Spring break what is the best location

Spring break is a fun time of year, greatly enjoyed by the young and the um, younger. It’s a relaxing time spent away from the daily grind of studies and the boredom of sitting in classrooms all day, and is a great way for students of all ages to recharge. For college and university students, spring break is a time to party. It’s a way to let off some steam from the stress of classes, plus it’s just plain fun. Some popular spring break locations include Miami, with its beaches and surfing, and Las Vegas, with many exciting things to see and to do. For the family looking for popular spring break locations, one of the first places that come to mind is Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida, with its ever popular rides and many sights to see. There is also Disneyland in California, as well as the new California Adventures. To be sure to get a nice place to stay and a reasonable flight, book a hotel near your spring break location of choice early. Flights do fluctuate, and you may be able to catch a good deal at a seemingly random time, so don’t despair if you run a bit late firming up your airline reservations. Other spring break locations which might be fun include a trip to the Bahamas, to Hawaii, or maybe even to Alaska. For an educational destination, a trip to New York or Chicago, where there are many art galleries, museums, and cultural events, may be good choices. Great locales abound, and the only difficulty is to choose spring break locations that can be enjoyed for just the few days that a typical school break allows. A spring break location that might work well for your family is a trip to Mexico – warm, sunny, and full of friendly people. The resorts of Mexico are appealing spring break locations because your primary purpose in going there would be to relax. Many travel agencies offer all inclusive packages that include everything from flight and accommodation to meals and beverages. Spring break locations abound for the family that is looking for fun. There are many educational or outdoor adventure based spring break locations you can choose from as well – an outdoor adventure or a trip to go rock climbing or skiing can be a great way to spend time as a family or for a college student to have fun with his or her friends. Regardless of where your final destination is, you can be assured that the break from school and work will be welcome.

    St anton in austria

St Anton in Austria is a world renowned skiing facility, positioned in the belt that is known as Austria's skiing capital. Only 100 miles from Solden, and with Innsbruck and Otztal close by, visiting Austria on a skiing vacation could not get any easier, or more action-packed. The terrain is varied, and offers excellent opportunities for new skiers, experienced skiers and even snowboarding - that is on-the-up in this region. With 2 mountains, and a top of the range ski lift, skiers have no problems getting from A to B on the 30 000 feet slope. With views looking over the snowy hills and farmland, it is no wonder the area is a thriving hub for tourists, from around the world. The terrain is varied, as well as the gradients that offer great opportunities for high speed, high octane acceleration, and lesser gradients that assist the new skiers in homing in their skills, 30 000 feet high in the St Anton mountains. St Anton does not have the tradition or acclaim that its neighbour Solden has managed to gain, however many from around the world still choose St Anton as their preference for an international skiing vacation. The reasons for this are simple - its appeals to a different skiing niche. Whilst Solden has hosted many world renowned skiing occasions, it has became too commercialised for some skiers who claim the facility has became to simple, and almost too forgiving on certain slopes. With 8 runs and rising, St Anton has failed to give into pressure from around the world, for man-made slaloms, and safety alterations on runs. When you are skiing on certain sloped in St Anton, you have to have your wits about you, or something dangerous could easily happen. The facility has also gained much acclaim from adrenaline junkies in the snowboarding field, who rank St Anton as being one of the best facilities in the world. St Anton's rise in snowboarding also came as it followed the new trend of offering night-time, freestyle snowboarding under flood lights and fireworks. This is becoming the new trend in snowboarding, and what better place to do it, than at St Anton. During my trip to St Anton to check-it-out I found that the hotels around the area were brilliant, making it no problem for English speaking holiday makers to enjoy themselves. I stayed at a luxury 5 star hotel that had an indoor heated swimming pool. The swimming pool peaked out onto the top of a snowy mountain as you bathed in 40 degrees water. I would have to say that the general feeling around the area is amazing, as you sense the genuine desire for skiing shared by everyone who goes along and takes part. Before I went I had never been skiing before, and I found the tuition excellent. They had multi-lingual skiing instructors on hand to try and aid any new skiers visiting the slopes. I was also taken to a specific slope that was built for new-starts, which also has an easy access point to a lift - perfect for picking that up as well. The area is amazing to look at, and also offers great entertainment for the non-skier, or skier on a night-off! With clubs, pubs and shops all their to service the slopes, it is no wonder that the skiing facility has three 5 star hotels positioned next to the slopes. With all night entertainment within the hotels, and all-night snowboarding it really is impossible to get a minutes rest in St Anton. Should you visit it is said that the conditions are best around August, however that's in the peak of the skiing season, making it impossible to get moving around the slopes. In order to benefit from the best conditions, whilst the slopes are quieter I would say November is the best time. You are also more likely to get discounts from your travel agent at this time.

