    Your warcraft noob gold guide

Did you just start playing WoW or do you have a brand new character and want to learn how to make gold very quickly? This article is just for you! I feel it will help a lot of noobs to get started and even some people that just started playing on the brand new servers and wants to make gold quickly at the lower levels in the game! Start as Skinner and a Herbalist or Miner for a while to gather resources. You may have to travel to a main town to learn these skills early - but its worth doing early. Skinner as you will be killing many skinable mobs early on, and either Herbalist or Miner as the radar marker conflicts - you cant have both a Herbalist and Miner radar blip on. I have "toons" that are both Skinner, Herbalist and Skinner, Miner ... I think the coin generated is a little better as a Miner (esp as you get occ. gem drops in ore placements), but if you choose a dark-elf as a race go herbalist as the starting area has no mining resources - there may be an equivalent horde race ! Collect 6 slot bags as quickly as possible ... some will drop as loot, others can be bought from tailors ... you can do a /who and /tell and offer to buy COD (cash on delivery) via the mail system so you Dont have to buy from an NPC vendor or go to an Auction House before you are ready. Have a "mule" sitting in your factions Auction House Town (eg. Ironforge for Alliance) - create a character that is closest to the Auction House Town .. best a dwarf or gnome for easy access to Ironforge - Humans need to travel via Stormwind and the Underground tram system, Dark-Elves have to travel via foot for about 20 minutes through dangerous territory to get anywhere near Ironforge for the first time ... place your character very near a mailbox that is not busy. There are two mailboxes near the Auction House in Ironforge - one is always crowded .. crowds = lag. Choose the one that is not busy for your log-in/log-out place. This mule you will post your stacks to for sale at the Auction House. Keep notes of how much a stack of resources (light leather from skinning, copper ore from mining, silverleaf and peace blossom from herbalism) sell to an NPC vendor but Dont sell to the vendor. Check the Auction House prices using the search facility and take note of the starting and buyout prices for the stacks of resources you are selling. Many items have a buy-out price upto 10-20 times the price an NPC vendor will buy from you. I personally set my prices as follows .... starting price 2x the NPC vendor buy value (around 1.5-2.5s per stack) and a buyout price 5-6 times the NPC buy value unless all the competitor sellers buyout prices are way above or below that, then I set my buyouts at just below theirs. A couple of hours work at toon level 6-8 will give you 3-4 stacks of light leather, 2-3 stacks of herbs, 1-2 stacks or metals bars (yep, smelt them for mining experience before selling them ... if you are "grey" on smelting copper (ie no mining XP form it), sell the stacks of raw ore) and if you are working in an area of humanoids 1-2 stacks of linen cloth. Dont waste your linen on bandages (FirstAid) .. at least not yet. Don't waste bag storage space on grey usable items, ruined pelts, broken teeth etc. unless you are filling up an inventory for the run home. Keep green items for Auction House sale if your toon (or an alt) doesnt need them. Always set auctions for 24 hours and put a buyout price about 4-6x the value to an NPC vendor (again check the Auction House current prices so you Dont over or under value your items) ... the buyout price allows impatient bidders a way of getting their items quickly - and your money faster. Mail your major items to your mule for Auction House Placement, dump the rest of the garbage ontot he NPC vendor. Each stack will sell at Auction House for 5-10s per stack easily and up to 20s per stack if the demand is right, low level "green" items 5-10s each. My first (and still main) toon never got anywhere near this cash return so early (mage, miner engineer) ... my current level 10 gatherer is getting 1g per 2 hours of game time (mixing it up with questing and general fun) .... a concentrated effort should nett close to 1g per hour - a huge return for a low level character . Dont choose your crafting profession too early ... you can always drop one of your gathering professions for a crafting profession once your cash flow is good. Buying unneeded items early eats money. Buying unneeded skills early eats money. Enchanting eats money ! Engineering eats money! Leatherworking, Blacksmithing and Tailoring can feed an enchanter, make reasonably good money from auctioned items later. Alchemy can be fun and provide a good range of buff and regen. potions for your own use, then sell once you get to craft the higher demand potions

