En Espaсa, Barcelona es la ciudad turнstica y mбs cosmopolita; por otro lado Madrid tiene un estilo elegante y sofisticado. Siempre y cuando viajes con algъn compaсero o compaсera que tengan un estilo e idea similar al tuyo del viaje, buena energнa y estйn abiertos a nuevas experiencias, te aseguro que te divertirбs. Si te encuentras en un momento de tu vida donde te sientes presionado o estresado, por trabajo, estudio, familia o lo que sea y buscas un escape rбpido y certero viajar es la mejor soluciуn. For an hour, I meditate to the Holosync sounds of rain, water, waves, a liquid drumming that rolls beyond the pulse to a deeper source. Somehow during that hour, my breathing becomes more formed, more regulated, more entrained, like a pair of dancing legs that has found the rhythm at last and could well afford to be caught by a larger, deeper power. Each morning as I settle into water, I wait to be caught and I am seldom disappointed. The interesting thing is that after almost 6 months of daily meditation to the sounds of water (I’ve only missed 2 sessions), my whole body has been groomed for the taking even before I put on my ear phones. And the taking is like a grand plunge into the different layers of the self, only this self (for the lack of a better image) is like a huge octopus dancing in the depths of the ocean water. All my tentacles are veering wildly away from the center and yet I can feel their rhythm perfectly in the center, all the incongruities making sense ultimately in this center. Hard put to say what this image means, but it’s the most viable description of how I feel at the end of the hour — a dancer reconciled to new beginnings, un-choreographed steps, a dancer thinking on the tips of her dancing slippers. It is a very subtle process--this growing sense of interconnectedness, a profound sense that even the most perverse has its roots in the most plausible. I am an octopus wanting to go in 20 different directions, feeling the outward pull-- inward—a sense of peace in the turbulence, softness in the cacophony. After the tapes, I get up and the morning somehow falls miraculously into place—each email, each phone call falling into place like a scripted dance. I am focused at work, in my writing. Opportunities unfold before me. Words that I had struggled before to make right—sound perfect in their resistance. Not everything is melodic, but all that emerges is poetry—raw, cacophonous, not totally understood nor totally cohesive—but perfectly in step. When I come across something that previously would have torn me apart, I watch unmoved. I am beginning more and more to see that impasse as part of the puzzle whose beauty is that the final piece comes not at the end, but at the beginning. I am less and less interested in searching for the final truth that justifies all, but more and more contented with the million truths that fill each space and fragment of time. And the irony is that somehow this cacophony makes me whole: I am more than one. I am infinite—infinite pieces, infinite reflections from a single piece or perhaps infinite pieces shattered from a single image. It does not matter anymore, you see. "The readiness is all," says Hamlet. And the immersion into these tapes seems to be grooming me for that readiness. Readiness for what? For nothing and for everything. More and more I sense that the whole process of survival--living, working, writing, mating, loving—all these are part of a water dance, wherein the play’s the thing, not to catch the conscience of the king, but to be enjoyed and cherished as the last waltz…before the next.

    Wellness after 30 getting the most out of later life

     

