What car finance deal should you choose

Financing the purchase of your car can be difficult. Recent research has highlighted the fact that most consumers have decided how to pay for their vehicle even before visiting a forecourt. Reasons for this include high interest rate charges and the motor trade’s poor reputation. Showroom finance is often not considered as an option, with high street and online lenders greatly preferred, perhaps not surprising considering that they do traditionally provide better car finance deals. There are six main ways in which a new car can be financed. The first is a credit card. However, high interest rates mean that this should only be used as a short-term measure, possibly to pay a deposit. One of the most popular ways of paying for a car is through a personal loan. This simply involves taking out a loan with a bank or other financial institution, and can often be arranged over the phone. Interest rates are competitive and you can pay for the whole cost of your car. Alternatively you could deal with your existing lender if you have a mortgage. Money can be borrowed from a mortgage provider, either by getting a second mortgage or withdrawing equity from your house. The advantage of this is that you can deal with your existing lender and interest rates are very low. However, mortgage loans are over a longer period and a penalty may be imposed if you decide to repay the loan early. Personal loans, mortgage top-ups and credit cards are the three most popular and well-known methods of paying for a new car. However, three additional options are available which may suit certain people. The first is Hire-Purchase or Conditional Sale, whereby you discuss and agree with the dealer how much you need to borrow. The dealer then gets in contact with the Motor Finance Company and pays for the car on your behalf. You then agree to make monthly payments to the dealer, with the car only owned by yourself once the car has been fully paid for. Low interest rates, deposits and flexible payment terms are associated with this form of payment. If the car you wish to buy is slightly out of your price range you may want to consider a Personal Contract Purchase. In this option you defer part of the cost of the car until the end of the payment agreement, at which point you can decide to trade-in the car, hand it back to the dealer, or pay the outstanding amount and keep the car. This is an excellent way of being able to afford a car which would otherwise be too expensive. The final option for financing a car is simply to rent it, known as Personal Leasing or Personal Contract Hire. In this case you agree to rent the car from the dealer for a fixed period of time, which includes all maintenance costs. This is an excellent choice if you only require a car for a set period of time, such as 6 months. It eliminates the hassle of buying a selling a car and is simply fixed cost motoring. To decide exactly what car finance deal you should choose you can fill out a questionnaire on financingyourcar. org. uk – it’ll then recommend the type of finance deal that will suit you best, potentially saving you hundreds of pounds.

    What car suits your personality

There are many factors that affect the demand for automobiles in the industrialized countries. The research on travel demand and transportation shows that the demand for automobiles rises with income. Many non-economical factors also affect the demand of automobiles. Automotive demographics show that the demand of automobiles also varies with age and gender of the user. Interestingly, women with low income generally travel less than men, middle aged people and people with higher incomes. The household characteristics such as family size, family type, age of the house holder and marital status are also important automotive demographic variables that explain the variation in travel demand. Automotive secret shoppers provide an invaluable performance measurement tool that is sought after by many of the top automotive organizations. Successful secret shopping in the automotive marketplace demands a detailed knowledge of the industry. So, agencies either employ experienced shoppers or train new recruits for the automotive industry. As a result several customer service and customer experience programs in new and used vehicle sales, service and parts for a variety of automotive industry clients have been developed. As per the demands of a particular company appropriate programs are chosen and tailored to fit. Automotive secret shoppers give feedback about what kind of information is revealed during a used car sales pitch. Though withholding negative information from a client is not ethically right, it needs to be couched in euphemisms and delivered in a convincing manner. It is up to the customer to decide for or against the vehicle. When car dealers are interested in attracting visitors to their websites, they have a great variety of means at their disposal. A good ranking made by a search engine will definitely come with an increased number of visitors, but another problem still remains. How do you retain those visitors and turn them into potential customers? Automotive reviews are the answer. Good automotive reviews offer the right information that the visitors require. A first step, which is very important, is that the potential customers will spend quite some time reading the automotive review posted on the website. The purchase of a car is an important step and deciding upon a certain car model may prove to be a complex and painstaking process. Regardless of their financial possibilities, all the potential buyers feel the need to be well informed before they move on to the next step, that of actually paying for the car and driving it home. When researching, customers will find it useful to have access to independent automotive reviews, which will guarantee that their best interest as consumers comes first. The right information offered by independent automotive reviews can turn a visitor into a customer very quickly, and this is what car dealers have to take advantage of. An automotive blog is not just a reliable source of information, but is also available at any hour, since the internet has no limitations whatsoever. An automotive blog will provide visitors with all sorts of information, such as tips for buying cars, maintenance, car repair and safety, environmental issues, and so forth. Some other car-related aspects may constitute the reason why people affiliate to an automotive blog. These aspects may refer to aesthetics, utility or power.