    Youth workers ergonomics

Every 12 minutes, British workers between the ages of 16 and 24 suffer work-related injuries that can keep them out of work for up to three days. As young people enter the workforce, it is important that they understand that they are no longer in an environment mostly designed for their protection and safety. Some of the burden of Ergonomics falls into the lap of the workers themselves. This burden is particularly acute with the younger workers. Some would argue that they accidents occur with younger workers as opposed to older workers because they are acting in an immature manner or fooling around on the job. Often, however, these injuries occur because the workers in question lack the experience necessary to protect themselves from commonplace hazards often associated with the workplace. Anyone new to a job has a higher likelihood of injury, regardless of whether they are considered a “young worker” or are older in age. Younger workers or even workers new to a job need to have the health and safety training that passes for common sense among those who are more used to the job and have been there longer. If young workers understand the risks inherent in their environment they will be more likely to try to protect themselves. Younger workers are particularly susceptible to musculoskeletal injury because their musculoskeletal system is not yet fully formed and takes the stress in more readily than their older counterparts when they are involved in activities requiring repetitive movement with awkward limb positioning. In fact, most risks that are present for younger workers but not present for older workers come from the fact that the bodies of the younger employees have not yet developed fully and may not be as strong, limber and resilient as that of the fully mature adults who may serve as their colleagues or even do the same job. Furthermore, protective equipment is often designed for the adult frame and may not fit the younger worker adequately therefore causing more harm than good. The European Agency for Health and Safety at Work has started a program called “Safe Start”, the launch of which will usher in a more dynamic and complete dedication to the safety of young people in the workplace. There will be periods of promotion once a year and the European Agency for Health and Safety at Work has guides and fact-sheets available should workplaces need further information regarding how to keep their young workers out of harm’s way.

    Zombie computers roam the internet

Spyware and viruses are so common that you would be hard pressed to find anyone that isn’t aware of them. Under the umbrella term Malware, these little programs have been causing trouble for computer users for many years, and they seem to get more powerful everyday. A new incarnation of malware is becoming very common as of late, and it involves using a virus or trojan horse to place a computer under the remote control of a hacker. The controlled computer is referred to as a zombie and it is used to commit various dastardly deeds without the knowledge of the computer owner. Zombie computers are almost always attached to the Internet via a broadband connection such as DSL or Satellite Internet. This is important as spammers have found that by using zombie computers to send out their junk mail they can easily avoid detection. As of 2005 it was estimated that up to 80% of all spam was sent via zombie computers, and that number is on the rise. The increase can be attributed to smarter hackers and better technology, but the real driving causes behind the increased zombie trend are better spam filters and anti-spam laws. According to Tom Spring at PC World Magazine, “spammers are hiring virus writers and hackers to help them create armies of zombie PCs to send spam.” This union of hackers and spammers has been beneficial to both parties in opening new revenue steams that are extremely difficult to shut down. Gregg Mastoras, a senior security analyst at the security firm Sophos says, “A new underground economy is evolving." This new economy is for the most part illegal and to date impossible to stop completely. As of late the Chinese hackers have thrown their hat into the game and have taken the zombie computer business to the next level. Senior Pentagon Advisor Paul Strassmann recently said, “As of September 14th 2007 there were exactly 735,598 computers in the United States infested with Chinese zombies”. Large groups of zombie computers can be used to form a “botnet” or network of slave computers. This network can be used to send out millions of spam mails in a short period of time. Slave networks are also used to commit a DoS attack. DoS attacks, or Denial of Service, target a particular website and overwhelm the server with information requests until the server can no longer handle the load. These attacks or in no way secretive, and once discovered are easily shut down. There will be a period of time however when site traffic will be disrupted by the DoS attack. Larger more sophisticated networks such as those used by governments or large firms have defensive measures in place to prevent damage from a DoS attack.