Static caravan gas tank covers improve safety

Buying a static caravan on a UK holiday park is now more popular than ever with people in the UK taking more ’eco friendly’ UK short breaks. When using such holiday homes safety is of paramount importance when traveling with your friends and family, especially the LPG gas supply used as fuel for heating, hot water and cooking. Some holiday parks are now converting to ‘central storage’ of LPG gas supply that is linked to all static caravans on the site to improve safety, however most static caravans in the UK still have independent LPG cylinders stored adjacent to the caravan. Many owners consider large red LPG cylinders to me unsightly, often spoiling the view from idyllic holiday locations. Most LPG cylinders have had a very hard life with dents and flaking paint and make even the most recent models of static caravans look unappealing. These cylinders currently have no protection from the elements or from tampering and vandalism. Some owners we have spoken to have tried to ‘’box in’’ these cylinders, however there are many rules and regulations regarding issues such as ventilation and advice should be gained from a Corgi registered engineer before completion. As a result of these issues an innovative UK company has produced the first Gas Cylinder Cover designed for Static Holiday Caravans. This product is designed to keep 2 LPG Cylinders safe and secure whilst using a range of colour options to help owners match with their static caravan. Should this product be a success there will be an instant improvement in the look and feel of many static caravans based on UK holiday parks, especially if supported by the park operators. We could also see an extension in the life of LPG Cylinders, reducing costs and helping the environment.

    Static caravans and ownership

October saw the final results from the annual static caravan ownership survey. This annual survey targets feedback from new static caravan owners who have purchased a holiday home on a UK holiday parks, and is seen by many as the most comprehensive survey of its kind. With the launch of many new ‘’luxury’’ specification caravans the average sales value of static caravan holiday homes continues to increase. New sited static caravan prices now range from Ј15,000 – to well over Ј100,000. Many new owners have reported that Static Holiday Caravan ownership has brought many lifestyle benefits over the past year including; ‘’Encourages more breaks with friends and family’’ ‘’Gets my husband away from the office’’ ‘’No more packing – everything we need is kept in our caravan’’ ‘’Friendship and community with other owners’’ ‘’Children love caravans!!!!’’ The survey results also gives help and support to prospective new owners as they are able to learn from people with real life experience. Suggestions included; ‘’Find the best pitch’’ ‘’Location, Location, Location’’ ‘’Facilities on the park are crucial to owners’’ ‘’Don’t buy more than one and a half hours from your home’’ ‘’Why not buy with friends’’ As with previous years the main negative feedback came from owners who have sold their static caravan a short time after purchase and have been subject to heavy depreciation. Other concerns included damage to van when subletting, high site fees and the inflexibility of some holiday park ownership contracts. A spokesperson advised ‘’Many people enjoy huge lifestyle benefits from static caravan ownership whilst subletting to subsidise the cost of ownership. We urge prospective customer to complete as much research as possible prior to purchase to ensure they make the right long term decision. As with any capital purchase (such as a new car) if you make the wrong choice and wish to sell a short time after purchase, depreciation becomes a major factor’’.