    What defines a classic car

There is a niche market out there for classic car models. These are older models no longer being built by the manufacturer, kept to the original factory statistics, and maintained to be at least in working order. While not suited for regular driving, a classic car has a value that transcends the utility of driving. These models are rare finds and while their financial value may fluctuate in the intervening years, these cars are still beloved by the people who own them because of the nostalgic air that they have, that unmistakable quality of a bygone era of car manufacture. With that in mind, what exactly defines a classic? A classic car is, simply put, a car that belongs to the highest levels of style and class, the type of car that inspires modern myths. Some examples of this type of car are the legendary pink Cadillac and the equally revered Chevy Impala. They are typically over 25 years old and are often compared to fine wine, in the sense that these cars can only get better with age. For the most part, these cars are no longer fit to be driven on a daily basis and the few that are require painstaking, near-constant maintenance to stay that way. Interestingly, if a formal definition is what you want, you're not likely to find a consistent one. Different groups have different definitions of what a classic model is, and even the car insurance industry has rules for defining what is or is not a classic automobile. Much like the art world and their masterpieces, no single definition appears to cover and appease all groups with regards to these cars. Groups often argue as to the exact number of years it takes for a car to be considered a classic but most hold it at around 15-20 years from the original year of manufacture. Some groups have a stricter guideline than others in determining what belongs on the list as a classic car and what does not. Some models, like the aforementioned Cadillac and the Ford Model-T, are nearly universal among these lists but other makes and models, like the 1948 Pontiac Sedan or the Impala, are not as widespread in acceptance. There are groups that recognize a model of car that was made in limited quantities, therefore a collectible, to be among the list of classics. In reality, there is no clear-cut definition of what a classic vehicle is or is not, though there are some cars that make it into any list by any definition because to the sheer value and nostalgia that they inspire, or through the mythic status the cars have come to enjoy over the years. In the end, one should use a classic car list that fits one's needs. There is currently little consensus as to how to exactly define a car but some elements, like insurance and popularity, should play a role in how a person defines the term "classic car." However, all these groups agree that a classic, beyond the objective level, is a model of car that inspires memories of past decades and must have potent nostalgic presence.

What do i need to worry about when buying a second hand car

If you apply a little common sense when looking to purchase a second hand car, all should go well, and you could end up getting a car which will serve you well for a long time. However, if you rush blindly into what seems like a good deal, then you could end up not even getting the car home before it breaks down. When thinking of purchasing a car second hand there are some points which you should give consideration to and be on the look out for when giving your potential new car the once over. Always go to view the car in good light. Never, ever go at night or view in an area which has very poor lighting. If the seller is reluctant to show you the vehicle in good lightning conditions, consider this a warning sign. Always spend time looking for rust on the bodywork. While a few surface blisters are usually harmless, corrosion is a totally different thing. If you see a rust blemish then gently rub it with your finger and if you hear a rustling noise this could mean there is corrosion underneath the rust. Look for any signs that the vehicle has been in a collision previously. Obvious signs are joins where the car has been welded, or creases on the bodywork. Where possible take a qualified mechanic with you to view the vehicle before handing over any money. Take the car for a test drive – it may be uncomfortable or have a blind spot. You can also see then just how ‘healthy’ it sounds. Finally, walk away from the deal if anything such as the owner not being able to supply you with the correct documentation happens. If the vehicle registration documents do not agree with the address where you are viewing the car, be suspicious. The car could be stolen or it could be trader posing as a private seller.