    Zune the latest cool tool

I can just picture how this production meeting went. There are two versions of the Apple iPod sitting in the middle of the table. One plays music and the other music and video. “What if we were to combine the features of these two iPods, a Palm Pilot, a cell phone, and a laptop computer?” “Dude, that’s a great idea!” “When could it be ready for market?” “Soon.” “What did you say, Zoon?” “No, I said soon, but that’s not a bad name for our product. Let’s call it the Zune!” And thus the Zune was born—coming this Christmas to an electronics store near you. I’ve got to tell you; at first I was very cynical about this device. I mean, why do a remake of an existing product that is already a market sensation? The answer to that question is, because the Zune has features on it that make it the coolest contraption to come along since, well the iPod. Here’s a rundown of some of those features. I know, we all already know that it plays music and videos. But did you know that the video display screen is 3 inches (44% larger than the iPods screen) with the capability of a 640x480 screen resolution? That’s bigger than Dick Tracy’s watch, and definitely bigger than your cell phone screen. The Zune has 802.11 WiFi built right into it which will allow it to transfer data (only pictures and music—no video) between Zune devices, as well as making it “netcast” capable allowing you to podcast music or the spoken word to anyone on your wireless network. It supports seven different media formats including H 264, MP3, WMA, WMV, MPEG4, JPEG, and AAC making it much more flexible than the iPod. It also comes with several audio and video files preloaded. This device interfaces and synchronizes with the Xbox 360 and will allow Zune users to create a social network and interface with friends over Xbox Live. The one bone I have to pick with Microsoft, is in regards to their choice to limit the number of times I can play a song once I download it from another device. To show the RIAA that they still want to be their girlfriend, Microsoft limits you to playing a song for three days or three plays (whichever comes first). If you want to fork over $79, then you are granted the privilege of downloading an unlimited number of songs (well, in the millions anyway). Or, you can pay a monthly subscription fee of $14.95 for what’s called the “Zune Pass.” Of course it’s not yet clear to me that if I let that subscription lapse, what will happen to all those songs I’ve already downloaded during the time I subscribed? Stay tuned for that one. I suspect we’re not going to like the answer. But that’s my only beef with the Zune. This is a cool tool. There are many add-ons in the works for this device, and with the potential and the versatility that it provides us; I think the Zune will be around for a long time. At $249.99, the price isn’t bad eithere Christmas, these are going to fly off the shelves.

    Zune hits the streets

Zune is upon us, and if you weren't aware of it you are among the few that the Microsoft marketing machine has missed. Run a Google search on the name, and the first six results listed are all websites - or more accurately, domain names - produced by Microsoft and containing their promotional material. Zune is the Microsoft MP3 player, available on the market for just a few weeks now. It has a thirty gigabyte hard drive, a three inch square video LCD and costs two hundred and fifty bucks. There are a couple of features that the iPod doesn't have: the Zune has some "preloaded" music on it from contemporary artists; it also has wireless transfer capability so that one Zune can ship music or photos to another Zune over a short distance. Overall, however, it's fair to say that, in its current format, the Zune does not represent a significant improvement over the iPod, or a compelling reason to pick it up if you already have an iPod. Microsoft would have you see it a little differently. They are casting the Zune player as the first in a series of products to be released under its Zune brand. "Designed around the principles of sharing, discovery and community, Zune will create new ways for consumers to connect and share entertainment experience...With Zune, we are not simply delivering a portable device, we are introducing a new platform that helps bring artists closer to their audiences and helps people find new music and develop new social connections." Along with the media player the Microsoft Zune music store has sprung to life and at the same price as the iPod music mart - ninety nine cents per. Currently, they have two million tunes available compared to Apple's 3.2 million. Early Microsoft press releases hype song sales from labels "DTS, EMI Music's Astralwerks Records and Virgin Records, Ninja Tune, Playlouderecordings, Quango Music Group, Sub Pop Records, and V2/Artemis Records." Presumably some of that preloaded music comes from artists on these labels. Much has been written about the recent deal signed by Microsoft and Universal Music Group. That agreement has Microsoft paying Universal $1 per Zune sold - and it is a landmark deal because it gives the music company a share in the sale of the hardware. Apparently Microsoft felt compelled to develop an inside arrangement with a major music company because of its late start in the business. For its part, Universal's CEO says, "We felt that any business that's built on the bedrock of music we should share in..." Apple has no such arrangement in its contracts with recording companies; those are straight revenue sharing deals. There is a good deal of concern that this deal will presage a new degree of control by the music companies over hardware manufacturers, not to mention a fee structure. According to Universal CEO Doug Morris: "We were very early in working with Steve (Jobs) on the launch of the iPod and he's been a very good partner and done a lot for the industry...We have a current contract with him and at the end of that I'm sure we'll negotiate." Morris' company accounts for nearly one in three CDs sold in the United States. The notion behind this agreement is that music companies lose a lot of sales to digital piracy - through peer-to-peer sharing on the Internet and through simple transfer of music from one iPod to another. Indeed, one of the features on the Zune player is that any song transferred to it from another Zune will "expire" after three plays. That should pump up business for the Zune music store; however it also gives the Zune wireless feature a mercenary look.

