    What is gps

GPS stands for Global Positioning System. It is a satellite radio navigation system built by the United States Department of Defense. Research on the system began in the 60’s and the first GPS satellite was launched in 1978. It took a while for the entire system to come online but finally on April 27, 1995 it became fully operational. At first, the GPS network was only for military use but in the 80's the United States government authorized the general public to make use of it too. The GPS network is composed of: Satellites Earth Monitoring Stations GPS receivers What is a GPS Satellite? There are currently 24 satellites orbiting the earth is 6 distinct trajectories. Each satellite completes two orbits around the earth each day, traveling at a speed of about 7,000 MPH. At the highest point in their orbit they are over 12,000 miles above the earth. From this height, the satellite signals can be received over a large percentage of the surface of the earth. A GPS unit works by receiving multiple satellite signals and calculating the receiver's position based on triangulation of the different signals. Accuracy is increased with each additional satellite signal that is received so the orbits of the satellites are set so that at most points on the earth there are at least 4 signals that can be received. Of course, this is in theory only since the landscape around you can block some or all of the GPS signals. What is a GPS Earth Monitoring Station? There are four unmanned monitoring stations in the US and one manned master station which is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The four unmanned stations relay position data from the satellites to the master station. The master station uses the relayed information to correct the position of the sat tiles and sends the corrected information back to the satellites. This synchronizes the data that each satellite transmits to your GPS receiver and ensures that your receiver is always working with accurate information. What is a GPS Receiver? GPS satellites transmit low power radio signals that can only be picked up if your GPS unit has a direct "line of sight" to the satellite. The signals can penetrate things like glass, plastic and clouds but not solid structures like buildings or rocks. A GPS unit works by triangulating your location based on the position of at least three satellites in the GPS system. It compares the time it takes to receive a signal from each of the satellites in range and calculates your location based on the data. If you are only able to pick up three satellite signals, your GPS unit can report your location in latitude and longitude. However, when the GPS unit picks up signals from at least four satellites it also calculates your altitude. Now it can report your trip distance, distance to a destination, travel speed and even your altitude if your GPS receiver features an altimeter. How accurate a GPS unit is depends on its ability to find and lock onto a satellite’s signal. As you might expect, you get what you pay for and the more expensive GPS units are generally more accurate. The best consumer units claim accuracy to within a few feet while the older or less expensive units can be off up to 30-40 feet or more. Where you plan to use your GPS receiver could determine if it's worth shelling out the extra money for increased accuracy. If you're using your GPS unit in flatter terrain with a good open view of the sky a less expensive unit could perform nearly as well as the top of the line receiver. However, if you plan to use your receiver in dense tree cover, while hiking in ravines or narrow valleys, or among tall buildings you'll gain much better accuracy with a more higher end GPS unit. Now you know the basics about how GPS works and can answer the question "What is GPS?".

What is mdi media delivery index

MDI - Media Delivery Index Media Delivery Index is an open standard for use in quality assurance of IP video systems. MDI is designed to address the problem of monitoring IP-encapsulated video signals in a live system. The RFC (RFC 4445) for MDI details the technicalities of this in depth, but the issue of how this applies to real systems is more useful for many people, and that is the aim of this article. The problem: The fundamental problem when delivering IP encapsulated video across a network is that losing one IP packet results in multiple media packet loss. UDP (User Datagram Protocol) based systems tend to encapsulate up to 7 188 (or 204) Byte Mpeg Transport Stream packets per udp packet. This means that losing one udp packet could result in 7 media packets being lost. Loss of the media packets means that content is lost and the STB (set top box) or other end device must handle this as well as it can. Depending on the actual content of the packets (video, voice, data, stuffing) at the time, the impact will be different. In an ideal world – NO packets (IP or otherwise) would be lost across the network. The biggest contributing factor to packet loss on a network is Jitter. Jitter is a increased packet delivery time caused by buffering on the video flows by network equipment across the IP infrastructure. If jitter is added to the flows, each network device will need to have an accordingly increased buffer size in order to store the ip packets and forward them along the network (while aggregating or removing flows which are going to or from that section of the network). MDI therefore has 2 main components – MDI-MLR (Media Loss Rate), and MDI – DF (delay factor – or cumulative jitter). MDI - MLR relates to the mpeg packets being lost and their rate. MDI – DF relates to the current buffer size required for a flow at that point in the network. This component is a number in Milliseconds (mS) and is dependant on the bitrate of the stream being monitored. Since DF relates to stream bitrates and network jitter, this value changes (gets lower) as streams of higher bitrates are used. This is an important consideration as it can be a great indicator of impending problems, and also alludes to the fact that your network jitter will have a different impact of streams of different bitrates. This issue also means that just because your network can deliver Standard Definition Mpeg streams, you cannot make the assumption that High Definition streams will also be ok. (they tend to be higher bitrate and thus the network jitter will affect them more). MDI was co-authored by Cisco (World dominating network hardware providers) and Ineoquest (World leading video monitoring solutions company) and is used by most proficient solutions providers and in most Quality Of Service (QOS) equipment. Since MDI caters for both the IP layer and the Mpeg layer of monitoring, it is a very scalable and robust metric to use.