What every driver should know about tires

Underinflation of tires, according to studies by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, is the leading cause of tire failure and, therefore, tire-related automotive accidents. In short, keeping your tires inflated to the proper pressure is integral for the safety or yourself, your passengers, and other drivers on the road. There are several reasons tires lose pressure. Tears in the tire wall or punctures are obvious causes of "slow leaks," but ambient temperature can also cause changes in tire pressure as well. For example, if you live in Los Angeles where it is 68 degrees and drive up into the mountains where it is 33 degrees — a journey of about 1.5 hours – you can expect a 4.4 psi pressure drop by the time you reach your destination. Why? It's typical for tires to lose pressure at approximately 1 psi for every 8-degree drop in temperature. On top of that, tires regularly lose 1 psi per month as well. Most of us simply "eyeball" our tires and don't add air until we see a visual difference. This method is not reliable and if fewer people used it as a guide for proper inflation, there'd certainly be fewer accidents as well. In most cars, trucks, and SUVs, the recommended tire pressures are printed on a label in the glove box, on the driver's manual, or on a sticker adhered to the doorframe. Keep a gauge handy and use it regularly. Doing so will not only keep you and your occupants safer, but will also improve your fuel economy. It's also important to have your tires rotated and inflated to the proper pressure about once every 6,000 miles unless the manufacturer of your vehicle suggests otherwise. Uneven wear on tires can also lead to underinflation. Some new vehicles now have warning systems to alert drivers of tire pressure loss as a part of their active safety packages. For example, Isuzu's Ascender SUV – known for its upgraded safety features – has a Tire Pressure Monitoring System that instantly warns the driver of a significant pressure loss. Isuzu's pickup truck line employs the same technology. The second leading cause of tire failure is overloading a tire. This happens often with owners of pickup trucks and SUVs. Just because your vehicle can contain a heavy load doesn't mean your tires can support the same amount of weight. Be sure to check maximum load weights and speeds before attempting to haul or tow a heavy load. Be sure to also use the proper tire for the conditions you're driving in. While it may seem more appropriate to use snow tires on dry roads than regular tires in heavy snow and ice conditions, it's not. Dry roads cause escalated wear of snow tires and reducing traction. It's best to use the proper tires in the proper environments and when the season changes, change your tires as well. "All-season" tires may seem like the most convenient answer, but keep in mind that while they may be adequate in all weather conditions, the nature of their design to do so, keeps them from performing excellently in one specific condition. And because they are not perfectly adapted to any specific weather condition, they may wear more quickly than specialized seasonal tires would when used in the conditions they were designed to function the best.