    How do you define your Wellness? How does it show up in your life currently? About 15 years ago, I ask myself these questions many times. When I was in my early thirties, I watched my body, my health, my emotions and my sense of “self” slip away. I did not know what it felt like to wake up with a purpose and the will to move forward. I wanted to get a handle on my life and find a better way of living, one that would enhance the quality of my life as I aged. After researching, soul searching, educating and defining what was important to me, I've come to believe that incorporating wellness habits into your life on a daily basis is the key. I recognize that wellness is unique to each person; it encompasses every aspect of your life and requires work, determination and commitment to bring about change. The change needed to bring balance and harmony to your life. This means wellness is a choice. What an enlightening discovery, I thought. Once I realized that it was a choice, I found a way to tap into my “self “strength and saw a time of change as an opportunity to be a better me. Wellness is a choice. It requires that you do something everyday to honor your body, mind and spirit. Achieving wellness means taking control and directing your life where you want it to go. It means you are in command of all aspects of your life: physical, career, relationships, finances, spiritual, environment and emotional well-being. As you know, this is easier said than done. I’ve been a wellness coach for several years and find the denial of self-improvement and the lack of effort to achieve wellness, especially for those over the age of 30, dangerous. The dictionary definition of wellness is: “The state of optimal well-being, not simply the absence of illness, but an improved quality of life resulting from enhanced physical, mental, and spiritual health”. Many people are not willing to do the work to achieve wellness and go into denial about how well they really are. After a while they find comfort within their denial and use it as a coping strategy to avoid bigger problems. They will continue avoiding small problems until a major crisis develops, and sometimes even then it doesn’t trigger any action. The areas of life someone thinks about in the privacy of his or her heart (or alone in the dark) are exactly the areas that need to be honored--the mind, body and spirit. Some reasons why adults don’t incorporate wellness activities into their daily lives include lack of time, effort, desire and commitment. I was talking to a client of mine the other day and he told me a co-worker had challenged him to run in a race. My client has been a heavy smoker for years and has not been physically active. I asked him how he planned on running the entire distance. He then told me about what a great runner he was in high school – more than twenty years ago. I explained to him that he had become very comfortable with denial about his health and wellness, and that I needed him to accept the truth about his overall well-being. We then set some goals to get him through a race at a later time, which included kicking the smoking habit as a first step. It’s not only the physical being that affects wellness; stress is a growing contributor and excuse preventing people from taking control of their own destiny. Investigating where your time is going and then adjusting your priorities to free up time to incorporate activities important to your health and wellness reduces stress. You must re-evaluate your daily priorities and approach them in order of importance for your efforts to be successful. One suggestion might be instead of working 12 hours per day, work 10 and spend the two extra hours honoring your well-being. According to time-use researchers and exercise experts, we’re making excuses about our time. “People certainly do have time. There are about 40 hours a week of free time in this country,” says John Robinson, a professor of sociology at the University of Maryland and co-author of Time for Life: The Surprising Way Americans Use Their Time. People are watching TV an average of 15 to 20 hours a week, so they have "room to carve out more time to be active." The main thing you should do is put yourself at the top of your priority list. Wellness is important, especially after age 30, because getting older brings with it an abundance of new metabolic, physical, physiological, emotional and mental challenges. And while change can be unsettling, this time of change can also be viewed as an opportunity to get the most out of life. Later life can be a time of rest, fun, relaxation, maybe even retirement, and most of all a time to enjoy life. It should be a time to embark on new adventures whether it’s travel, a hobby or a fun job. Here are some suggestions to start creating a life that honors your wellness: 1. Be honest about how well you really are. Realistically look at the areas of your life: physical, career, relationships, finances, spiritual, environment and emotional well-being. Identify the area(s) that need improvement. Set goals to achieve desired results one step at a time. Buy a journal to track your activity. 2. Assess your readiness for change and willingness to embrace it. Identify and write down the benefits of wellness to your life and your willingness to make the necessary changes. Remember: every move, forward or back, is part of the normal process of change. 3. Identify and eliminate barriers and challenges that could impede your success. There are always barriers to overcome as we move toward our goals. Select one barrier to work on at time. For every negative message you encounter, turn it into a positive one. For example,”I don't have enough time” can turn into “everything that needs to be done will get done”. Learning to replace the negative messages with positive ones is a matter of establishing new habits. It takes time and practice. 4. Set clearly defined and measurable wellness goals. Create fun and interesting ways to fulfill your goals. For example, to be more physically active at work, you may want to take a two-minute walk every hour around your work environment. Break your goals down into small, incremental steps. 5. Create meaningful wellness priorities. Take a closer look at how you spend your time on an average day. Record your daily activity. Find opportunities for wellness activities you might not have known existed and incorporate them into your daily life. 6. Challenge your wellness changes and strive to achieve even more. Make simple changes first and then take a look at the things that are harder and that will require the most change to achieve your desired results. Tackle them one at a time. 7. Design and refine your goals so you’ll get the most out of them everyday. If you don’t get the results you want in a reasonable amount of time, go back to the “drawing board.” Re-design and refine your goals to fit what works for you. You may even want to get some professional help. 8. Make lasting changes to your lifestyle. Identify and celebrate your accomplishments. Reward yourself! Review your favorite activities. Try new activities to renew your motivation. The pace of today’s world is so fast that we expect quick solutions to everything. If results are not immediate we’re quick to quit. However, the long-term results that extend our lives are well worth the time, work and effort that we put into taking care of ourselves. Wellness is a way of life. Get yours back!

They either feel ashamed, helpless, and dirty or just want the pain to go away. Talking about it freely and no longer feeling lonely will release the pressure. Some people will talk a lot about it. I am one of them. Others will only speak to a few people. Getting support and staying well informed is the first step toward empowerment. People eventually learn to adapt and control herpes or at least not let it control them. If you feel very anxious, ashamed or dirty you may want to participate in a local herpes support group. There are several forums online. Online support groups are a good place to start. People can learn to talk about herpes, share personal experience and speak with others who are already in control of herpes. Seeing that other people get on with their lives relieves part of the anxiety. Offline support groups can offer human face-to-face contact. That is essential for people who feel ashamed and tend to withdraw into themselves. Going to a local support group, meeting people, and shaking hands with them, may be an important step toward self-acceptance and love. I feel that taking care of the physical part of the disease is like treating 20% of the pain with painkillers. Doctors usually don’t provide psychological support for people who are diagnosed with herpes. Statistics confirm that most people are left dissatisfied by their doctor’s appointment. Herpes Support groups can provide the friendly environment that a doctor can’t. However, they cannot change the fear of herpes that is rampantly growing in our society. Herpes can be controlled and doesn’t have the power to ruin our love or sex lives. We do. If we accept herpes, then maybe we can help people understand that it is not that bad to have it.     What causes people to develop a speech impediment