What is power quality and why do i need a power quality analyzer

The reliability and cost of any electrical system depends greatly on the quality of the power supplied to and consumed by the system. Poor power quality may result in improper function, overheating, accelerated wear and tear, falsely tripped circuit breakers and, in some cases, hazardous conditions. With the introduction of new electronic technologies over the last several decades, the world has placed new and more complex demands for clean and reliable power. Measuring Power Quality typically involves calculating indicators of power demand, power consumption and power cleanliness. By measuring demand and consumption, consumers can identify cost centers in their electrical infrastructures as well as engineer the electrical infrastructure required to meet those demands. By measuring cleanliness, consumers are able to avoid improper function, overheating and a plethora of other consequences of unclean power. What is power demand and how do we measure it? Power demand is the amount of average electrical energy that is consumed over some period of time by a device, machine building, etc... Power Quality Analyzers, electronic instruments used to measure indicators of power quality, can average the electrical energy and display it in units of “kilowatts”. It is important that electrical systems are supplied with enough power to meet peak periods of demand. How does power consumption differ from power demand? Power consumption, similar to demand, is the “sum” of electrical usage over time. Power demand reflects an instantaneous view of electrical usage, whereas, power consumption sums the electrical usage over the same period of time. Power Quality Analyzers measure consumption in units of watthours (Wh) or kilowatthours (kWh). Most calculations of the cost of power are based on consumption and measured by $ per kWh. Once we know power consumption, we can calculate a useful metric called “Power Factor”. Power Factor is a ratio of the actual power used by an electrical system to the apparent power delivered by the utility. In almost all cases, the actual power used will be less than the apparent power delivered because of heat dissipation, frictional loss, work performed and other release of energy by the electrical system. We can use Power Factor to help us put a price tag on the amount of work the electrical system is performing, as well as help us install capacitors and other devices that store real energy to avoid being charged for excess apparent power. With a Power Quality Analyzer, you can calculate the “Reactive Compensation”, the amount of capacitive value required to correct a low Power Factor. Power cleanliness and the need to understand harmonics Power cleanliness refers to identifying and freeing power of “harmonics”. The concept of harmonics is a bit more difficult to understand than demand and consumption. Harmonics are a result of non-linear loads that cause irregular spikes and dips in voltage and current on an electrical system. The power provided by utility companies is delivered in the form of a constant voltage AC (Alternating Current) and takes the shape of a sine wave. Ohms law says the amount of current used by an electrical device depends on the load (inductance) of that device. If the load varies over time, so will the current. Harmonics appear when varying loads (non-linear) create short pulses of current that deform the supplied, sinusoidal current waveform, creating an arbitrary waveform. You can think of an arbitrary wave as being made up of several fundamental waveforms. The easiest illustration of an arbitrary wave is to picture two people on opposite sides of a pool who create a wave towards each other with a pool float. When the waves intersect in the middle, the result is a wave that is twice as tall. The resulting wave is made up of two fundamental waves. This illustration can be used to explain that happens when harmonics occur due to non-linear loads. The current wave becomes deformed from a perfect sine wave and peaks and valleys create un-clean power. Harmonics can cause devices to overheat, electrical wire ratings to be reduced, motors to prematurely wear and circuit breakers to falsely trip. Power Quality Analyzers have the ability to identify and analyze the fundamental harmonics that make up an arbitrary current wave. Measurements such as THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) can tell you the contribution of harmonic currents to the fundamental current required. Measured as a percentage, 10% would be a reason for concern. Another measurement called “Crest Factor” will indicate the level of peaking caused by harmonics. The Crest Factor is a ratio of the Peak Value / RMS Value, which in a perfect sine wave would be 1.414. Choosing a Power Quality Analyzer There are a number of different Power Quality Analyzer manufacturers such as Fluke, AEMC, Hioki and Extech. Some analyzers are designed to measure single phase systems while others are for three phase systems. Many PQAs integrate with PCs, have enhanced data logging capabilities and can produce professional reports typically requested for power quality applications. Power Quality Analyzers range in price from $1500 to $6500 with the more expensive products offering greater analysis functionality. Whatever your application or budget it is important that power quality is a factor in the design and maintenance of your electrical system. In order to reduce costs, avoid downtime, and increase the service life of your system, power quality is a force to be reckoned with.