What every shipper should know before hiring a motor carrier

: A freight broker matches shippers that need to transport freight with shipping companies. Freight brokers have access to many carriers and are able to obtain the right equipment for the move and can save money for shippers. The use of a freight broker is ideal for small and mid-size companies that do not have dedicated personnel responsible for making transportation arrangements. Shippers that contract with motor carriers directly may inadvertently hire unauthorized, unsafe, or underinsured motor carriers which can create unlimited liabilities for shippers in the event of damage or losspanies can significantly reduce these and other liability risks by implementing sound carrier qualification procedures. Carrier qualification procedures might include the following: Motor Carrier Authority and Insurance Filings Develop a file for every motor carrier and check it before tendering shipments for the first time. The file must include a copy of the carrier's operating authorities and insurance filings with the FMCSA as well as the carrier's safety rating with the FMCSA. Verify that the motor carrier’s authority is active and the authority type is for common or contract. Also, verify that a BOC-3 agent for service of process has been appointed and filed. Safety Ratings Obtain a copy of the carrier’s Safety Rating issued by the Department of Transportation. Carriers with "Unsatisfactory" ratings should never be used. Check the carrier's Safety Evaluation Area (SEA) ratings. A SEA rating over 75 is considered to be deficient; therefore, carriers with SEA rating over 75 should not be used. If the carrier’s safety rating is Satisfactory, verify business references, call insurance providers to verify that all insurance policies are current and up-to-date, and obtain a signed motor carrier agreement before tendering any loads. If the carrier’ Safety Rating is Conditional, obtain a copy of the report issued to the carrier indicating its safety rating is “Conditional” and why. Ask the carrier about specific steps being taken to be in full compliance and restored the rating to Satisfactory. If the carrier’s Safety Rating is “Unrated” or “None”, find out how long the carrier has been in business. If the carrier is new and the owners have recently owned another transportation company, ask what happened and if the other company is still in business. Motor Carrier Policies Additionally, inquire about the carrier’s policies regarding safety including controlled substance testing, medical exams, driver training regulations and driver compliance with hours of service regulations for all motor carriers. Also, request references and verify carrier’s service record with those references. Cargo and Liability Insurance Always contact the carrier’s insurance provider and verify that insurance coverage is adequate, accurate, and up-to-date for every motor carrier. Request that the carrier provides a list of exclusions which may exist in its policies. Match the carrier’s name to that on the insurance certificate and on the FMCSA operating authority. Verify that there is an authorized signature at the bottom of the insurance certificate. Approved Carrier Review Motor carrier files must be kept current. All new information received must be filed promptly and the file must be reviewed on a regular basis to check for potential changes in authority, safety ratings, and insurance coverage. Double Brokering Check to see if the motor carrier also has broker authority. Some motor carriers with broker authority are known to double broker loads to other carriers who might be unauthorized, unsafe, and underinsured to transport shipments. Although there will always be problems when hiring motor carriers, the implementation of carrier qualification procedures can significantly reduce the risk of liability.

What happens at an antique car auction

Antique car auctions can be a great place to pick up a real bargain. They attract classic car enthusiasts from far and wide. The most popular car auction is the US is the Barrett-Jackson annual car auction which is held in Palm Beach, Florida. The last auction attracted over 65,000 people and even if you don’t intend bidding it’s still worth the trip to soak up the atmosphere and camaraderie between the antique car enthusiasts. Antique Car Auctions Events Most antique car auctions work the same way as any other kind of auction. The auction house produces a list of the cars that are to be auctioned and the dates it will take place. The cars are sometimes grouped into categories but this really depends on the specific auction house. The list of cars contains the information about the antique cars available. Namely the make, model and sometimes the owner’s details. The information is usually limited and the condition of cars is not usually stated to avoid any legal comebacks. You will usually find that the majority of people at an auction are there just to look and not to sell or purchase a vehicle. Auctions attract lots of enthusiastic collectors that just love to be around their favorite hobby. Very often traders and collectors will attend to get an idea of the value of specific cars. Auctions are great places for gauging a price that your own vehicle maybe worth. It’s kind of like getting yourself a free appraisal. Selling an antique car in an auction can be a bit of a hit or miss experience. If you are lucky and have the right vehicle and several interested people the price can go quite high, sometimes better than selling privately. However you take your chance that it may sell close to your reserve price or if really unlucky it may not sell at all. Buying can be tricky and we would always suggest you attend several auctions before bidding so that you get an idea of how it works. The last thing you want to do is to cough and find you just bought yourself a vintage vehicle for several thousand Dollars. All bids at the fall of the hammer are legally binding and must be honored. You should always be aware that once you have bought the car it is ‘sold as seen’. This means that should there be something wrong with it there is no comeback and it is assumed you checked the car thoroughly beforehand and was aware of any possible defects. Having said that you can sometimes bag yourself a real bargain if you play safe and don’t jump at the first car you see.

What harley davidson model seats you best

Since ultimate comfort while riding is one of the main aims of motorcycle buyers, many Harley Davidson riders are more concerned with the height of the seat. This would give them a relaxed, more convenient cruise with the confidence that they can lay their feet flat on the ground whenever needed. Yes, we can say that bikes can be ridden even without having the foot flat on the ground, but to keep the rider in control while maintaining full balance when at full stop, the height of the Harley-Davidson seat is very important. The seat’s main purpose of course is to keep the rider in a comfortable position while traveling. A Harley-Davidson seat is very effective in this. However, you might not be aware that each seat is different from each other. Having said that, it must be noted that each Harley-Davidson model has different seat height. The list below contains the seat height of the 2006 Harley-Davidson models. The figure on the left is in inches. The right column is the list of 2006 Harley-Davidson models. What is a car s real trade in value

