a hitting than a swinging action.

Why are basics so important in karate

“Do I have to practice this again? I know how to do it already. Why can I not learn the next punch and the next form? Do I still have to do the things that WHITE BELTS do?!?” Have you ever felt agitated with your instructor for having you drill basics when you already “know” them? You are not alone. “Basics again?” is a common question asked by karate students. In fact, you could probably handle some of the more advanced techniques but slow down “grasshopper”; your sensei has good reasons for drilling on basics. After all, who doesn’t remember the classic scene in the movie The Karate Kid where Mr. Miyagi has Daniel-san “wax on and wax off” for hours on end to the point of frustration? Daniel-san is made to polish cars and paint fences until he cannot take it any more. At this point Mr. Miyagi steps in to ‘enlightens’ Daniel-san as to the value of what the young apprentice has just been practicing. Suddenly Daniel-san understands the value of basic training and fundamentals! Think about building a house. If we had all four walls already measured out and put together and we rested one wall against the other securing each in place we could make other people think that our house was secure. Until the first strong wind came! Suddenly the house is blown down and nothing is left. What do we do? We leave and move somewhere else and try to rebuild. This whole scenario is much like the Karate student who neglects basics and thinks they know it all. They stay with one club for a while and then they move on to another club, looking for the latest "silver bullet" technique. So what should we do with our house? First, it is essential to lay the foundations; then build the walls, add the roof, paint it, furnish it, make the outside look good and then live in it. Sometimes we live in our house before any of the inside and outside necessities are done! In the same way karate practice must begin with basics. With basics, we lay the foundations of our practice. Through consistent practice and hard work, we add the roof so that we have a more sturdy structure for our house (our karate). Then we paint the house and furnish it (we make our karate look good). Then we make the outside of the house look good (we further polish our Karate and iron out the inevitable kinks). Finally, we live in our house and begin to appreciate its beauty and its value in our lives (now we are able to enjoy and apply our knowledge that we have gained through our training). Hopefully we live in our house for a long time and we gradually feel more and more “at home” and more and more comfortable with our surroundings (now we are beginning to have a deeper understanding of karate and its application to our lives). I hope that you live in your house for many years to come, or if you move, I hope that you appreciate the time and effort it takes to build a house. Building your karate is the same! It takes a lot of time and a lot of effort and a lot of practice of basics to make it strong! Why are nfl players so well paid

NFL players make more money per game than most people who work very hard make in a year. They make so much money that they will never have to worry about debt, being unable to pay their bills, or missing out on doing or getting anything that they desire because of money. They can buy houses with 30 bedrooms, 5 cars, travel the world—whatever they could possibly need or want. They do all of those things, too. Live in plush, luxury homes, with maids and drive Porches, unless they have their driver chauffeur them in a limo. They make more money than any renowned surgeon in the world. Are these NFL players overpaid or do they earn the megabucks that they’re paid? Different people would answer this question differently. Some would argue that NFL players definitely earn their money. They must be disciplined at all times, and keep their bodies in the finest condition. They then get out there on the football field and literally risk their health by playing such a potentially dangerous sport. Many NFL players have incurred serious, lifetime injuries during the rough sport of professional football. Many have had to have major surgeries, go to rehab, or even quit their careers much earlier than expected due to injuries received while playing. They may also argue that the pro ball players are constantly under immense amounts of pressure to perform optimally, even if they aren’t up to it. What if they had a bad day, have the flu or are going through a personal crisis, such as a death of a friend or loved one, or even a divorce. That doesn’t matter in the NFL. It’s not that people are insensitive to the players and their personal problems, but that’s just how it is in professional football. They are paid to perform to the best of their ability at all times, and if they don’t, then they will be told to sit on the bench while they watch their team members play. This wouldn’t be very good for an NFL player’s career, to be benched for not playing optimally. Other people would argue that professional football players are definitely overpaid. Some would even say that players should be paid according to how they perform. If they don’t play to their potential, then they shouldn’t get paid what other players get paid who play optimally all the time. It really doesn’t matter what other people think, though, because NFL players will continue to make the millions of dollars that they do, no matter how they play.

Why children should undertake strength training

Children from 6 years old and above can benefit from doing light strength and weight training. The majority of parents however are cynical as to how healthy it is for children to do strength training, the fact is though, that children who start strength training early do not suffer from the common myth of stunted growth. Children who take up strength training have few if any disadvantages and it is a positive step for most children. As it will encourage your child to be active and learn the importance of exercise. You can also use it for extra family time and it will teach your child healthy habits for life. Don't Start Them Too Early Your children shouldn't start strength training until they are both emotionally and physically mature enough to deal with it. Generally this is at around age 6 for the majority of children, if in doubt speak to a doctor first. However as the child's parent you will no as well as anyone if your child is ready. They must be able to listen carefully and follow instructions to prevent injury or accidents, but the exercises you do should be fun, easy to do and not to technical or intense. Remember your child is not an adult and their strength training shouldn't be anywhere near as intense or demanding as you might do. It's more important that you use the opportunity to teach your child healthy lifestyle habits than to try to get them to build up muscle. Only once they have gone through puberty, should they think about trying to build up muscle mass. Instead you should aim to improve basic endurance and strength, so that the child feels better and fitter. This is especially important for overweight children who want to participate in sports and get healthy. Here's What You Should Be Doing Ideally you should consult a trainer to help you make proper training routine for your child, but you should just aim to make sure that they work out their whole body at least 3 times a week, remembering to include a proper warm up and cool down. For example you could have them do 20 minutes of cardio, broken into ten minutes of skipping, and ten minutes of running (or playing tag). Once they've done that you could do some strength training exercises without weights, such as a circuit; including press ups, star jumps, sit ups, squats, squat thrusts, burpees and leg raises for example. Once they've built up a basic level of strength and endurance you can start to introduce some light weights exercises. Remember your child is a child and not an adult, so don't push them too hard, you're not aiming for them to bulk up so you should keep the weights light and only slowly increase them over a long period of time. Don't forget to finish with a proper cool down and stretching session. Children are not perfect and they may not always do what you ask, and you may have bad days with them, but remember they are only children; you can always bribe them with healthy treats or bonus pocket money for behaving well. If you decide to take you child to a gym make sure you clear it with them first or find one that caters for children, alternatively join a circuit training class which would be ideal. Strength training can be fun and a great way to spend more quality time with your child so give it a try.