What is spyware and how did i get it

There are three types of software you are likely to encounter whilst using your PC online. Spyware, adware and malware. Most people use a collective term to describe them. Either a virus or spyware. Strictly speaking they are designed differently to perform certain functions. Spyware. Spyware does what it says. It spies on you. It can monitor your activities, surfing habits, credit card information, passwords etc. and send this data back to a central location so some unscrupulous people can use this data. Unlike adware, spyware usually runs silently in the background without making you aware it’s there. Obviously the longer it goes undetected the more information it can retrieve from its victims. Spyware is a very serious risk and should not be taken lightly. Once an attacker has got your personal details such as credit card information, passwords for online banking etc. you stand a very real chance of identity theft and financial loss. Adware Adware is generally used to force adverts in front of you. It will monitor your surfing habits and when you visit a site it recognises it will force a relative advert or pop-up. Let’s say you visit a site that is selling second-hand motor cars. If the spyware recognises the site you are visiting it may well force adverts in front of you that are relative to that site. For example car insurance, vehicle recovery services etc. Other types of adware just force advertising in front of you whether it is relative or not. P*rn sites are of common use and can pop-up at the most inconvenient of times (usually when the wife is stood behind you)! Some adware will change your home page, add links to your favourites, add shortcuts to your desktop. Not such a major security risk like spyware. But it can become extremely annoying to have adverts popping up when you least expect it and having to constantly change you home page. Malware Malware is short for “malicious software”. It is designed to destroy data on your PC or cause havoc on a network. Trojans, viruses, worms etc usually fall into this category. Obviously a major security risk and the results can be catastrophic. Unless immediate action is taken to remove you will more than likely lose some, if not all, data on your PC. It’s not uncommon to have to completely reformat a hard drive to remove them. How Did I Get Infected? There are umpteen ways it could have happened. But here are a few of the most common: •Attachments sent in e-mails. •Downloading free music. •Downloading free utilities. •Installing untrustworthy software. •Visiting certain types of websites (p*rn, warez etc.) •Installed when using instant messaging services.