Zune music downloads the easy way

Finding the best resource to get your Zune music downloads the easy way. Plug in crank up and jam out, watching everyone else pull their own hair out. Your interested in getting all the downloads without the hassle, right? Your looking for the secret no one knows about, right? You want all the downloads the easy way. The Hard Way First The hard way to download music to your Zuneplayer is to purchase it from a web store. Examples are iTunes, Napster and others. Microsoft has also set a Zunemarketplace where there are more than 2 million soundtracks you can purchase and download. The prices ranges from $0.99 to $2.49 each. Do you know the average MP3 owner downloads 300 songs and 20 videos a year. When you calculate the figure up, it totals out around $500 bucks. WOW! Now that's the hard way to get music downloads. Shake The Habit - Explore Your Options Enter the world outside Zune marketplace and explore the overwhelming benefits that are only steps away from you clicking a few buttons. Don't limit yourself to just one way when there is always more. Grasp your fingers tightly around your mouse as your about to find out how to download Zune music the easy way! Straight To The Source Do you know there is a network with over 100 million MP3 / Zune music & movie downloads with people just like you downloading hit songs by popular artist such as; Akon, Eminen, 50Cent & Britney Spears going on right Now. Would you like to know how they are doing it so you can too? There are several ways to going about it. You can find popular sites such as izune access and use them to get your content. They are just one source, there are many. Example: Say you were shopping for a pair of hot new shoes, you could go to foot locker or Olympia sports or even a generic store like Shoe depot or something like that. All they are is a medium to the source. The same applies to getting content for your Zune. The only one issue is and just like as if you were shopping for shoes, some times the generic stores are dirty and not well maintained and you rather buy from footlocker because even though the shoes are the same the ones from foot locker seem to feel better and are completely worth paying the extra five bucks for the better service. So when your looking for a Zune music download site to get your content go with the popular one's. They are popular for a reason and usually that reason is because people like them better. How to find a popular Zune music download site the easy way. Getting Picky Find a review of course and mostly pick one you feel most comfortable with. Review's are great because they do all the testing for you. Joining, signing up and paying membership costs, all that wonderful stuff that way you don't have to. Leaving you with all the latest and greatest results so you don't ever lose out. They invest their own money so you don't have to. Now You Know Now you know where to find your favorite Zune music downloads with out paying by the month to get them or even paying each time you want to download something. That's right, you pay once which usually is between $20 - $40 bucks compared to paying $500 a year and if you were to ask around, that's what you would call getting Zune music downloads the easy way. So what are you waiting for? Go out there and get all that music you want and crank up the volume.