Stay in a hotel where quality matters

An eye for detail and an insistence on quality are two of the main things that distinguish a boutique hotel from any other. There are many characteristics that make up a good boutique hotel; number of rooms, good design and excellent service are among them. Two of the most important are often overlooked though, which is a shame, given the tremendous amount of research, time and energy that goes into providing them: quality and detail. Quality A boutique hotel should be solely concerned with quality in all areas of its operations. From the cleanliness of the rooms to the standard of the food, boutique guests expect more from these hotels than from “regular” hotels and owners have to make sure they exceed these expectations. A constant striving for the very best in everything is one of the things that define this type of accommodation. Examples of places where quality really matters include: Fabrics – curtains, bed linen, furniture coverings, bathrobes, towels and tablecloths must all be of exceptional quality. That’s why many boutique hotels use Frette linens or exotic netting; guests notice the difference. Furnishings – whether they are genuine antique pieces or contemporary designer chic, good furniture stands out from the crowd. Accessories – from candles to lamps; vases to clocks, quality accessories can transform the plainest of rooms. Hoteliers spend a lot of time sourcing exactly the right pieces for their designs. Food – boutique hotels are often as well known for their cuisine as for their rooms. This means that they have to be using the freshest ingredients, preferably locally-grown, farmed or caught. Detail The way the cushions are hand-sewn, the dinner napkins folded, or the breakfast tray laid out in the morning; these are just three of the details that really make the difference between a regular and a boutique hotel. Owners of these small, exclusive hotels make sure that everything has been thought of, so that guests feel truly at home because their every need has already been considered. Even though these hotels are often more informal than larger hotels, don’t let that informality fool you into thinking that they haven’t got every “i” dotted and “t” crossed. An eye for detail and the expertise and creativity to put those details into practice is the mark of an excellent hotelier.

Staying on budget package vacations v independent travel

When you have to travel on a budget, one of the biggest questions is whether it is best to plan each part of your trip independently, making separate airfare and hotel reservations, or to opt for a package deal where everything is included for one price. Unfortunately, there isn’t one east answer to this dilemma, because it depends on where you want to go, and what deals are available at the time. For example, traveling to many to European cities is often less costly to arrange yourself, especially in the off-season, when airlines are running specials on flights to Europe. On the other hand, if you want to travel to an exotic place, like Egypt, Morocco, Kenya, South Africa, or Asia, it is often less expensive and easier when arrange by a package company or travel agent. This is due in part to travel agencies having special deals with the national airlines and resorts of these countries, and they are able to provide substantial discounts in exchange for a steady flow of business. For example, last year I traveled solo to Egypt from New York for a grand total of $1,100, including airfare, an excellent hotel, daily breakfast, airport transfers, and daily sightseeing tours, including guided tours of the pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. This is a far better deal than I could have arranged on my own, since airfare alone would have cost over $700. The secret of this great deal was the relationship of the tour operator with Egypt air and the hotel at which we stayed. There are similarly great deals for many Asian locations, particularly India, China and Taiwan. Make sure to research the availability of these types of package deals when looking to travel abroad on a budget. Solo travelers often have trouble getting the great deals on travel packages, since the required single increase can often make the deal not worth it. Don’t despair; there are great deals out there if package deals are too expensive or aren’t your thing, and it is often a better option, especially if you are traveling alone. One important tip is to find out exactly what is and isn’t included in any package deal that you are considering. Most travel packages include optional excursions, which can add considerable expense, and blow your budget. Try to get a detailed daily schedule to make sure you won’t be on your own if you don’t buy into the options. It’s also a good idea to ask for a list of the optional outings available, including descriptions and costs, so that you can compare what the price would be to what you could arrange on your own. If you are traveling alone, make sure you start planning ahead, especially when it comes to airfare arrangements. The important thing to remember is that there are only a certain number of first come, first serve seats the advertised low fares, and if you wait too long you won’t get the lower rate. It is important to reserve your airfare and your lodging as early as possible to make sure you get the best available prices. In the end, the decision whether to choose a package deal or independent travel an individual decision based on the traveler’s situation. Make sure to carefully compare package prices with those for independently arranging travel to the same destination. And don’t forget to take your own personal travel style into account. Some people are more cut out for a packaged tour, particularly to an new destination, while others prefer the freedom from itineraries that independent travel offers.