What is spyware and what does it do

Spyware has become a primary big threat for Internet surfers as it spies on them and gather their personal information by monitoring and tracking their Internet usage habits. Spyware is not to be confused with spam and virus. As the name implies, spyware is software that spies on computer users and glean the information on their Internet browsing habits and at times, track their personal information once installed. Spywareware is also called Trojans, Worms, Dialers Hijackers and Keyloggers Besides the frustrating by-product consequences, the trouble with spyware is that users frequently encourage the dangerous applications into their systems by entering into spyware fixed websites and unwillingly permitting the evil-ware to trace their computer usage habits. Spyware, once installed, can broadcast the private information of the user and download ads 24X7 while getting hold of the browser settings like search or home page. So some forms of spyware and infections are more dangerous than others. Recognizing spyware is a challenge in itself as people notice programs when they cause performance concerns into their computers, like the computer might hang repeatedly or slowdown drastically, Internet Explorer (IE) might work inappropriately. If your computer started to suddenly slow down or do have begun to see pop-up windows, even when you're not browsing the Internet? You may be then the victim of spyware or other unwanted software. Removing spyware is also a major concern area but identification of spyware remains a more crucial and complicated part. Illegitimate spyware generally fixes on computer stealthily by two methods: By duping users to click a link that installs it and the links to the spyware can be deceiving. For instance, a website intending to place spyware on a user’s computer might open a window resembling a Windows dialog box and then dodge the user by installing while closing the dialog box by clicking the Cancel button. At times, spyware places a false title bar in a vacant window and then installs spyware when user attempts to close it. The spyware is often also installed when the users add a free file-sharing program that secretly installs spyware on their systems. Unfortunately, spyware has emerged as a major threat to the computer users while browsing the Internet. With the mounting problem, probability of users remaining “spyware free” is being narrowed down. Most spyware functions mutely on the computer without leaving any traces or signs of the information pilferage. Though anti-virus tools are significant to use, external software like antispyware is even more indispensable to track spyware as the virus programs cannot trace the spyware files. Installing spyware protective programs is the most successful technique to recover privacy by eradicating spyware infections. Antivirus offers only insufficient protection against spyware. Antispyware tools are explicitly designed to trace, eliminate, or fix spyware-infected files. But discovering an authentic spyware removing tool might be hard due to infinite list of programs. The user can decide over the best tool by reading reviews and researching online. Most tools offer a 30 days trial period for evaluation purposes.

What is the best lcd tv size for your room

Are you the type of person that hugs the huge LCD TVs when you’re walking through the electronics store? I know how you feel, bigger means better. However, when you’re choosing the best LCD TV size for you, there are some things you need to take into consideration. First of all, how big is the room that you will be placing the television in? If it’s a fairly small room, you will want to choose an LCD TV that works well with the room. If you’re too close to the television when you’re watching something, the picture can look distorted. Look at the width of the television, and remember that three times that number is how far away you want to be. So if your television is two feet wide, you want the sofa or chairs to be around 6 feet away from the TV. This will ensure the best LCD TV picture quality and clarity. Another thing you want to determine is the angle view. Depending upon what type and size of television, you will have a view of a certain angle. Further than your allotted angle, and you will experience distortion. You will also want to measure your entertainment center, the wall you will mount it on, or the stand for the television. You don’t want to get home with a television that is too large, or one that your entertainment center dwarfs. If you’re going for around a 40 inch TV, Sony has some great models that are amazing picture quality and clarity. The good thing about these is that the picture still looks great even when viewed off center. This is important for large areas, because not everyone in the room will see the picture from dead center. So, you want the best LCD TV you can find that’s large enough to fill your wall nicely? Panasonic features their monster 61 inch LCD TV. Imagine watching Monday night football on this baby. You could see the player’s nose hair! Especially with your high definition. However, you had better be prepared to shell out some serious bucks for this bad boy. If you’re prepared to spend the money, this television is incomparable. It’s not hard to find the best LCD TV size for you if you follow the tips and advice in this article. Remember that you want to be able to watch the television comfortably from any area in the room. That’s a good guide to follow to get the best TV you can get. bestlcdtv. thebestreview. net/reviews/best-lcd-tv-size. html

They also offer warranties on all of their offered products and certificates of authentication so that when you make your purchase you can be assured that it is an authentic brand name product, such as the Apple iPhone, that you are buying. the-iphone. biz/