    Zune reviews and you

Zune Reviews Microsoft has joined the portable multimedia player bandwagon by releasing the Zune player. Not surprisingly, it has since been the subject of mixed reviews. The Zune reviews flooding the Internet and print media have bordered on gushing to downright scathing. Indeed, it’s enough to confuse and overwhelm the average consumer. But how do you know if the Zune is as good - or as bad - as they say? The Pros A Washington Post Zune review by journalist Rob Pegoraro declared that the Zune is “more pleasant to use than other iPod rivals.” Understandably so. The Zune player boasts of crystal clear audio, fantastic QVGA video display, FM radio, up to 80GB capacity, track sharing, and – dig this – cutting-edge Wifi, the singular, defining feature that even the most scathing Zune reviews can’t complain about. In one of the more positive Zune reviews available, Jason Cross of Fox News wrote that asthetically, the Zune “looks and feels great.” It’s soft finish makes you want to touch it and doesn’t get as “fingerprint-ridden” as the iPod. It’s easy to hold and control with just one hand. With over six million – and counting – music files available, Zune music reviews have been kind, to say the least. The sound quality is superb, and Cross swears that the sound is “slightly cleaner than the output from the latest iPods.” Zune movie reviews have also been promising. Though it’s the same resolution as the iPod (320x240), it’s half an inch bigger (a full 3 inches, instead of the iPod’s 2.5 inches) and is bright, sharp, and beautiful. Furthermore, it turns 90 degrees, which makes a big difference. By turning the Zune sideways, you get a 20 per cent bigger screen size, making videos and photos far more watchable. Zune download reviews are raving about its Wifi capability. Engaging in Wifi allows you to transfer and receive music and pictures to and from other Zune players within a 30-foot radius. A song can be transferred in 15 seconds and can be played 3 times in 3 days before being prompted to purchase it from the Zune Marketplace. Cutting-edge Zune-compatible software from Zune Empire is also available to maximize your Zune experience. The Cons On the other side of the fence, Zune reviews have been less than enthusiastic. It has been unkindly labeled as Microsoft’s not-to-be-outdone, “me-too!” portable multimedia player. It is also noticeably bigger than the iPod and earlier Zune reviews accused it of being heavier. However, it has since been found that though a little taller, it weighs roughly the same as an 80GB iPod. A product review could make or break anything, whether it’s a person or a product. But as the recipient of mixed Zune reviews, the Zune player is neither made nor broken – yet. Indeed, though there was an onslaught of negative Zune reviews at the beginning, more and more positive ones are being made everyday. It was apparent that the initial Zune reviews were rushed and hell-bent on proving how it doesn’t measure up to the iPod. Fortunately, the tide is turning. At the end of the day, the best Zune reviews still come from you.

Ways to beat the blog spammers

Spamming blog’s can also be known as blog spam, comment spam and splogs. All of these are known as spamdexing. Any website that accepts and displays hyperlinks may well become a target of blog spamming. The spamming of blogs, forums, chat rooms, etc is when comments are automatically posted that are promoting spammers sites. These comments rarely feature any text and normally just consist of the spammers link. By doing this spammers are increasing there search engine ranking, which can result in the spammers site being listed ahead of other sites. Spammers use these chat rooms, forums, blogs, etc to post links back to their site because it is a way of getting people to visit their site and, sadly, sometimes spend money on the spammers products. Blog spamming originates from guestbook spamming. Spammers would visit sites only to fill the sites guestbook up with numerous links taking you to their site. Guestbook’s were intended to be used by genuine visitors to the site, for them to comment on the use of the site. Spammers rarely even bother to add a comment to the various links they are posting; if they do it would simply say something like “cool site.” In 2003 spammers really started to take advantage of the fact they could get away with posting in blogs, forums, etc. Many blog sites and forums started to add software to try and stop the spammers, but as the technology grew so did the spammers knowledge of how to get around it. Spammers started using tools such as Trackback Submitter, which allowed spammers to get around comment spam protection. There are certain things that site owners can do to stop spammers posting. Validation tests are a way of blocking spam comments on forums, blogs, etc. A validation test is a way of showing that an actual person is posting a comment and that the comment isn’t just being automated. A Captcha test is like a validation test, again it makes it clear that a comment is being posted by a human and not just being automated. A captcha is a combination of numbers and letters that are embedded in an image. The combination of letters and numbers has to be entered correctly in order for your comment to be posted. Spammers are already trying to get around the captcha test, with many spam tools having text recognition built into them, this is why the numbers/letters that are embedded into the image are slightly distorted so they can’t be picked up by the text recognition. However site owners have to be careful when using a captcha test as some of them are case sensitive and with the distortion of the letters it can become difficult to recognize if the letters are in lower or upper case. Validation tests can also put some people off posting comments because the tests can sometimes be seen as a nuisance. When spammers post comments containing website links as a way of trying to get their site at a higher ranking in the search engines, they will be faced with the possibility of their efforts failing as many links relating to spam sites, are getting altered to that Google, amongst other search engines won’t include them in the search engine ranking at all. Spam is something that the Internet could do without but will never truly get rid of. It is important that you protect your email account and website as much as you can against spammers.