Stirling city guide including stirling hotels

Known as the “gateway to the Highlands,” Stirling is Scotland’s youngest city, yet also steeped in some of the country’s most colourful and glorious history. Situated on the River Forth, 40 minutes from Glasgow and 50 minutes from Edinburgh, the city enjoys breathtaking views of the Highlands, Loch Katrine, the inspiration for William Blake’s The Lady of the Lake, Campsie Fells, and the Highlands’ largest loch, Loch Lomond. Stirling offers a wide range of places of historical interest, activities, and great shopping and dining, which attracts over one million visitors a year. Places of interest: Stirling is home to the magnificent Stirling Castle, where ruling Scottish monarchs resided for over three centuries. King Kenneth McAlpine battled and conquered the tribe of the Picts in 843 to form the Kingdom of Scotland within sight of the Castle, and over one thousand years later, William Wallace triumphed over King Edward’s army at Stirling Bridge in order to gain freedom from the tyrannous English for the Kingdom. The battlefield of Bannockburn, where Robert the Bruce defeated the English in 1314 to be crowned King of Scotland is nearby, and the creative, optimistic, and possibly occasionally foolhardy, nature of the Scottish people is captured in John Damian’s 1507 attempt to fly from the battlements of Stirling Castle, with wings made from hen’s feathers! Open year round, the National Wallace Monument stands 220 feet above Abbey Craig, as testament to and in honour of the life and achievements of one of Scotland’s greatest heros, William Wallace. The monument offers a living history introduction to Wallace’s life, bloody and glorious campaign for Scottish freedom, betrayal, trial, and gory death. Since 1874, the Smith Art Gallery and Museum has housed history, archaeological and fine art collections that celebrate Scottish history and achievements. Bannockburn Heritage Centre is the site of one of the most important events in Scottish history. The Centre presents a vivid retelling of the 1314 battle in which King Robert Bruce defeated the army of King Edward II, securing freedom for the Scots. No visit to Stirling would be complete without experiencing Stirling Castle. Built on volcanic rock, the site of the castle had been inhabited by Picts, Romans and Scottish monarch among others, for over eight thousand years. The prehistoric castle has been rumoured to be the setting of the legend of King Arthu’s Camelot, and features tours, exhibitions and living history performances that offer fascinating insight into the lively history of the castle and grounds. The Church of the Holy Rude is said to be the only church still in use that has witnessed a coronation. Things to do: There are loads of things to do while in Stirling. Stonehenge sunrise

Amid the enigma and bewilderment that enshrouds a small part of Salisbury in England’s green and pleasant land, I stood in awe to witness one of the great wonders of the world. Before me stood five thousand years of history, a mystery dating back to the ancient Druids and cultures long since lost to the passages of time. Silhouetted against the pre-dawn sky, Stonehenge stood proud in the gloom, its pillars united as one structure, forged from the hand of man five millennia ago. If only it could speak and expose its inner secrets, tell us tales of joy and sorrow, heroes and villains. But for now it just sat and waited for the dawn of a new day, a new experience to add to the catalogues of history. And then the sun peered its head above the horizon and the sky became a blend of reds, oranges and yellows. From the darkness came shadows cast from the giant stone sentinels racing away across the grassy fields. Suddenly the countryside was alive, awakened from its slumber and welcoming the early morning sun. Daybreak was greeted by birds, dancing from stone to stone, playing atop this formation which dominates the local landscape. The silence was broken from birdsong emanating from all around the stone circle, each nook and cranny a hideout for the little fellows. First light was accompanied by a cool gentle breeze drifting sedately across the land bringing a chill to the skin. But the greatest sensation was a feeling of solitude, an overwhelming sense of loneliness as the stones sat here long after their makers and intended ceremonies. Stonehenge has seen a lot during a long and turbulent British history. It must have been fascinating to have been an innocent bystander and witnessed the rise and fall of the Roman Empire. But for now Stonehenge sits in a quite corner of England, greeting the dawn of a new day.