What is the difference between a worm virus and trojan horse

Tips and recommendations for protecting your PC... Most of us don't make a real difference between worm, virus and Trajan Horse or refer to a worm or Trajan Horse as a virus. All of us know all are malicious programs that can cause very serious damage to PC. Exist differences among the three, and knowing those differences can help you to better protect your computer from their often damaging effects. A computer virus is a program or piece of code that is loaded onto your computer without your knowledge and runs against your wishes. Some viruses cause only mildly annoying effects while others can damage your hardware, software or files. Almost all viruses are attached to an executable file, which means the virus may exist on your computer but it cannot infect your computer unless you run or open the malicious program. A virus cannot be spread without a human action, (such as running an infected program) to keep it going. People continue the spread of a computer virus, mostly unknowingly, by sharing infecting files or sending e-mails with viruses as attachments in the e-mail. A worm is a program or algorithm that replicates itself. A worm has the capability to travel without any help from a person from PC to PC and have ability to replicate itself on your system, so rather than your computer sending out a single worm, it could send out hundreds or thousands of copies of itself, creating a huge devastating effect. A Trojan Horse is a destructive program that "working" as a benign application ( (like changing your desktop, adding silly active desktop icons) or can cause serious damage by deleting files and destroying information on your system. Trojans are also known to create a back door on your computer that gives malicious users access to your system, possibly allowing confidential or personal information to be compromised. Trojans do not reproduce by infecting other files nor do they self-replicate. Added into the mix, we also have what is called a blended threat. Blended threats combine the characteristics of viruses, worms, Trojan Horses, and malicious code with server and Internet vulnerabilities. By using multiple methods and techniques, blended threats can rapidly spread and cause widespread damage. Characteristics of blended threats include: causes harm, propagates by multiple methods, attacks from multiple points, and exploits vulnerabilities. This combination of method and techniques means blended threats can spread quickly and cause widespread damage. Characteristics of blended threats include: causes harm, propagates by multiple methods, attacks from multiple points and exploits vulnerabilities. They are considered to be the worst risk to security since the inception of viruses, as most blended threats require no human intervention to propagate. Therefore is very important to protect your PC with a good anti-virus software installed on your system with the latest fixes for new viruses, worms, and Trojan horses. Additionally, you want to make sure your anti-virus program has the ability to scan e-mail and files as they are downloaded from the Internet. This will help prevent malicious programs from even reaching your computer. You should also install a a system that prevents unauthorized use and access to your computer (firewall as well). A good software firewall will protect your computer from outside attempts to control or gain access your computer, and usually provides additional protection against the most common Trojan programs or e-mail worms.

What is the difference between collocated servers and dedicated servers

When it comes to hosting a website, many individuals are torn between whether to use collocated servers or dedicated servers. In fact, many individuals do not know the difference between the two. There are several differences to be found between collocated servers and dedicated servers and the different functions of each may make an option more or less attractive to the website developer. There are many companies that will offer their customers the use of either a dedicated or collocated server and there are several advantages and disadvantages to each type of service. Ultimately, the decision rests with the website developer and their needs for the website. The main difference between a collocated server and a dedicated server is the ownership of the server. With a dedicated server, the user is provided with exclusive use of a server that is owned by another entity, generally the hosting provider A collocated server is owned by the user and is housed in a rental space along with the servers of many other companies and individuals. In other words, with a dedicated server you rent the server and with a collocated server, you rent the space to house your server. Each option is more cost effective than purchasing and housing the server on your own, but there are major differences in what you can and cannot do with the equipment. With a dedicated server, the individual has exclusive access to the server and can place any software, content, or applications on the server that they wish. Websites that use dedicated servers also have a higher reliability and can handle a great deal more traffic than sites that are hosted on shared servers. With a dedicated server, any issues that arise with the server are the responsibility of the company that the individual is renting the server from, which could be a good or bad thing. One of the biggest disadvantages to a dedicated server is that the individual only owns the data on the server, not the server itself, so if they are dissatisfied with the service they are being provided, they have little recourse until their contract expires. One of the biggest advantages of a collocated server is that the individual owns and has full access to the server at any time. The applications can be run from a remote location while the server is housed in a secure facility with an uninterruptible power supply, internet connectivity, and increased security features. Allowing the server to be collocated frees up valuable space in the home or business that would be needed to house the server and allows the individual to split the cost of utilities between all the individuals with servers housed in the area. The biggest disadvantage to collocated servers is that all issues, maintenance, and needed repairs to the server must be handled on your own. Which one do I need for my business? It depends mostly on your budget and the technical expertise available for you in house. If you are a small company that unable to handle the cost of collocation and providing the necessary IT experience then dedicated server may be your best choice.