We all have the same goal when it comes to buying a car and making sure we get the most possible for our trade-in. At the least, we want to make sure that we're not being taken advantage of. So, with the advent of the internet and the myriad of car information now available to us, we point ourselves over to Kelley Blue Book to find this all-important value. Later, when we're actually negotiating with a Dealer, we find it's not quite this easy. The Dealer's trade-in figure is lower than the one we got from the internet. So, we whip it out and ask for an explanation, and rightfully so. The truth of the matter is that a vehicle's "trade-in value" is not a number that is simply black and white. It's quite "gray" actually. You see, it's not unlike valuing your own home. What is your home worth? Well, you can get a ballpark idea ... maybe a general price range. But a precise and fair figure? Nope. Why? Because there are a number of other factors that determine "value". What have similar homes (or cars) sold for recently? How long did it take them to sell? Is demand currently strong? Weak? Somewhere in between? What's the premium currently being paid for extra features such as a pool or a shed (sunroof or leather)? A Dealer tries to access such issues, and of necessity, "opinion" and "subjectiveness" are going to play a significant role. And much the same way as having your house appraised for a loan, you'll get different answers from different "experts". Another factor is very fluid. The Dealer will certainly check what similar vehicles have sold for at the wholesale, Dealer-Only car auctions. Have there been a lot of them? Did the bidding of other Dealers indicate local Dealer demand? What could he buy this same car for at the auction? If he's unable to sell it, what price would he likely get for it at the auction? Does he have other similar vehicles in stock that have been difficult to sell? And then, whatever figure the Dealer comes up with, he's going to reduce it a bit further to reduce the risk he's taking in investing in your car. He doesn't want to lose the profit he's making on your new car when selling or disposing of your trade-in. So what's a consumer left to do? Well, unfortunately, it's negotiate, negotiate, negotiate ... as unpleasant as it is. The best alternative, however, is to sell the car on your own. Although this takes additional time and effort, it is often well worthwhile. One way to do this is actually very simple: just put a "For Sale" sign in your back window. We've seen this for years, but now that virtually everyone has a cell phone, it often works quite quickly. Another alternative is to list your vehicle online since people shop for cars on the internet now far more now than reading newspaper classified ads. High traffic sites such as AutoTrader or Cars charge in the $40 to $70 range and usually the ad runs until the vehicle is sold.

You need to check and ensure certain important aspects like water levels, gas, and oil and tire pressures of your vehicle. You also need to check seats, mirrors and ensure important documentations like insurance before hitting the roads. The second aspect related to defensive driving is that you should never react to road rage and neither display it. This ensures that you don’t break traffic rules recklessly and arrive to any condition which causes harm to you or others. It is advisable that you purchase bright colored cars. Car colors like yellow, orange or red can make your car easily visible and prominent on the roads. On an average basis, bright colored cars are less likely to be involved in an accident rather than light colored cars. Usage of headlights is an important aspect related to defensive driving. It ensures that others can see you coming and you can also see clearly during night driving. While you drive, you need to ensure that you apply the three second rule. This rule states that you should at least maintain a driving time of 3 seconds behind the vehicle in front of you. You should maintain this driving time all of the times. However, if the car condition or environmental conditions are bad, you should increase this driving time to 5 seconds. While driving you should avoid the cars that reflect signs of being damaged down or are broken down. Researches and studies have shown that these cars are prominently driven by bad drivers. Follow defensive driving and have a happy and safe driving!