Ways to improve your site with google analytics

: Among all the free web site stats analyzer, I think Google analytics is the best solution for your site because of its utility, richness and depth analysis. You are able to make informed editorial, navigational and page design decisions to boost your site's traffic and effectiveness with the data that Google gives you. Signup & installation Google Analytics was launched in 2005; growth was initially slow due to the frustrating waiting list system initiated by Google to avoid over stretching their servers. Now the waiting list has been removed and anybody can sign up to use this great service. You just need to visit Google analytics and signup for free Google analytics account. Once your account is set up, to get Google Analytics tracking your site's page views, drop a snippet of JavaScript onto your site's pages (much like Sitemeter.) The guide should help you find your way around the new system. You just have to copy paste the JavaScript in the pages you want Google to track. E. g. If you're a blogger, just include the Google Analytics code into all your blogging software's templates. Powerful report generating tool Google Analytics has all the features you'd expect from a high-end analytics offering. It also provides tightly integrated AdWords support to view AdWords ROI metrics without importing cost data or add keyword tracking codes. If you have an AdWords account, you can use Google Analytics directly from the AdWords interface. Google Analytics also calculates ROI metrics from automatically imported cost and keyword tracking data, by saving you time. There are various ways to track your different needs for your site. If your site allows downloads you can keep record of your downloads by simply adding a script in your site. E. g. Tracking ecommerce site Tracking where your visitor come from is the most important thing you should know. You come to know from which search engine visitors come searching for your site. Sales reports by traffic sources can be found under the "Traffic Sources > All Traffic Sources" section of the menu. Tracking your sales To track your sales you will need to use server side script on your confirmation page (the page people see after they complete a transaction on your site) to populate a form in the following format: body onLoad="javascript:__utmSetTrans()">

Example UTM:T|34535|Main Store|111108.06|8467.06|10.00|San Diego|CA|USA UTM:I|34535|XF-1024|Urchin T-Shirt|Shirts|11399.00|9 UTM:I|34535|CU-3424|Urchin Drink Holder|Accessories|20.00|2 Once you have populated the form, GA will start tracking your sales right away. Redesign of your site If you are planning to redesign your site and want to keep your screen resolution according to the most commonly used resolution, according to different browsers or flash installed ask Google analytics for your queries. Just go to ‘web design parameters’ for all the valuable data you want! Above listed features is only the scratch of Google analytics. According to me Google analytics is one of the best web sites analyzing report generating tool build so far. If you have not used Google analytics yet try it and I am sure you will love its rich features.