What is the difference between cordless wirless headphones

Wireless headphones gives you the flexibility to move away from your stereo or television without feeling like you're going to miss something important. No longer do you have to wait for the next commercial. This freedom gives you the opportunity to move and work throughout the house and not miss a single thing. Would you like to hear the football or baseball game upstairs without having to move your stereo up there? Or maybe go outside for a few minutes to take the garbage out. No problem...you haven't missed a thing. Remember, the head sets themselves do not plug directly into your Ipod or stereo or tv. With each unit you purchase, there is a base unit with infrared technology that sends a signal to your headphones. This power unit is what plugs into your stereo or television. Also, the base usually is the cradle (on quality units) for recharging the head set as well. As mentioned earlier, this technology allows the freedom of wireless to be available for mp3 players and other hand held devices. This is great for those wanting to exercise and who is always fumbling with the cord on their head set. Many people trying to work out are so bothered by the cord the only thing they end up doing is untangling the cord or fixing their earpieces to be more comfortable and have a better fit. Also, you should know the difference between wireless and cordless. Many people think of them as the same, but they're not. Wireless means you most likely have to stay in the line of sight of the base unit. The technology behind this is similar to that of your remote control for the television. The standard range is about 30 feet. Some units are available with more mobility, but signal strength can be lost. This makes most of these units more compatible with home or office use than anywhere else. There are units available which have multi-user capabilities. This is great for one or more persons to share the exact same audio signal. A setup like this, makes music sharing easy and convenient. These setups are available for home office and standard office applications. Salesman selling on the telephone are no longer strapped to the desk. This allows freedom of movement. Being stuck in one position for long periods can actually tire someone out. With this, the telemarketer can stand and take a brief walk or stretch without the cumbersome burden of cords. Instantly, the work environment becomes a more productive and enjoyable experience. This cord-less technology makes it easy for a teacher to section the class room into groups. Each group can share the media from a single device. Result? The entire classroom is able to enjoy the freedom of mobility while still remaining productive. No longer are the students being stuck to their desk. Structured settings just became more relaxed. When the student does not feel burdened, the learning experience can become more enjoyable. Wireless headphones and the resulting technology is no longer limited to just a home stereo. The world is on the move and the wireless headphones technology is moving right along with them.

What is type library and how is it related to the registry

A Type Library is a software file that describes software interfaces in an operating system, typically Windows. It also describes co-classes, and other resources in a Common Object Model server. A type library file created by Visual Basic will always have a. TLB extension. The. TLB file is required by a client to connect to a server. A type library can be thought of as a binary version of an IDL (interface Definition Language) file. Visual basic creates a type library when you create a VB server object, thus eliminating the need for an IDL file. A C-like language used to define interfaces and co-classes for Ole View is a COM utility that reverse-engineers a type library into a readable form of IDL. IDL is used to provide language-independence for COM interfaces so that identical interfaces defined in VB, C++, and Java look the same in IDL even though they look different in the language used for implementation. Other Types of Type Library There is also the type library in the system that is used to display the type or font on the screen and printed document. This type or font library is located in the systems registry. Every time a program calls upon the type library top to display the font, the type library looks up the registry to locate the type that has to be displayed. If the type is not present in the library the page displays the default of the closest matching font for that type. So What Is The System Registry? The operating system must have the knowledge as to where to find certain files when the programs call on them for some function. This information was initially stored in the information folder denoted as INF in earlier versions of Windows primarily 95 and 98 first edition. Microsoft introduced the registry in windows 98 Second Edition to speed things up while loading and locating programs. But this can also slow the system down drastically. This Registry is a database used to store settings and options for the 32 bit versions of Microsoft Windows including Windows ME and NT/2000. The Registry contains information and settings for all the hardware, software, users, and preferences of the PC. This registry is constantly growing and updating itself. There will come a time when it will need to be cleaned. This can be done with one of the free XP registry cleaner if you are using XP or any other Microsoft free registry cleaner. The physical files that make up the registry are stored differently depending on your version of Windows; under Windows 95 & 98 it is contained in two hidden files in your Windows directory, called USER. DAT and SYSTEM. DAT, for Windows Me there is an additional CLASSES. DAT file, while under Windows NT/2000 the files are contained separately in the SystemRootSystem32Config directory. You cannot edit these files directly, you must use a tool commonly known as a registry cleaner to make any changes in the Registry. It is in fact, advisable never to fool around with the Registry unless you have a trusted registry windows cleaner such as the PC registry cleaner or the Eusing free Registry cleaner which are available on many download sites free.