What is hybrid and how can it benefit you

With gas prices on the rise and no relief in site, many people are starting to consider the advantage of owning a hybrid vehicle. But what exactly is a hybrid and how can it benefit you? First you should know that hybrids are actually much more common that you might think. For example, many commuter trains and city buses are electric-diesel hybrids. Many types of industrial heavy vehicles are also hybrids such as mining trucks and even submarines. So the definition then of a hybrid is any vehicle that runs on not just one, but a combination of two power sources. So why should you buy one? Let’s consider the advantages. Hybrid cars are energy efficient. They are affordable and they are a workable way to deal with our energy situation and are therefore worth supporting. They have small efficient gas engines that work in combination with an electric motor. The two work together, the electric motor recharges while the car is in motion. Efficiency is then maintained by aerodynamic styling, lightweight material, and intermittent engine shut off. Intermittent engine shut off comes into play when the car is stopped for short periods such as a stop light. The engine then shuts off and kicks back on when the gas pedal is depressed. Lightweight building materials are used to make the hybrid more energy efficient and emphasis is placed on aerodynamic styling to reduce wind drag. Hybrid cars use low rolling resistance tires which are unique in that they are narrower and stiffer and have a lot less drag which adds to the energy efficiency. Hybrids are also better for our environment. They emit 97% less emissions than regular cars and have roughly the same amount of carbon dioxide. They get far greater gas mileage and are equally as safe to drive as non hybrid cars. Hybrids also drive the same as regular cars so it is treated in the same manner; nothing new to learn specific to the handling of a hybrid. Owners of hybrids may also be entitled to incentives. These vary from state to state so check in your area to find out what is available. One blanket incentive is a reduction in federal taxes for hybrid owners.

What is radar and how does it affect your driving

We have all heard of the term 'radar' but we rarely ask ourselves what radar really means? What are its uses? And what is the purpose of it? Radar is a short form for 'radio detection and ranging'. It is a remote detection process which is used to trace and identify objects. Radar can determine the distance, speed, direction of motion and shape of an object. The radar can identify objects even if it is out of sight. It can also work in all kinds of weather conditions which made this an essential tool for many industries. This device is used in navigation in the sea and air, helps in detecting military forces and also helps improve traffic safety. Radar has also become a very important tool for every policeman because they can easily catch a speeding motorist by only using radar detector. But how do these radar detectors work? In order to work the radar system is composed of four very important components. These are the transmitter, the antenna, the receiver, and the display. • The transmitter produces electrical signals in the correct form for the type of radar system. • The antenna on the other hand, sends these signals out as electromagnetic radiation. The antenna also collects incoming return signals and passes them to the receiver. • The receiver analyzes the signals and passes it to the display. • The display allows human operators to see the signal data. Radar depends on sending and receiving electromagnetic radiation which is regularly in the form of radio waves or microwaves. Electromagnetic radiation is energy that moves in waves at or close to the speed of light. The characteristics of electromagnetic waves depend on their wavelength. Gamma rays and X rays have very short wavelengths. Noticeable light is a tiny slice of the electromagnetic spectrum with wavelengths longer than X rays, but shorter than microwaves. Radar systems use long-wavelength electromagnetic radiation in the microwave and radio ranges. Because of these long wavelengths, radio waves and microwaves are inclined to reflect better than shorter wavelength radiation, which tends to scatter or be absorbed before it gets to the target. Radio waves at the long-wavelength end of the spectrum will even reflect off of the atmosphere’s ionosphere, a layer of electrically-charged particles in the earth’s atmosphere. Radar usually starts it system by sending out signals. The signal bounces off a target object and returns to the radar gun. This signal moves at a steady speed of light, so a computer unit can determine the time it takes for a signal to return. If the target object is moving towards the radar gun, the frequency becomes higher due to a phenomenon called the Doppler shift. This means a moving police vehicle can exactly estimate the speed of a car approaching it. Police do not have to remain still by the side of the highway to detect speeders with radar guns. Radar detectors are small devices used by many drivers to identify the presence of radar police units. These radar detectors will pick up the radar gun’s signal before the driver speeds his/her vehicle past the police using it.