     

    I am one of many people who are unfortunate enough to develop a speech impediment in childhood. This article describes why these impediments may occur and how I went about achieving fluency. For the purpose of this article, I concentrate on the speech impediment known as stuttering. There are many reasons why people may develop a stutter, it can be as a result of bullying from school, an over aggressive member of the family, a shock reaction to an event such as a car crash, or it could be passed down from another member of the family who has a stutter. I have met many people who stutter as I now help people to achieve fluency as a career. I always ask them to talk about how and why their stutter started. The reasons above are the type of answers I receive. Stuttering normally originates in childhood and nine out of ten people who stutter are men. Around 1% of the population has a stutter according to recent reports. I have now managed to beat my stutter which had basically ruined my life for eighteen years. When I had a stutter, I found it difficult to say certain words beginning with certain letters. I would always avoid these words or I would think of an alternative word to say. Aged twenty-two I decided it was time to try to overcome my communication problems. I started to observe what I called very good fluent talkers, I was watching and trying to work out how they were talking and breathing. I also tried to find differences between their speech and my own. I also started to read books about things like, positive thinking and mind over matter as I also realised I needed to change the way I was thinking. After nearly a year of working and practicing very hard, I managed to overcome my stutter, much to my relief. As a career I now help other people to achieve fluency by running one to one speech courses from my home in Birmingham.     What creates self esteem

     

    We all want to feel good about ourselves but many of us go about this in the ways that will never create self-esteem. Do you believe that you will have high self-esteem when: • You make a lot of money? • You achieve a high position in your work? • You have an expensive car or an expensive home? • You are famous? • You find the right relationship? • You receive approval from the important people in your life? While all of these can result in momentary good feelings, none of them create a deep and abiding sense of self-esteem. Self-esteem actually has nothing to do with your achievements or with other people. Self-esteem results from two things regarding your inner relationship with yourself: • How you see yourself • How you treat yourself Richard, a client of mine, is a very successful businessman. He is wealthy, lives is a big house, has expensive cars, a lovely wife and three children. But Richard consulted with me because of his low self-esteem. He was perplexed that he continued to feel so inadequate in spite of all that he had achieved and all that he had. As we worked together, it became apparent that, no matter what the outer truth was, Richard continued to see himself as the inadequate child his father told him he was. His inner dialogue was often self-critical, just as his father had been with him. And not only did Richard constantly judge himself as his father had judged him, he treated himself as his father had treated him – ignoring his own feelings and needs. As a result, Richard was always looking to others for the attention and approval that he didn’t receive from his father and was not giving to himself. Instead of being a loving parent to the child within him, he was a harsh and inattentive inner parent. Jackie, another client of mine, is a very successful actress. Yet fame and fortune have not given her self-esteem. No matter how many people tell her how beautiful and talented she is, she still feels inadequate and insecure most of the time. This is because, on the inner level, Jackie is constantly telling herself that she is stupid. “How could I have made that stupid remark!” “How could I have acted so stupid?” Mirroring her mother’s own self-judgments and her judgments toward Jackie, she is constantly putting herself down. Until Jackie learns to see herself through eyes of truth rather than eyes of judgment, she will continue to feel inadequate and insecure. It might make it easier to see how you create your own high or low self-esteem if you think of your feeling self as a child within. No matter how much you achieve or how much approval you get from others, if you are treating your inner child badly – by ignoring your feelings and judging yourself - you will continue to feel inadequate. If you continue to see yourself through the distorted eyes of your parents, siblings, peers or teachers, and continue to treat yourself the way they treated you or the way they treated themselves, you will continue to have low self-esteem. If you open to seeing the truth of who you really are – a beautiful divine soul who just wants to love – then you will treat yourself as you would treat anyone whom you saw as a beautiful divine soul. When you take loving action in your own behalf, you will feel valued rather than inadequate. Loving actions might include: • Speaking up for yourself with others and telling your truth without blame or judgment in conflict situations. • Taking care of your body through eating well, getting enough exercise, enough sleep, and so on. • Creating a balance between work, rest, play and creative time. • Treating yourself and others with respect and compassion rather than with judgment. • Attending to - rather than ignoring - your own feelings and needs. • Taking the time to pray and meditate. • Choosing to notice your thoughts and practicing inner self-discipline regarding your thoughts. When taking loving action in your own behalf replaces your inattentive and judgmental behavior toward yourself, you will feel high self-esteem.