    We all hate spam

All about Spam Spam is the scourge of the Internet. Spam, as everyone knows, is the unsolicited advertisements that clog up email inboxes worldwide. Even occasional users of the Internet will know how annoying and time consuming spam can be – when logging onto the Internet to quickly check your email becomes a time consuming process of sorting through offers of romantic encounters and get rich schemes. The First Spam An immigration law firm in Arizona is popularly described as sending the first intentional, mass commercial email firm in Arizona advertising their services over Usenet in 1994. This event is commonly referred to as the ‘Green Card spam’. Since then, the movement of spam over the Internet has exploded. Why Spam is So Bad One government study even put the cost of spam to organizations in the United States at $10 billion a year and growing! This number is so high because the cost is not just in lost productivity; money has to be spent to buy more hardware to deal with the influx of email messages, and software and staff assigned specifically to deal with spam. It is clear now that spam accounts for the majority of Internet traffic. Studies have estimated that there are 55 billion spam emails sent every day worldwide – this accounts for 80 to 85 per cent of all income email! Spam makes our lives harder. Instead of being able to quickly respond to emails and get on with other more important tasks, Spam makes us waste our time sorting through our inbox to differentiate emails from friends and colleagues from badly worded emails trying to sell us the latest fad medicines. While spam may not seem that bad for you, keep in mind that your ISP tries to block most of the spam that is sent your way before it gets a chance to make it into your inbox (which in turn leads to higher ISP costs). Making Money With Spam As horrible as spam is, it must be profitable, or else it would not be so prevalent. Although you would never respond to spam, because it is so cheap to send massive amounts of spam, a very low percentage of recipients have to respond for the advertiser to make money. As opposed to direct mailings, which can costs cents per letter, spam costs a fraction of a fraction of a cent per message. Because it is so cheap to send out, you can send out extremely high volumes of advertisements and only require a very small number of recipients to respond. A World Without Spam Never responding to offers in spam is the most obvious way to deal with the problem; if there isn’t a market, then no one will bother to send spam. However, as discussed above, because only a small percentage of people need to respons to spam for it to be profitable, this method will never reasonable deal with the issue of spam. In the absence of any strong regulatory programs by the government, Internet users are left trying to find the best filtering software they can to try to stop the spam before it reaches their inboxes.

Web based conferencing what every company needs

Wouldn't it be great if everyone in the office were all born with the gift of mental telepathy? There'd be no need for the telephone lines and fax machines, much less the Internet. But since this is impossible, we have to be thankful for the next best thing - web-based conferencing. Save Your Christmas with Web-based conferencing Imagine this: Christmas is in the air and you've just taken a holiday leave to visit your family. As soon as you step off the plane, you turn on your cell phone and it rings like crazy. It's your boss. An important client wants to talk to you about something equally important. Your boss orders you to get on the next plane back. You say you can't and refer a co-worker to replace you in the meeting. He says he needs you, doesn't take no for an answer, and even threatens you with your job. If you want to keep your job, there'd be nothing left for you to do but comply with your boss's orders. Goodbye warm nights around the fireplace, goodbye presents, goodbye mom and dad. This may seem like the worst situation any employee would want to be in, but these things happen every so often to people who are not yet acquainted to web-based conferencing. Now if you know your way 'round the net, and the same thing happened to you, it wouldn't be such a problem. You tell your boss that's there's no need to waste money on airfare. When he starts to scream on the phone, you tell him to calm down and introduce him to web-based conferencing. Designed To Meet Your Needs Web-based conferencing systems have creative communication tools that allow you to save time and money on travel costs. With the features on these systems, you'll find that web conferences can be as interactive and as dynamic as face-to-face meetings. A typical web-based conferencing system is equipped with just about every application you might need. You can share ideas with other participants by uploading your PowerPoint presentation. You can also write notes and draw diagrams on screen, like an online "whiteboard." Along with these smart features, web-based conferencing have screen sharing, file transfer, and web touring options. Another powerful feature is application sharing. This allows you to share applications from your desktop to your participants. Be careful with this feature, though, because it allows the participants full access to all your documents. The creators of these conferencing systems have also designed helpful applications for the audiences or other participants. There's the Live Chat option that allows the participants to talk amongst themselves. The systems are also equipped with a Polling feature, which provides the moderator with instant feedback on multiple answer questions, the Q&A, which gathers all the questions from the attendees, and the Help Request feature that will allow attendees to alert the moderator when they need help on anything. Get Your Web-based Conferencing Started The web-based conferencing system is so easy to use. All you need to do is visit the site and register an account with your username and password. This only takes about a few seconds. Make sure your client and boss create their own account too. The site will then provide you with all the necessary information regarding the different features of the system and you're a step closer to getting that much deserved holiday break.