It is the simplest type of VOIP service as ATA permits the use of a standard phone and it does not require any specifically designed IP phones that are generally used in other types of VOIP services. ATA functions by transforming the analog signals into a set of digital packets. These packets are forwarded to the broadband internet connection and are apportioned to the apt and appropriate telephone exchange for the call to get completed. How The Use Of VOIP Phones Is Advantageous In Business The VOIP telephone service has been gaining popularity tremendously, especially, in the field of businesses. The VOIP service providers permit the utilization of standard telephones which enables to make phone calls through a telephone connected to a landline telephone system. The VOIP system is inexpensive as the making of calls by using this system does not require any setting of phone lines and even the charges of calls are very cheap. This feature of cheap call rates is very much beneficial for the business people who are managing their businesses at international levels. It is the most efficient method of telephone system. Difference Between VOIP Telephone System And Regular Telephone System There are many people those who are bit confused between a VOIP telephone system and a regular telephone system. No doubt, the purpose of both the telephone systems is to make phone calls but the main difference lies in the manner they both work. In a regular phone system, the analog audio signals are forwarded through fiber optics in the form of telephone lines to the traditional telephone companies and get converted into the voices. But in case of VOIP telephone system, the analog signals get converted into digital packets and are then forwarded to the broadband internet connection, which are then distributed to telephone exchange for the completion of a call. How To Select Perfect VOIP system There are numerous VOIP service providers in the competitive market but you should choose the best among them. What is voip technology doing in the boardroom and in the airport

Is there a call you want to make without the extra cost? With your computer in tow and an Internet connection, you can make calls over the Internet in the middle of everywhere, even in busy airports. What is VoIP technology? That’s what this is all about. Calls On the Go Say goodbye to costly telephone bills. You can make a call from your computer when there are pressing business reports to make, even in a crowded airport or a cafe. Times have really changed and you have to know what is VoIP, or voice over Internet protocol, and how it gives you calling convenience. If you’re a frequent traveler, business or otherwise, you’ve spent the best part of your life waiting in airports, from small domestic airports to massive international ones. A call here and there is inevitable, especially if you have to give those last minute and often urgent instructions that seem to come out of nowhere. Isn’t it time that you should know what is VoIP technology and what’s it all about? Of course, you’ll need a chic Bluetooth headset and an IP server to get you going. Life spent in airports can be less of a headache if you can just connect to home and the office when there are pressing needs just before your flight is called. In the boardroom, the VoIP is taking teleconferencing to another level. The big chief can call his minions and talk to them at the same time without racking up costly long distance calls. The meeting goes on with perfect attendance, even if two or three guys are away on official business or on vacation! What You’ll Need for VoIP The VoIP process packages your voice into a digital signal which travels over the Internet superhighway. If you call the standard landline phone number, the signal is converted to the regular signal even before the phone rings. You can make your calls from your computer using a VoIP phone or the traditional handset which you will have to connect to a specialized adapter. With this adapter, you can make calls anywhere, as long as Internet connection is available in the area. Before you can fire away with a VoIP, you’ll need to get a VoIP server. You have the option to avail of free teleconferencing quotes online. When requesting for a quote, you’ll be required to answer a few questions, such as when and where you will be hosting your teleconference, the number of teleconferences a month you will be hosting, and the number of participants in the teleconferences. You are also given the option to choose from "reservationless" and pre-scheduled conference types. For the pre-scheduled type, an operator will assist you and handle all the salient details. You can also request for additional services, like transcription and call recording. Knowing all these details will give you an idea exactly what is VoIP teleconferencing about. Furthermore, you’ll also need Bluetooth headsets for your workforce on the go to get extreme coverage from your VoIP system. So What is VoIP Doing in the Boardroom and Airport? Your VoIP is working hard to ensure that you’ve got all your business calls and voice emails covered with less expense. You’ll have the latest reports and updates without that extra painful cost.