What is the difference between one way insurance and full coverage insurance

When traveling, especially when going abroad, it is often fundamental to have an insurance policy for your trip. When going to foreign countries that you often know little or nothing about, it is very important to do all you can to insure your trip goes as planned, with as few setbacks as possible. Unfortunately, unplanned events that are completely out of our control often come up, this is one reason why insurance policies are a necessary part of traveling. Whenever preparing for a trip, be sure to consult your travel agent about insurance plans and fees. Your regular insurance plans for medical problems will not do you much good in a foreign country, and if you are far from home and an emergency comes up, it is good to have an insurance policy. An insurance policy that covers your travels will often cover all kinds of emergencies, whether they involve the need for medical care while you are abroad, or an emergency back home requires immediate attention and you are forced to cancel your plans and return immediately – your insurance policy will cover the cancellation fees and take care of providing the quickest means for you to get home. These are just a couple examples of the many unexpected events that may occur while you are traveling, making insurance a very useful thing to have while on a trip. There are many different plans and prices for traveling insurance, travel agents will often offer you an insurance plan when you are purchasing tickets or preparing for a trip. If they don’t, be sure to ask them for a list of insurance options. Some trips, such as student exchange programs, require an insurance policy for the student to be accepted in the program. Depending on what kind of trip you are making, there are different types of insurance plans. One way insurance is specifically designed for you in the event you are not returning to the country you are leaving from. For instance, if you are returning home after an extended stay abroad, or moving to another country, a one way insurance policy will insure you all the way there, and often permits some traveling around as you make your way to your final destination. In the event of an emergency, your insurance will see to it that you get to your destination. For further details about one way insurance coverage, be sure to consult your local dealer. Full coverage insurance will cover your entire trip, whether to one country or several, all the way until you are safely home again. Despite the term full coverage, there are different plans within the term, at a range of different prices and extent of coverage. Both full coverage and one way insurance plans have several different options of plans available. When planning your trip, consult your travel agent about the different plans in order to decide which best suits the trip you are planning.

What kind of motorcycle gloves do i need

When it comes to motorcycle gloves there are a lot of choices, some of these depend on your riding style and what you want to wear. I personally like full fingered gloves but a lot of guys that ride cruiser's will not wear a glove at all or they wear half fingered gloves. These look a lot like weight training gloves where the palm and top of the fingers are covered but the tips are exposed. The advantage to these gloves is that you don't loose all the sensitivity where with a totally closed glove you will. Also the short fingered motorcycle gloves will keep your hands from sweating. Hatch makes a really nice pair of these gloves called shorty gloves. Hatch makes quality gloves so I would recommend those if you like short fingered gloves. Short fingered gloves are a favorite of the cruiser crowd. I guess they go with the whole image and they do offer some protection in case you go down. I have seen a guys hand that had a spill without any gloves on and the road took all the meat of the palm of his hand. Not a real nice feeling I am guessing, therefore it is essential to wear some sort of hand protection when you are out riding. If you do fall I can almost guarantee 99 percent of the time your hands are going to touch that pavement and unless you have some leather on them your hands are asking for a serious case of road rash if youre lucky. So at a minimum a set of short fingered gloves will do the job nicely. Full fingered gloves offer a bit more protection then their short fingered counterparts. Most of your sport bike crowd will use a full fingered glove. Some are gauntlet style or just a regular glove. Icon makes some really nice gauntlet style gloves as does AGV and Alpinestars. I personally own a pair of Alloy Alpinestars gloves which I have had for about 3 years now. These gloves are perforated and a are perfect for warm weather riding which is about 9 months out of the year where I live. I also like these gloves because they are simple and even when I am out on my chopper they look good where some of your more flashy hard core sport rider gloves are a bit to flashy for a cruiser these do double duty quite nicely. Icon also makes a set of gloves called pursuit gloves that are much along these lines. However if you want the ultimate in protection you will want to get a pair of gauntlet style road racing or track gloves. These types of gloves are made to really do the best job when it comes to protecting you in a spill. Most of them offer some sort of knuckle protection as well as a reinforced palm, also the seams are usually reinforced in order to ensure that the glove will stay in one piece under extreme conditions. Ultimately the choice is yours, whether to wear gloves or not period. You will find that most bikers that have been riding for a while do wear some sort of hand protection. Their are many different styles of glove available so there is bound to be one that suits your needs. It doesn't matter who makes them but I would recommend you go with a quality manufacturer of motorcycle apparel like Alpinestars, Hatch, Icon or AGVSport. When you go with one of them you can be ensured that the gloves you are getting are of the best quality and will do the job they are designed for.