Stu unger rise and fall of a poker genius

Stu Unger is one of the biggest superstars to have immerged from the professional poker world. Besides being a true poker genius and a three time World Series of Poker champion, Stu Unger had a fascinating life story. It was not surprising that after his death Stu was the subject of a biography and a biopic. Stu Unger lived the life of a rock star including the quick rise to fame, the drugs, the comeback and the unavoidable death at an early age. Here you can read about the life story of the legendary poker player Stu Unger. The Beginning Stuart Errol Ungar was born in 1953 to a Jewish family who lived in Manhattan on the Lower East Side. Stus father was a well known bookmaker and his mother was too ill to fight against her sons fascination with gambling. After the death of his father, 13 years old Stu had found a father figure at his neighbor Victor Romano, one of the infamous Genovese family soldiers. Stu and Romano had at least one thing in common: they both had an incredibly sharp memory, which was mainly used in poker and gin games. By that time, Stu was already an accomplished gin player who had gained vast experience in winning gin tournaments. Stu dropped out of school to become a full time gin rummy player. The Genovese family had benefited from Stus talent. In return, they provided him protection from other gamblers who found themselves offended by his harsh and arrogant playing style. The Rise As a professional gin player, Stu had managed to beat all the professional gin poker players around. According to the rumors, Stu caused Harry Yonkie Stein, one of the best players around to stop playing gin completely after beating him in a gin match. Since he was out of proper competition, Stu decided to focus on playing poker professionally. In 1976, he and his girlfriend relocated to Las Vegas where they got married and had a girl, Stephanie. In 1980, Stu won the World Series of Poker Main Event after beating experienced poker pros such as Doyle Bronson. Stu was the youngest WSOP champion in history and was nicknamed The Kid. Even though Stu won the 1981 WSOP Main Event, he still considered himself more a gin and rummy player than a poker player. After winning his first WSOP championship title, he was quoted saying that the poker world would meet better no limit players than him, but no one will ever be able to play gin rummy better than he does. At the same time, Stu had tried to use his skill to grab money at the blackjack table. Nevertheless, the casinos were not happy with Stus presence around the blackjack tables and he was constantly barred. In 1982, he was fined by the New Jersey Gaming Commission for cheating, although Stu has not done anything illegal but using his natural skill and phenomenal memory. The Fall In 1990, Stu made another appearance to the WSOP. This time, he was heavily into drugs. He was a chip leader for the first three days of the event and then disappeared. He was found lying at his hotel room, unconscious from a drug overdose. However, it did not stop him from finishing ninth and earning enough money for his future cocaine supply. The Comeback After seven years of disappearing from the professional poker circle, Stu had returned to the WSOP. In 1997, he was broke, with damaged nostrils from cocaine abuse, addicted to horseracing and sports gambling, but still in shape to beat all the new contestants and gain back his WSOP Championship title. The local media was happy to embrace The Comeback Kid, but his success did not last long. The Death Stu Unger did not attend the 1998 World Series of Poker since he could not get the money to pay the entry fee. Seven months after Scotty Nguyen won the 1998 WSOP, Stu Ungar was found dead at his motel room in Las Vegas with 800 dollars in his pocket. Apparently, he died of a heart condition caused by years of drug abuse. The Biography Read: One of a Kind: The Rise and Fall of Stuey The Kid Ungar, The Worlds Greatest Poker Player written by Nolan Dalla, Peter Alson, Mike Sexton. Watch: High Roller: The Stu Ungar Story directed by A. W. Vidmer and starring Michael Imperioli, Christopher Moltisanti of The Sopranos, as Stu Unger