Web based crm software makes telecommuting easier

After years of the promise of being able to telecommute and work from home, it looks like there is finally some progress being made in that arena. Now more than ever, with traffic getting worse and commute times getting longer, people want the ability to be able to work from home. For salespeople, this is getting a lot easier with smartphones becoming more common and, especially, with more and more companies adding web based CRM software to their tools that they make available to their sales reps. CRM software is a database for a salesperson that holds all the vital contact information on prospects and customers. CRM Software can be as basic as a simple database that holds the contact information, or you can use it to send email, direct mail, and postcards all on a set schedule. CRM Software is a tremendous tool for salespeople that are looking to take it to the next level. Regardless of what you may believe, most salepeople are just masters in process and sticking to a particular process. Once they find the formula that works, the good ones document the process and then setup a system in which all leads are handled. That can mean that after an initial contact, leads are put in a certain sales funnel, then they go through a set of predetermined steps that are proven to convert leads into customers. Until recently, most salespeople needed to be in the office to have access to their CRM System. Web based CRM is the next generation. No longer are you tied to your home computer, but you can access your CRM Software via any web connection. That means that if there are certain days where a salesperson just plans on making outbound telephone calls, they can do it from the comfort of their own home. Even better for their bosses, this means they can still get work done if they need to be at home with a sick child or if the weather keeps them from coming in the office. Many employers don't like the idea of telecommuting because they fear employees might start slacking off. But really, for salespeople who are measured by goals that should be a non-issue. Whether they are working from home or the office, a manager should not care as long as they are hitting their numbers. And too often, managers confuse ‘showing up’ with productivity. What a sales managers stance really should be is that they shouldn’t care how or where you work as long as you are bringring in prospects. So if you are looking for a little more flexibility in your sales career, you should definitely be checking out a web based CRM software solution. The combination of a good software program and the ability to access your information anywhere can be a powerful tool in your sales arsenal. It will give you the flexibility you need to stay in touch with prospects without being tied down to the office. And anytime away from an office is a good thing!

Web based training and internet enabled technology

Just a few years ago, web-based learning through PCs was seen as revolutionarypanies could put their orientations and ongoing trainings on line and all employees would get standardized learning. Soon, with the spread of wifi, router-based, and satellite wireless networks, people could tap into this type of training while on the run. A salesperson could get trained in the latest marketing presentation while riding on a plane to her or his next destination. Or a person could get oriented to their new job from home before the first day they work. Now, web-based trainings have taken another step forward due to the technology involved in internet-enabling devices besides computers. There are some obvious examples of how this might work. For example, your TV may be connected to the internet in a way that allows you to tune in to a training or conference as easy as changing to a specific channel. You could use your DVR and truly get the most out of the conference. There are also less obvious but still valuable examples of the potential of internet enabled devices. For example, an internet enabled printer could tap into web-based trainings in helping you maximize the quality of photographs before printing them. You could learn how to crop, sharpen, lighten, etc. your photos by having an online guide that directs real-time information to a nearby computer. That web-based guide, because the device is internet enabled, can actually “know” what you’ve just done and direct you about whether that was correct or not. If you have an internet-enabled all-in-one device, you could also learn how to scan and fax for maximum results. There are even some far out, but truly interesting ways this technology could be used. In the kitchen, internet-enabled appliances could actually teach you how to cook as you go, sending information to a nearby monitor about when food is done, or ready for the next step. An internet enabled coffee maker could use web-based training to help you brew perfect coffee that responds in real time to the fineness of the ground beans, the temperature of the water, or the density of the resulting beverage. In all of these examples, web based learning would take place in real time, and could lead to new skills being developed. And in each example there is also the potential of tapping into live help. In the first example, a guide could catch you up with whatever you’d missed in the conference if you “arrive late”. In the internet enabled printer example, live help could assist you when a document presents particular difficulty – the person on the other end could “see” what is going on in real time. In the third example, a cook could teach people how to cook her or his recipes almost like he or she is there – even checking the temperature and other information from their remote location. Perhaps the most exciting aspect of web based learning and internet enabled technology is the ability for people to do things together even when they are far apart. Literally hundreds of people could be part of a web based conference that helps them learn the latest uses for an internet enabled device. Or, your friend, relative, or teacher who knows how to do something you don’t could provide you with web based learning where they can see and react to your input on an internet-enabled device.
